What astounds me is that most of these highlights are against the top 6 PL clubs or massive clubs like Madrid and Inter in the UCL. Henry was truly a big game player.
@@abidtasnim Haaland doesn’t grace Henry’s boots.. I’d love to see Haalnd running about like Henry did, making absolute fools of defenders and scoring some absolute screamers… what a player Henry was, the best this league has every seen.
@@kaythekayak9910nope not even close. Even the likes of Drogba were clear of Torres. Sure he had pace and could finish but was nowhere near to the ball control, ability to dribble and take on defender of Henry 😊
The difference between Henry and all other strikers I've followed over the past 40+ years is, Henry can score all types of goals from all parts of the pitch. Throw in his pace, intelligence, assists . . . 🔥
These highlights, no matter how good they are, simply can't show and describe how utterly dominant Henry was on the pitch during his prime years. Often when playing against some mediocre teams in the league (and those are still top level pro's), or even against some top teams in the CL, he looked as a grown man pro playing against amateur kids. The strength, the power, the athleticism, the intelligence, the skill, the technique, the class, the composure... He is absolutely one of the most dominant players I've seen in this century so far.
Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are by far my favorite living football legends, they are the reason I fell in love with football in the first place, they are part of my childhood... Henry should have won at least one or two ballon d'or in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, he was so unique and underrated back then, he was almost unstoppable and genuinely a very good all-rounder authentic player. ☯️✌️
4:31 I was 10 years old when this goal happened. I was living in my country's town. We didn't have natural gas in our house, so I used to bathe with preheated water and then warm up in front of the heater. I can never forget this match because before it started, I imagined Henry entering the penalty area from the left diagonal and placing the ball in the right corner. Right after getting out of the bath, I ran to the TV. It was very early in the match, either the 4th or 5th minute, and as soon as I looked at the screen, the goal of my dreams happened exactly as I had imagined it. Whenever I see this goal, I remember that moment and feel emotional.
Great compilation. WHAT A BEAST!!!! People who think he was just speed need to watch the footwork, elegance, flair and skill in this video that he displayed on a REGULAR basis!!!
Henry is the absolute best 9 ever only toped by R9 today's 9 like mbappe or haaland can ball but they score tap-ins and penalties more than anything else. Back in the days solo runs like this were big part of the game, it required condition, speed, technique and agility but nowadays every player beside the 9 will try to assist himwhich means that the whole block goes up and down just like guardiola initiated it with barcelona, efficient but takes away the beauty of the sport.
Thierry Henry for me was a player who showed much hunger and desire on the field combining a game of street flair and academy style and the way of training was excellent I've always had huge respect for the street player they know how to treat the ball
The other day I read through comments of people comparing the prime Henry with this halland who cannot entertain us with the ball only depending on midfielders no wonder almost all his goal are from inside the box after receiving an assist
I had the honour of being a football mad young boy and Arsenal fan and can say i watched football for thierry henry man he was something else , the speed the skill the power, the accuracy could run or score form anywhere and alongside Bergkamp , you oaid to watch henry man could change a game alone exactly like what messi and ronaldo did too
This is my childhood hero. The reason i started to fall in love with football. Im to young to remember the 98WC 00EURO but i sure remember the invincibles era as a 11-12 year old! The Barcelona move gutted me for some reason, it didnt feel right, But he got his CL thropy atleast :)
being a man utd over seas supporter i hated him not because of him as a person because he was the top dog from the rival squad always scared us to death . now i respect him as a legend of the game the best every played in the PL
Shucks unbelievable talent, he gets tripped up and still manages to score. His control is out of this world definitely the greatest all rounder soccer player. Goat of football.😎💯👍
Thiery Henry was a monsters give him the ball and you pull the rabbit out of the hut my opinion is Henry is the best English premier league striker Ever till to date skills flair pace swagger killer instinct long range deciding matches solo goals mention all and he can do it without any hesitation it's a big shame to the Football Association that Henry never won Balloon dior yer Owen and And Modric did that's a clear racism but it won't change the he's the G.O.A.T Epl player King TT🎉
When you talk about premier league this is the guy that brought attention to premier league him and wenger needs to be thanked arsenal was crazy famous back in africa and that's when wenger and Henry arrived i feel so privileged to support arsenal
I remember a goal from Thierry Henry, that i can't find nowhere, he had to run to the ball, but the goalkeeper was easily closer to the ball, they both ran at the ball, and Henry took it first, i was so impressed. Between 2002-2004 he was so strong.
An amazing footballer who was criminally denied world best player. He made alot of defenders uncomfortable by then. He had the world of football at his feet, and was a joy to watch!
People need to realize that awards like the Ballon d’or, Oscar, Grammy etc are worthless. It’s a small group of people voting for whoever they want to vote for, and not an actual representation of who’s the best and most deserving
@@Chooseachannelnamethatrepr-k2d Well yeah, that’s kind of obvious, it’s all subjective and the opinion of the voters of course. That being said, the voters still were either blind or stupid to not award him the 2004 Ballon d’Or. I guarantee if you were to ask Thierry if he’d rather have one or not, he’d probably rather, regardless of how “meaningless” the award is. Emphasis on *finger quotes*.
@@Al-ji4gd Are you crazy? He actually destroyed Real Madrid Galacticos at the Bernebaue in a UCL Semi-Final. Shevchenko and Nedved robbed him, compare them to his greatness and skills
@@NathanTony2009 That's one game, mate, and that Galacticos team was washed. He never did it against prime Galacticos, for one. Secondly, that's not even the same season as the ones you claim he got robbed, so you don't even know what you're on about. Sheva and Nedved didn't rob anyone. They deserved their Ballon d'Ors because of what they did domestically AND in Europe. Plus, both were more important for their national teams than Henry ever was.
@@knight-bd9dk Haha what does this have to do with me? Are you that much of a fanboy that you take criticism of your favourite players as criticism of you? Pathetic.
I was lucky i watched this guy in his Prime 😂😂😂😂😂...what a moment 🔥🔥What a PLAYER The biggest robbery of Ballon d'Or was when they gave Pavel Nedved the Trophy & Henry Came Second 😢😢😢😢+254🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
This lad done it, back when it was a man's game. If he played in today's non contact game, he would be unstoppable. Messi in his own words was starstruck when he came to Barcelona. He is right up there with R9 as two of the best in any era of the game. An absolute beast with the silky skills to match.
@Ggness123 obviously...but Henry was massive from 2001 onwards. He just had that aura and the talent. There's a great picture of materazzi and zanneti arguing over who gets Henry's shirt at the end of the inter milan game after Henry demolished them if you want to look it up
Henry's speciality - take the best defenders one on one and beat them badly. I saw it. Most players always avoid the best defenders but he used to personally attack the best defenders of the world.
there was just something about the way he struck the ball that was just so.... i dont even know what it was... sublime player, big ego too but made it cool..
Let me tell you about him in a nutshell... To see TH and Bergkamp play week in week out was beyond magic... For 6 years at least we were ecstatic i just cannot explain the feeling... A true master of his trade in full action and control was pure mesmerising 💯
one of the extremely few who could make the likes of zanetti, ramos, salgado, puyol, lucio, hyypia, among others, look like utter clowns. dude was DIFFERENT!
U r right but most of this are clips of a 25 to 28 year old Henry at his peak not a 22 or 23 year one. Am not a Mbape fan, his selfishness just makes me sick, but I still give him the benefit of doubt. Given his age.
