I remember sneaking downstairs after everyone had gone to bed to watch The Midnight Special - this was January 1980. They introduced Prince and the moment I heard him sing 'I wanna be your lover' I was hooked on Prince. I was 13 at the time and have been in love with Prince and his amazing music ever since. In 1999 I got to see him in concert in Wilmington, NC. It was the best day of my life to see him live and to have seats close enough to reach out and touch him. He was a genius and a legend. There will never be anyone like him again. Rest in peace, beautiful one.💜 0(->
Prince played 27 instruments, sing, danced, produced, acted , and i believe he designed his fashions. Unbelievably gifted on so many levels that im blessed to have experienced his greatness while he was alive growing up. I bawled like a baby in bed when i heard he passed. People like that should be protected at all costs. They are a gift from the heavens.
@@morbidmanmusic Keep breathing, one day YOU will die too. You really don't know when or how. He left behind a legacy that VERY FEW people have left behind. Truly a Genius! I don't have 8 of his CDs for nothing!
@@David-cv8zd He also played saxophone, flute, violin, viola, cello, lap/pedal steel, harmonica, and a wide variety of keyboard and percussion instruments. @1Skorpia Those "27 instruments" listed on his first album were all variations of the Core Four (guitar, bass, keyboard and percussion). I mean, it sounds impressive to list them out as though they were all different instruments, but at the end of the day they were all just guitar, bass, keyboards and percussion.
1958 was a good year to be born. Prince, Madonna, MJ.... and me 😁 Prince was and still is, my favourite, of that creatively stunning generation, along side Bowie.
@@elainedoornbos3566 I'm 66 but after I retire I shall be on the next leg of my travels. Ho'bo' world traveller since 2010. Not ready to put my feet up yet, unless the Almighty King calls me Home....which is unlikely but its up to Them. Keep smiling 😁💜🕊💜🕊
Here's my opinion on the death of Prince you all meaning the closest people to him die you knew he was sick.... How could you not know... Looking at him... I guess it is all the money thing... But he died on his terms... Performing and making people happy.... God bless you Prince... Rest in peace💜💜💜
HELLEO MAY I? ABOUT YOUR COMMENT, I FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT THOSE WHO DON"T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CHRONIC PAIN! I SUFFER FROM IT, I CAN'T WALK WITH OUT THE MED.S / WORK AROUND THE HOUSE, I HATE THE SIDE EFFECTS. BUT I CHOSE TO WALK, RAISEING 2 GRAND KIDS BY MYSELF. SO THE MEDS I THANK MY DR.S SO I CAN FINSH THE JOB OF MAKE SURE THESE KIDS NO RIGHT FROM WRONG ETC. THANK YOU FOR REMINDING EVERYONE WHAT OUR DEAR FREIND 🎼PRINCE WAS GOING THROUGH, GOODNIGHT.
my very first concert in 1985 was Prince. Here I am age 51 and still regard him as one of the best there ever was. Honor him by spreading love and compassion, as he did for so many of his fans. He was a legend whose shoes can never be filled. RIP Prince, you are still so loved and will never be forgotten ♥♥♥
it always gave me a weird sorta comforting feeling when he was alive knowing that somewhere out there on the planet Prince was funking out and blowing peoples minds ....and ALWAYS creating and playing music.
Prince was the , omg. I don't even have words. I saw him as the opening act for Rick James at Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth in the early 80s. Ok, fine. Prince totally blew Rick James away. I am an 67 year old white woman and I have to tell you that I was often among a very few Caucasians at concerts (Joe Samples in Dallas, to name one). Music knows no colors, no races. Music just IS.
In a few weeks it'll be 5 years and I still bawl like a baby. He changed music and the world. He'll never be forgotten. Thank you Prince for your contribution to the world 💜💜💜💜
It was a difficult day because I was sad. I was sad to hear that drugs got him. Then I remembered who he was. A little fire cracker! 💜✝️ NPG til the end.
Prince was, is and always will be the most perfect creature God has ever blessed this ungrateful world with. There will never again be another Prince Rogers Nelson the most missed and celebrated artist in the world oh hell in the entire universe for that matter. I’m here in 2021 still listening to his music is there anybody else out there who agrees with me today
After reading what you had to say about Prince, I felt a sigh of relief, relief I wasn't in a "zone" of sorts by myself. I Thank You...for being brave enough to speak the unfortunate truth of our Universe. Sad, but true. Once again, thanks for 'all' of your heart felt words. Sincerely, More than a Prince fan, Mikal j Brashear
Inch for inch and pound for pound there really isn’t another artist who could play and master as many instruments, write so prolifically, dance, act or perform as well as this multi-talented artist.
To bad he was a drug addict huh. Amazing how normal people are bad for doing drugs but its ok for famous people. How sad... Michael jackson was the same. And people worship him! Its so fucking sad that humans are so fucked in the head......
I saw Prince Perform at Maple Leaf Gardens, it was the very first concert wherein I didn't smoke a joint, didn't drink, was completely straight and it was the most incredible experience and concert of my life....Prince was insanely genius, I'm still broken that he's gone. Rest In Peace Prince. xoxo
There’s nothing like a Prince show. Soulful guitar solos, his voice, his dancing, he made you FEEL it! I miss that rush so much. Thank you Prince for giving me your all EVERY SINGLE TIME! Forever in my soul & my heart. You were one of a kind. The beautiful one. 💜PRINCE4EVER 0(->
i have seen him in concert. The show was good but he would not perform each song all the way or even midway. I do not like when artist do that. Luther Vandross performed all of his songs all the way and that is what I expect.
Beautifully said! Prince left an imprint on my heart forever!! ❤️❤️💜💜 I was blessed to see him, only once though....during his Purple Rain tour in Toronto. I was only 16 and I cried when he sang Little Red Corvette! I remember his long beautiful purple coat! And the way he moved and did the splits!! Omg!! That was magical with his music!! So sad he’s gone 💔💔💜💜💜
Dhani Harrison, was ecstatic for prince to start playing. You could see the joy in his face when prince started to play. Prince was a force to be rekened with. I think everybody in the band were so surprised at his performance. It wasn't jealousy but awe!!
Yes…I think Dhani enjoyed the performance…he later said during an interview that he thought Prince was being “a bit gratuitous.” Only after the others were a bit bombed by it. 😊
His late rock oriented period showed again how good he was. Of course he didn't have to prove anything because everyone knew Prince's capabilities. What's even better he made so much music we will be listening for decades if not century.
Prince is one of a few musicians who's loss hit me HARD. I was into Prince's music from about age 7 on. I loved nearly everything he put out after that and just thought he was a such a genius on many levels. I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert 4 times. The last time was on the HITnRUN Tour in Detroit about a year before he passed. All 4 shows were amazing for different reasons, but that last one was amazing. I was very broken up when he passed and it still bothers me quite a bit.
In the United States we have a massive problem of losing our legendary singers too early such as Prince, Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain, Whitney Houston, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Aaliyah, Left Eye, Karen Carpentor, Jimi Hendrix, Billie Holiday, Selena, Patsy Cline, Scott Weiland, Donna Summer, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Otis Redding, Hank Williams, Ritchie Valens, Janis Joplin, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ronnie Van Zant, Mac Miller, blues creator Robert Johnson, Eddie Van Halen, Frankie Lymon and many other singers. We pray for all of them and lets hope that the future is kinder to our American singers.
prince is so entertainin...came to do wht he did..glad he knew God.... all alone in the end or was he? inspired alot of people.....kindness goes a long way..Rip

I have lost a lot over the last 5 years ( family members ,friends and my idol and my musical savior Prince ) but I still believe that his music is the one thing that keeps me from giving up on everything and everyone else in my life. I guess you could say that I have very high hopes for us all but As long as there is ( I say Princes music but ) music in the world there is always hope. So please for the ones we’ve lost including ( the legendary and most celebrated artist in the world “ The Purple One, the genius , all things perfect himself ) Mr. Prince Rogers Nelson. I only want to see you playing in the purple rain ☔️ !!!
First off what a nicely done tribute/documentary of Prince. I don't think he was murdered, robbed way too early of an amazingly talented individual of his life by debilitating pain that forces you to use anything that is going to reduce that chronic pain to a point you can just get through the day....YES ABSOLUTELY!!! Prince was doing that on a full schedule and was attempting to dance and entertain. I am in this type of chronic pain unable to have a hip replacement yet and having 17+ surgeries on my other leg. When you are up for days, unable to sleep from pain, you don't have an appetite, you are irritated and moody, exhausted, upset with yourself because you can't do anything like you were able to before....trust me you will try ANYTHING just to feel "normal" again!! I don't know what getting up in the morning and actually feeling good is like anymore.... I share the same hardware and walk with a cane, so I am assuming that's what he had to feel like also and you do anything to try to take that away at that time every doctor out there was prescribing opioids loosely and incorrectly, with no guidance, so when you ran out you are on your own and I am going to guess he took something he thought was a "safe" prescription and the effects, unfortunately, led to a devastating loss to music and the people of this country!! Prince, like many others, probably ran out of his legitimate prescription and because you can't turn to your actual doctor for help, turned to buy them off the streets and probably got a repressed pill of Fentanyl and other garbage and well we all know the tragic loss to music, arts and politically and NO ONE can fill those.... Prince boots!!
It been almost 5 years well it will be on april the 21 and it still hurts that prince is gone but he will never be forgotten he is one of the best entertainer and artist and musiscan and a genius and we love and miss prince and he was a inspiration to us all
Death penalties for the CEOs of Big Pharma who rigged the safety data to support their lies that fentanyl was a safe low addictive pain killer and then used their funding power over the FDA to get it approved and then bribed doctors everywhere to over prescribe fentanyl to their patients. Thats a special type of Evil that profits by billions of dollars by killing tens of 1000s of people every year. 81,000 americans in 2020 alone. All of these Pharma dickheads are still free and now selling us their rigged data covid vaccines to us for billions and its all blue skies for them now that they deposed Trump and put in Joe Big Pharma Biden in the White House. Unfortunately in real life the bad guys usually win and never have to pay for their sins. Ultimately Big Pharma killed Prince.
Not all fentanyl comes from the streets. He could have been prescribed it. They make fentanyl patches. I'm going to guess he wasn't prescribed it, but just an FYI.
I miss prince and also Michael Jackson and always will ❤️ them both and it so sad we lost both artist and musiscan and genius and the best entertainer ever live I will always love them both and there music and there legends live 4 ever and ever
THE ONLY 2 PERFORMERS I CRYED THE MOST FOR WAS PRINCE AND IN FRANCE JOHNNY HALLIDAY. THEY TOUCHED SO MUCH MY LIFE. IT IS AMAZING HOW I STILL CRY PLAYING THEIR SHOWS. R.I.P. I REALLY LOVED AND LOVE YOU FOR ALWAYS. POUR TOUJOURS. I WRITE HOW I FEEL NOW AT 80 YEARS OLD. CAN YOU IMAGINE?
Such sadness on the day he passed away. I didn't want to believe it. He was so incredible. Watching him for so many years. Watching his revolutions and changes. His concerts and music albums has invaded my everyday life. His love life..... Every single thing he did I was there for. Then he was gone. Oh how I miss him. There will never ever be another like him. Never. 😔
Regardless of why he died, Prince was the perfect example of a life lived to its fullest. It had to be extremely hard to live in pain. Most rock stars go into a story of how the drugs hurt their life, with Prince all you hear is music.
If the government didn't crack down on medicine, Prince would still be alive. He died from counterfeit pills. There was no legitimate reason for the Americans to criminalize chronic pain sufferers.
Prince is and was one of a kind. Too great for this world. There are (so far) only three famous people I have truly mourned and cried for when they passed; Prince, David Bowie and Robin Williams. Two wonderfully *perfect* musicians and people, and one completely wonderful actor and person. I still mourn the loss of them. *Every day.* The world is so much colder now without them. Shit sucks, to be quite frank. The state of music is in decline, though there are some incredible newer artists out there, such as Jacob Collier and Ren. Bruno Mars has been starting to become someone I truly respect too, his latest music together with Anderson .Paak is funky, soulful *fire* and his Prince tribute at the 2017 Grammys was fantastic and it no doubt took massive balls to even try and go up there and perform. There are of course others too, but if I mentioned all of them we'd be here a while. Though none of them could ever fill the hole of the musicians I miss so much, they can all carve their own path to being who they should be in the music scene. With actors there will never ever be anyone as pure, giving and wonderful as Robin Williams again. He was the one who made others laugh, while he himself cried and felt like shit. He was the kindest, sweetest, most empathetic and wonderful man.
I didn't grow up listening to Prince, but once I heard his music - that sheer ferocity and brilliant musicality - it left me without any doubt that he was at a level of songwriting, producing, choreographing, singing and playing multiple instruments etc, that most talented musicians couldn't even dream of... Musically I'm in a totally different area. Not because I don't want to 'copy' anything, but that's just who I am. But as a multi-instrumentalist myself with my own studio, I do often think about how he would / might approach a new song, recording or arrangement.
He was a true professional He had unbelievable pain in his hip but no one in the audience ever knew. Very sad. This friggin' pain killers are a death trap.
Omg... That was so beautiful 💜🎸💜🎸 It was beautiful & sad all at the same time !! So many questions to ask !! # 1. Why was he alone ? So many felt on his last 🎭 performance that something was off !! I personally did not know him but I would have stayed somewhere just to be there & after watching all those performances it was that last one that got me ; his apology for not showing up you could feel it in the air & around you & his words he said it's like he knew 😥 ! Prince Rogers Nelson 1958-2015 Is a one of a kind Man ! Prince is unforgettable in everyway 🎉🎸🎊💜 We all lost something very special that day & no one can replace him ! I have loved many artist & musician's but no one comes close to you 💜 !! Let the Heavens embrace you & keep & shower you in purple clouds & purple rain
Prince & to all who read this & love him as much as myself 💜🎸 he was one of a kind in everyway ! There's not enough I can say about that man that can sum it all up in just a sentence ! He taught himself how to play every instrument and a perfectionist in everyway especially with his music & performing !! And a Genius let's not forget To watch him preform & sing he put his 💜 & Soul in all he did and it never was unnoticed ! We all love you Prince & Miss You 💔 !! I will always listen to your music it keeps me close to you & also to remember what a Genius you truly are🎸 Thank you for all you left us your beautiful music to carry on & memories of you with your videos I hold very close to my 💜 !! Watching this clip of you tonight from concerts all over just brought up something deep inside me just as it did the day you left us 😥 ! Godspeed my friend until we meet again !! In Heaven 💜🎸🎵🎶🎷💜🌹🎸💜 To that very Special Man I never met !! #HugeFan4Life 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
This man truly was music personified. He’d go away, create, release his creations and go where the music took him. Better yet, where HE wanted to take it! All he had to do was put out the bat signal!
Takes you by surprise doesn't it? I'll be blissfully doing something and hear the into to "Sometimes it snows in April" or "Purple Rain" and I'm broken again. Might be in the middle of dinner, or working out in the gym and I'm a babbling mess!! My father assures me that after his idol died in 1977 he still has these moments so don't hold your breath that is going to fade away any time soon.
🎶 It's strange how we feel so strongly about an individual we've never known personally....🎶...how we sometimes find ourselves sobbing uncontrollably.....🎶 🎵....feeling lost.... alone..... abandoned..... out of our comfort zone. 🎶 I know.... I've been there a few times in my 55 years. 🎶 🎵 I want to share something with you someone once shared with me 25 years ago...🎶...perhaps this will help you through your sadness.....🎶 🎶🎵 "You NEVER really lose someone you love..... you leave a part of yourself behind, and take a part of that person with you moving forward in your life" 🎶 🎵 My hope is that you find comfort in those words that have helped me through my struggles in losing someone. 🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵
I can't keep silent when I hear documentaries that say he had a drug addiction. Prince was one of the most health-conscious people there is. There are numerous people close to him that verify. He had hip pain but he did not abuse his medication. By now most of us know that the entertainment industry will knock a person off for various reasons. We must continue to speak for each generation that may not know.
He had hip surgery (a double hip replacement) because of the hip pain he had, but it became even worse after the surgery from what I've heard. Sometimes those surgeries are like a roll of a dice. My father had one too, and for a while he felt like a new man. But then it came back, worse and more horrible than ever. I'm pretty sure it might have been something like that for Prince too. But yes, you are completely correct; We have to stop the misinformation of him having an addiction issue. Sure, he was taking very, very strong opioids for his pain and was dependent on those drugs to function, but if he wouldn't have taken them he would have been in excruciating pain. He was still in really fucking bad pain, but not as severe as it would have been had he not taken the medication his doctors prescribed for him. I'm pretty sure we'd have lost him sooner had he not had the painkillers, because living with that amount of pain every day, *all-the-time,* makes you desperate and often leads to suicide.
The 1984 song "I Would Die 4U" is coded with his date of death. April is the 4th month of the year, U is the 21st letter of the alphabet - I Would Die 4/21
@lavenderbee3611 It's very interesting that all of them make songs or videos showing when they are going to die and exactly how they died. To me, this shows they knew that their time was up bc they made a bargain with the devil 😈 for selling their souls. They became the best this world has ever seen. But there's another world after we die and all the money can't come with them, that's sad.
Very, very well done. He was beyond amazing. Talking about him as a drug abuser is just plain wrong. Anyone watching his career and his astounding dancing abilities, fully understands the damage this did to his body. Treating the terrible pain resulted in what's called "tolerance." Completely different from a drug seeking drug addict. So sad that this fact hasn't been stressed in documentaries and reports. His talent was unbelievable. He played numerous instruments, wrote music and lyrics that have endured the test of time, and are in fact timeless. More importantly, was his appreciation and respect for his fans, and others in general. I love what men have said about him: "He's the only guy who can wear make-up and high heels, and steal your girl."
Hello donna, I am sorry to disturbe you. My Name is Beverley and I live in France, Europe. I am 57 years old and have been a Fan of Prince for ages. Unfortunately I have not even heard that he has died. May I ask you what happened to this fabulous Star. 😢
I miss him too! Watched him his first time at first ave. Had the pleasure of talking to him a few times. Made him laugh! My brother played guitar for him on a track we’ll never hear. Just a sweet man. Period.❤️01/29/23
Prince,he full of energy,of music, with the desire to transmit...creativity,sweetness,respect,pride of to defeat..Racism.Every tim, even afeter these past years, if I think bak on how he left this earthly life....Thin,and Fragile...my heart cries!!!..But for us alle he is alawas "Present" with his energy and his songs. I L❤ VE YOU PRINCE...❤💜💙💚💛
So sad PRINCE is gone!! But je is ALWAYS with us listening To all the beautiful and Perfect songs and such beautiful music! The Artist is STILL with us!! 😘😘😍😍😍
Prince believed in the resurrection as mentioned in John:5:28, 29. He began studying the Bible and in 2003, was Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses! He knew the Truth…and went preaching from door to door, announcing the GOOD NEWS OF GODS KINGDOM. THAT KINGDOM WILL BE RIGHT HERE ON EARTH, RULED BY CHRIST JESUS. He’s looking forward to what the Bible says in John 5: 28, 29. He will be resurrected right here on earth. Read the scripture in the Book of John 5: 28,29. Remember the Prayer that Jesus taught us to pray: “Our Father who are in Heaven, hallowed by thy name, let your Kingdom Come, let your Will be done on EARTH as it is in Heaven.’ God says in the Bible….”Here I am making a New Heaven and a new Earth. When things got too out of control with the sexiest stuff, etc. he had to leave….that’s when he went down. He read the Bible and went to the Kingdom Hall.. He was my brother in the Truth…. As he said….He’ll be back in the Resurrection. As Jesus said: “. I am the Resurrection and the Life.”
Prince was just a great musician, multi talented and a star, the lead, the headliner and he did so much, recorded so much, but I would have liked to see him last another 20 years at the least, he was past the commercial stuff and would have blazed some new trails.
Of all of the legends that we lost from David Bowie, Maurice White, Glenn Frey etc, etc, when I heard that Prince was gone it was a complete shock! I still miss him. R.I.P. big brother.
I still miss and support prince so strongly since I’m fan of prince for a long time that he always makes me so happy and cheerful to listen of his songs and watching music videos but don’t get me wrong, no matter how much we love him of this point but I’m always here for him. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for this. I've been a Prince fan my whole life! I named my cat Prince in highschool, growing up in an abusive home and being told so many times I was worthless I would just be eye candy for someone until I grew old and lost my looks, his music kept me alive, strong, determined I had purpose. I don't personally know him yet I feel like I lost my dearest friend and confidant. To quote the song Sometimes it snows in April "sometimes I wish that life was neverending and good things they say never last"💟💜💟
I met this young brother once when the band I was playing guitar with did a gig with the band he produced called The Time and we spoke briefly. I never would have thought he'd leave this earth before me. I had so much respect and admiration for him.
I will always love and adore you dear Prince Rogers Nelson!! Your amazing music is the only soundtrack of my life! Love you forever precious friend xoxo xoxo Missing you so much it hurts
He was as imperfect as any one of us, even though he did his hardest to appear not so. He obviously struggled with a terrible addiction & unfortunately help got to him too late. He was an incredible musician & performer, RIP.
Never in my life, have I felt so sad about the passing of someone who I did not actually know in real life. It still hurts like 5 yrs ago. And I am just beside myself watching this video. I still can't believe he is not here anymore. He was family, he was hope, he was fun, he was just everything!
81,000 americans were killed by Big Pharma in 2020 alone by fentanyl overdoses caused by Pharma's rigged data and lies that fentanyl was a safe low addictive pain killer...on the macro level Big Pharma killed Prince.
I still cry he will be back, and if you believe in our heavenly father. You will see him also. Jehovah bless you all, he was so humble in the end. His great showmanship in the end showed he got right with God. I'll see you soon you gorgeous man.. we all miss and love you.
I will never forget where I was when I heard the news about Prince. I was in my car about 5 mins from home when I heard on the radio that Prince’s had died. I turned on a couple other stations and they were all playing his music and discussing it. My subconscious must’ve taken me home cuz I was in a total shock…..literally. At some point, my phone rang. It was my son checking to see if I was ok. He knew that Prince was my all time favorite entertainer. After assuring my son that I was ok, I realized that I had been sitting in my car/driveway for about 30 mins. It’s gonna be a decade before we have such greats as Prince, Whitney, Michael, Ray Charles, to name a few. And that person is in the makings right now.
After RECENTLY,,,snatching People PRINCE TRIBUTE EDITION ...from my local Walgreens then watching this I CRIED LIKE A BABY!! REST PRINCE WE MISS YOU!!!
Man, what a great doc... I love Van Jones and Al Sharpton, taken a hiatus from the news because it was traumatic over this past year facing the coronavirus n economy in tatters. CeeLo n George Clinton n the Wonderful Musicans he inspires/aided in their careers... What a Legacy!!! I love remembering Prince's genius 😍 Talent and Ability to uplift others around him. Amazing!!! Love, Francesca
I had the pleasure of seeing him perform in the 80’s. A concert I will never forget. It was raining roses on stage coming down from the balcony as he sang and danced. I was in the back watching through binoculars. It was a sight to behold. 🌹🌹🌹
I was working at Magic Masters (Magic Shop) at the Hilton in Atlanta. It was April. (Sometimes it "Snows in April" 💜). The Night B~4? I was an "Usher at the Fox Theater in ATL. David Copperfield's 'Crew' was Stuck. His SEMI/Truck had slid (Snow) into the "Loading Dock". Prince was the "Next Concert" @ The Fox. All of the Hôtel Staff was stuck. Prince invited ALL of the STAFF to his Suite (Maids, ME!, Front Desk, Concierge Employees up to his Top Floor Suite and did à "Private Show"! 🤟💜🤟🎤
