@Rusalka U.S Judiciary and Bureau of Affairs can effectively end all communications and alliance terms with another country if the Government of said country has manipulated or otherwise coerced the death of the U.S Citizen. Meghan has a huge fan base in the U.S, if U.S citizens see the foreign government orchestrate the killing of their own compatriot, it can and most likely will cause a stir that the UK most definitely does not want.

I'm pretty sure they plan to go "Hollywood" because I think she wants to go back to acting. I believe they wanted out so they could seek out even more attention. Megan spent $500,000 last year on clothing paid for by taxpayers as opposed to Kate's $80,000. I think they are kind people, but they are not going to live simply, hidden away from the limelight.

I think he should be commended for his decision! It shows that he and Megan are not caught up in the titles and are not concerned with “public funds” taking care of them. There are enough royals being supported to carry on the work for the Queen!
