@@malachiwilt3891 people who are stuck in a one month faze that think this one blip on the nu metal radar known as primer 55 is some kind of listenable music. That must be why they are so well remembered and respected haha. Stay mad homie
This is Jason’s daughter and I think he’s fucking dope and actually song this life tells a story about women in an abusive relationship. The song My girl expresses the trials of a relationship (with my mom) the song tricycle expresses the pains of growing up. You just have to listen to the lyrics. Or maybe it’s too much for your simple minded brain. But like they say you’re not truly great unless u have haters. Today marks 3 years since my dad died that’s for making my day just a lil shittier
Sorry you saw this today of all days, and sorry you disagree with my mere opinion! in my defense i didnt hate on anybody directly and even give them props for doing their thing. Worst thing i say is theyre average, forgettable and contributed nothing. i meaaaaaaaan. Sorry about your Father tho i mean no real malice. All my opinions are stated clearly
My name is Charles cook I knew your father very well he was the most amazing man I ever talked to,he was my best friend and his music was a huge part of my life fuck what this dipshit has to say I’m sorry for your loss Christie your father was a badass dude and still to this I miss the shit out of him
@@davidminer2519 nobody is hating on anybody who's has passed. I think the band is horrible, it's ok. Let's all go listen to that fuck song now. Song along everybody.

This wasn’t exact big brain stuff here. You basically say they sucked because they weren’t ground breaking. You don’t actually critique anything they did. It’s like you just read a cliff notes version of their Wikipedia page and edited in some video footage.
Yes objectively speaking this is trash "content " I actually was hoping to hear an interesting post of view buy I just ended up wasting 5 minutes of my life. Zero substance and dude is just being a hater.
What the fuck? Why does everyone really hate nu metal? I'm a huge nu metal fan and it was perfect for someone like me who was into rap to find a perfect fit in metal. Primer 55 was super dope and Instruction to Mayhem.
@Dilligent Yeoman It’s like it is mainstream to hate that image and style but I just think It is the most inclusive genre ever! A genre that takes influence from a bit everything and turned it heavy! People hate what they do not understand.
Yeah, this dude is fucking thick with his opinions and they typically are shit opinions at that. He has so much shit to talk about all these musicians I'd love to hear some of his fuckin albums.
This band stuck out to me. J-sin's scream was something different. The beat with the guitars melded so well on intro to mayhem. Still jam them more than most other bands.
One of my favorite bands ever. saw them in 2000 ozzfest. hate them all you want, they are still fucking great and eveey football team in 2000's came out of the locker room to this band!
Primer 55 was dope to me because Jason's vocals were heavier than most other rapcore groups. It was more aggressive. On some songs he sounds comparable to Corey Taylor. Had they come out before Limp Bizkit they would have been bigger for sure but who got popular in numetal/rapcore seems to be whoever did it first. There were quite a few bands that came later but never made it. Oh and if you're looking for a numetal band that even I as a fan of the genre find not very good check out Spyndakit. All the other numetal bands you've covered so far are much better than them and I'm being nice.
hahah hey thanks man i appreciate your opinions, and ill go back and listen with that in mind now. I can say that i loved this shit when i was younger.
Kai Fulci thanks for the recommendation! I checked out Syndakit after reading your post, and they kick ass! That's that rap rock sound I'm always searching for 🔥🤟
@@kentbrennan9551 They have their moments. But that man is not a singer no matter how hard he tries. But hey if you like that check out Shuvel, Nullset, Reveille, Downset, Snot, Body Count and Skindred. I used to be pretty obsessed with rap over guitars so i know a lot of rap metal bands. lol.
Yep I've definitely listened to all those bands. I have a RU-vid Playlist strictly of rap rock songs with over 900 tracks saved, so I've heard of most the bands out there, but im always looking for more! Thanks man
Primer 55 might be my favorite nu metal band. IMO this is pretty ridiculous, they may not have been mainstream but they were great. J Sin was one of my favorite front men.
Wow! Thanks for slamming the piss out of my favorite band. Personally, music genre’s don’t mean much to me. Bands don’t cubbyhole themselves into all these nonsensical genres. Critics do.
well maybe sometimes, but these guys had nothiong going on besides a short nu metal hype train ride to nowhere. from what i fouibnd they only put out one actual album anyways lol. but damn, i was surprised to learn that people like this. that when some people want to listen to music.....they put on Ptimer 55....lol
Your right pushmonkey sucks! There from austin like me. I remember wondering why they were so big lol. I saw primer 55 4 times they got better each time
😆 its funny how we all know what we're talking about but have different opinions. I always liked Shuvel lol. I liked how they are pretty upbeat but I can see why you would say that though. How about the singer of dope. He sounded like he was choking on shit when he sang lol
Dude, you should do another new metal episode. Spine shank, ultra spank, orange 9mm, videodrone, one minute silence, THUMB, FLAW, dredge, zebra head, citizen’s King,ect... it would be an awesome episode- these are bands I used to listen to lightly and no one ever speaks about them. Thanks in advance
Loose and Supa Freak Love were probably their best contributions. I don't disagree with the overall analysis of the band, but they weren't trash either.
I really like that song but I though jarrids verse was kinda weak. I really like hed pe in General. Whats funny was I just heard a edited version of the song where he had to completely reright the lyrics and the clean verse was better than the original in my opinion.
Their Impact has been felt by the younger generation of internet nu-metal and hardcore fans. They heavily influenced many "trap metal" and "shadow rap" originators that were foundational starting the Soundcloud "rager" hypetrain. A lot of these old numetal bands are being rediscovered by a new generation of angsty kids who never had the chance to get sick of it.
Hey hey whoa. Still crank a couple of their songs now and then. Loose was killer. Give em a break. What did you bust out with? Easy to watch someone work and pick em to pieces
Stings a little but as one of the live hired members... It was very hard work. Bobby and the others were soldiers. Not an easy lifestyle. Well, everyone is allowed to have their opinions, I respect it
Dude if you’re gonna shit on Nu-Metal, at least make some real points, not just slamming bands like Primer 55 for having a certain style. I also saw Cold in the list of “shitty” Nu-Metal bands at the beginning of the video, just fyi THEY ARENT NU METAL
@@STAUNCHTV I meant musical style idiot, Cold is a very talented band of real musicians, all you do is make brain dead videos, I didn’t hear one logical or intelligent point in this video, you should honestly just take it down, his fucking daughter saw this you jackass 🙄
As a big Nu Metal fan I gotta respect your opinion man. Primer 55 have a few catchy tracks that pop into my head every now and then but ultimately there's alot better Nu Metal bands that I'll revisit first before checking out Primer 55. In my opinion they're not laughably bad like Crazy Town, but they aren't incredibly memorable like some other underground Nu Metal bands like Stepa and Level.
I think you should've been clear about your statements towards the band, I don't really know whether you're dissing, complimenting or critiquing the band. One thing though that I totally disagree is base from one of your opinions is that they don't suck, their music is pretty good. You've probably ought to highlighted the band more instead of sounding like as if you're judging them.
well i was judging them pretty much lol. and this video was not meant to try and gain some insight on a band with really one album from when i was 13, rather it was about me rediscovering them and realizing why they are completely forgotten lol
@@STAUNCHTV Don't get me wrong dude, I really think that your video is good but only if you give these nu metal bands more thought and facts. There's some of your opinions that I do agree and your other reasonable opinions than the ones that I disagree, but overall I think you should've made a better video than this if you do your research well.
Sorry man, but you're take on this is wrong imo. Primer 55 had that heavy white trash wankster rap/rock sound that nobody could match... credit to J-sin! I love that sh*t, and I still try to find bands with similar sounding music! Matter or fact I'm rocking out to Introduction To Mayhem at work right now, and everybody is loving it 🔥🤟
Primer 55 were one of the purest Nu-Metal bands, up there with Ultraspank. Whereas bands like Korn border on just being metal, which is only Nu-Metal because it has slight funk elements and some of the members used to be in a funk-metal band.
New Release, their lyrics hit me, these bands that tell a story about struggle and being strong. Tricycle makes me cry like a man, crying inside and motivates me to continue pushing forward as time is ticking.
U said nothing here beside I don't like this group. No technical or cultural critique. All you said was your subjective opinion. nothing wrong with a subjective opinion if you back it up with literally anything.
I know plenty about nu metal! I was there! It was a horrible fad led by fred Durst. And I'm glad its over!! Hhahah. Its gonna be ok though man...its gonna...be...oh...kaayyy
I personally don't think that primer 55 is"the worst nu-metal band" bc they do have some good songs but as you said there are worst nu-metal bands and primer 55 happends to be one of them but I respect ur opinion.(ik my english is a lil wordy lol)
i feel ya. i get that alot of people are saying there is more to the band than i saw, so im thinking im gonna give em another shot and review each album looking for high points. i try to understand these things lol, however as of now i think they are horribly plain, mediocre to the max. I just dont see anything beyond local band here as of now.
a lot of these comments are ridiculous, you are harassing a guy for having an opinion? I love this band but I'm not calling this guy a "fucking asshole" because he didn't like them. You guys are acting like the BTS fanbase.
This band was one of my favorites!! They went hard and had some dope ass grooves. Definitely one of the better to come out in the nu metal error. Shit slaps to this day.
They were ok-ish. I never liked the "nu metal" distinction. I think primer, system, slipknot, linkin park are rock bands. The hip hop influence (to me) wasnt significant enough to consider it a new genre. Limp, hed pe, crazy town defined the sound, and what im into. Hey, theres this French band called Bawdy Festival. They were clown painted, and made rap metal. Booglion mafia was their big hit. Great song. Pretty sure theyve disbanded but itd make a great video
You never saw these guys live and it shows... I was 16 when i saw Primer 55 at Ozzfest and they were amazing! I've been a fan of them ever since. Kinda odd that you lump them in with casual nu-metal bands because when their second album was released they finally found their own sound. J-Sin sang with so much pain and you could tell. You probably only like singles anyway hahaha
I loved this band. If you knew them then you knew them. I listen to Loose all the dang time. You can't go wrong with that tune. RIP J-SIN you were the Dude!!!
To each their own... loved these guys... they were cool to hang with... My kid has fallen in love with them after raiding my cd collection... theres a million things to listen to... dig what ya dig...
the band was pretty good tbh. sure it was in the mix with Nu Metal but all players had a special quality that that gave "enough" catch to groove it up a bit. not super duper but not the worst by far.
Yo I think they're pretty simple and effective... just not that recognised comparing to Linkin Park, Korn or SOAD ( which is a factor that clouds pure analysis) so I don't agree with your opinion at all BUT I liked the video a lot, I respect your opinion and tbh you were pretty funny😂 I literally laughed out loud when you said "[Insert Nu metal band you don't like] OR SOME SHIT"
Hahaha thanks man! I'm glad you can disagree and not get all mad like most others here. It's all in good fun. I have since talked to DRP and even he agreed with me alot but he also put things into perspectove for me. I just feel they were trying hard to be clones of whatever was popular and really, really didn't bring a thing new or fresh to the table. Imo lolol
@@STAUNCHTV Yeah, yeah, yeah, I gotta give you that whole copycat issue. Also, I think peaceful discussions like this are golden for communication, I would never be mad at you for having your own, different tastes and experiences as mine, and again, fun content, you got yourself a new sub
hey thanks man! this is a fun comment thread tho if you read them all. i got ALOT of shit for this video haha even the guys kids were in here talking shit @@AMP_Zadex
Its not so much these bands wernt any good. Its that they was young and still growing. But the music business picks him up and drops them off and tell the public that they're irrelevant. The ones who kept going are prett awesome today.
Ok so I'm not gonna tr to shit on your "opinion". While on its surface you can say they are "average" the same could be said for Kiss, outside the markup and stage show their music itsn't that special. But that's just it, Primer 55 put on a killer live set, I saw them back in the early 00's and what really stands out to this day is when the venues PA system shit the bed at the beginning of the set J-sin didn't stop, the band didn't stop, they finished that song and a another song until the PA was fixed. For a band to be "good" (by your definition) they dont have to have the lyrical depth of Deftones and the genre defining sound as Black Sabbath, sometimes heavy rifts and hate make for a memorable time. You gloss over the band like a Wikipedia article without really highlighting just how different the sound of the New Release is vs Intro not just a broad stroke of "a more rock sound" comment. This band was destin for much more (surviving members have on to play in much larger bands) but like with a lot of bands lifestyle and choices got in the way. If you really want to express your "opinion" then back it up with substance, not just "non contribution". American head charge, they opened for P55 at that BTW show. Nothing amazing but Im not gonna say because they didnt "contribute" they sucked. Take care
I think American head charge brought plenty to the table. And I don't consider Deftones or Black Sabbath anywhere near this convo but for sure I can dig what you're saying. I listened to their albums and was completely unimpressed. They have a song that is literally inches away from a limp Bizkit cover. The energy I saw was the same spastic 8th grade jump up and down energy many other bands were also doing, and nothing stood out like, at all. I've talked with drp about all this and even he was saying a lot of it was pretty on the nose and that they always tried to push the envelope when it came to the harder sounds etc. but that it was a little aimless as far as Jason's outlook went. Like down the line kinda stuff. Who knows, I don't think they did much in their career and definitely could've done more and better music. It is what it is I suppose. Thanks for watching tho my dude I love other opinions and I'm always willing to talk about it when people don't attack. At the very least, you watched the video and basically understood where I came from. And you even have me wanting to revisit them now
@@MultiStar84 Well dont judge these bands. Prong was awesome. And who can forget LFOs brand of Metal? And if you said Mower sucked to my face id punch you in yours. I dunno dude if you got something you wanna say mondo e mondo... 828-252-1110...lets let it be said...
i will admit they were pretty shit after j sin left and primer got a new singer but before that they had potential. they were a good band atleast in my opinion, saying there the worst in nu metal is a bit harsh considering the other small nu metal bands that were actauly udder garbage within the same time stamp.
This dude who made a video wouldnt have lasted 20 seconds in a mosh pit. What's the name of this band again?????? EXCACTLY. Primmer 55 is one of the best bands, I saw them open up at ozzfest and got the kick it with your old man to after that, he was a BADASS
I love how you made a critical video (as an opinion) and people think you’re hating! People are so closed minded lmao. I love P55 but they had their bad moments. EVERY band had their bad moments. I like that you had the balls to take on an opposing viewpoint instead of just butter everything up, respect 🤘🏼
Dude foreal. I wasnt even that harsh on them. I keep hearing they wer some mega influental group with all these great albums, when in fact nobody remembers them and they had one real album. So dumb
Loose Is one of the best songs of the nu métal era. Not sure what you smoking... i dont have a hige stake in nu metal. I like three or four bands but not much my music... but loose is one of the best songs ever.
I'm still listening to Loose and their album. It's very fun rap metal band that makes me wanna jump. only downside is those creepy interlude from the album introduction of mayhem... like interlude called Hey Bubba. what the hell was that. It was creepy.
Hahaha I really don't but tbh I dont have much of an opinion on them. I've always found them extreeeemely mediocre and they are constantly opening shows on bigger tours so it makes me laugh saying bands toured with them haa
Nu metals contributions are incalculable so suck it primer 55's first album is a masterpiece people are just jealous cuz nu metal fans will slap anybody
The worst, huh? This is one of the WORST videos! This band was fu$king awesome! Music like this was raw. Not the auto tune you're probably listening & use to. If it wasn't for bands like Primer 55. You wouldn't have some of the bands that are out now. "DO BETTER "
These guys certainly didn't invent the wheel but they definitely weren't the worse to come out of the nu-metal shit... That was a movement in music and though there was definitely some bands that weren't fantastic, majority of it was very good (for that era)....
@@mezzripper5708 How come you don't like Spineshank..? I think that their experimental sounds (eg, their album Strictly Diesel) made them interesting! They were like a combination of numetal, metalcore, industrial metal, and alternative metal.
