Ben Miller is really the most overlooked acotor as far as it goes for skill. He ist literally mostly " the quiet man " It is by far not so easy to play this role as may might believe.
I think that Connor was always My favorite because of his overall character archetype, I've just always loved the happy, bouncy, optimistic younger characters in shows like this (the only downside of this opinion however being that We all know the drill by now sense it's not only been done here, but it's also been exercised in almost every other conceivable action-adventure show ever at this point, Primeval and Marvel's Agents of Shield as only two in many examples, the young character meets the serious, wise, or cynical/sarcastic Leader either before or after said leader starts a group for something or another, the story progresses, the once happy, bouncy, excitable character begins showing maturity Via traumatic experiences, more shit goes down, old Leader dies, still more shit goes down again, a little squabbling later over who should get leadership and... bang, our once light-hearted optimistic character is now pessimistic downer who has control of some group or another thanks to fictional life and all it's tropes, Your Welcome for the summery).

The developers had confessed they wanted to hart to crate a Buffy-like sidecick. If you remeber there were also a lot of direct Buffy - references in the first parts. Xander had really fit into the BUFFY UNIVERSE but here, an advanced student rarly is THAT immature.
