Anyone else ever noticed that whenever he's been honored or giving a performance, he always give the spotlight to other guest artists or his backup singers or musicians and he would get out the way...G.O.A.T of geniuses
Yes, but during the induction of George Harrison into the R&R Hall of Fame, Prince(believe me, I dug him too), he overtook the guitar solo, & not pointing to the other musicians, nor acknowledging Harrison as an original artist.
BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE WERE SOME THAT DIDN'T WANT PRINCE TO PERFORM 🤔 UM--UUMM AND FINALLY HE WAS ACCEPTED TO PERFORM AND HE GAVE IT HIS ALL 💜❤️💜⚡🎸 WITH HIS EYES CLOSED AND MAKING THAT GUITAR SPEAK WITH MUCH RESPECT 👏🏽🎸💜❤️💜❤️❤️❤️❤️
He gave EVERYTHING when he performed. There will never, ever be another. He naturally just made people smile and enjoy every last moment of the musical treasure he shared. Transcendent.
Huge Prince fan here. He helped so many musicians get their start. Truly greatness. RIP. Still listening in 2022. I remember the day he passed. My sister called me and told me he was gone. I had to hang up, went home and cried. However, his musical legacy will live forever. 💕
The greatest Musician Genius who has ever walked on this Earth. There is no doubt about it. He came, he did his thing elusive masterpiece and when he was done playing, he left like only True Maestros do (no staying, no talking, etc.). GENIUS MAN!!!💜🌟
I'm so sad that Prince is gone. But, what an amazing time to live and be alive at the same time that Prince lived! How blessed we we're to live at the same time as some of the great musicians such as Prince!!
How could anyone be so good. A higher level of intelligence and talent and he found a way to continually keep delivering so much innovation, invention, and creativty, unlike anyone else's art form or art work. He just blew the lids off of all categories in the history of this planet, with new style and new flare. I'm glad I was fortunate to have lived during his rein. He will definitely live in our hearts and souls forever into the future.
They were!! Nothing like hearing him jam in his own house! I was there many nights. Will remember 4ever! I saw a few concerts, parts of them, before anybody else. He would us to try out new tunes. Many of the stuff I heard was brand new. He didn’t play classics- was tired of them.
Wow can you just imagine how incredible that would've been. The fact that he did so much for young/ local people to get them into music & off drugs or getting into trouble in the streets & he'd invite them into his home for a jam session 🎸..such lucky people !
Sheilabis a BAAAD Sistah Lady!!! It was so cool how she started the set in the shadows until it was her time to shine. I LOVE it when the house lights went up and the audience realized that it was Ms. Sheila E. (Escovedo) up there rocking the drums the whole time. Just look at Quest Love's reaction when her hit "Glamouros Life" dropped that first beat. True admiration, and "mad respect" from one sensational drummer to another! I also love it how Prince humbled himself, and having a good timewhile rocking the piano behind Morris Day and Jerome on their classic hit. Check it Out! Ciao!!!
Nuttin cold blooded 'bout *that* man, lol. Exception: The many guitars he'd borrow, as a guest, then toss & walk afterwards. Come on Prince, how'd you feel...
Prince by far the best musician in the world. Thank you for your musics Prince and everything you sacrificed. Rise Up In Power Brother, Rise Up In Power.
@@courylanders5154 not sure how Prince invented a genre in which he was no participant. When I think of neo soul, I think of Erika Badu, Jill Scott, Eric Benet, Maxwell, Kindred the Family Soul, Musiq Soulchild, Kem, Lalah Hathaway and others. Prince does NOT fit into this category.
@@careyconley4690 Maxwell and D'ANGELO I think were the first two musicians that really Introduced the art, but both were compared to Prince, and the majority of Neo-Soul has a very unique slant towards Prince in sound and feel.Again, my opinion.
The award was for him, but he brought on all the other musicians on stage. It takes a true artist to share his stage, and here he shares the stage with many... Love him, miss him dearly.
A genius but also a profoundly gracious man who used his public platform and voice for the benefit of thousands and thousands of children . Plus, he was unbelievably beautiful and HOT !
I don't either. Did you see how those people play? They played like they created these freaking instruments and then tap danced on them like they obeyed THEM!
@@sw9879 I always mention that to people. playing them is one thing and challenging to one who wasn't born with great talent. To dance, spin, sing jump, seems impossible until you see it. What these musicians under his guidance can do is nothing short of supernatural in my opinion. People who are lip synching on Soul Train aren't getting down that hard or even that convincing
Check out Japanese Guitarist musician artist singer songwriter Miyavi! He reminds me of Prince in many ways. Much taller but so talented! Have you seen his recent Fender commercial performance in You Tube? Check him out
I’ll never understand why people put MJ and Prince in the same category. Yes, Michael could sing, yes he could surely dance, and yes I even loved him when I was very young - but Prince *IS* music, he writes it, plays everything in it, produces it, directs the band mates, dances, and generally breathes music. They are both talented, but MJ is no where near the musical genius that Prince is, just my two cents 🤷♀️💜
@@kelleydavis100 Thank you! My sentiments exactly! I’m here 2021! I watch this video at least twice a week! I’ve seen them both in concert several times and I must say Prince use to always shut it down. I was at his last performance in Washington, DC my beloved City June 14th 2014 he was absolutely Phenomenal he even played some GoGo DC music! He was not of this world🔥🔥🔥🔥 oh and I must say Sheila E!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
PRINCE GAVE US 1,000,000,000,000% OF HIMSELF!!!!! if everyone took that lead......then this would be a beautiful world. If only we could love each other like He loved MUSIC................
I agree, however I wonder how much longer he would've been around if he hadn't given so much. I heard his hip problem probably started partly because of his jumping of pianos, etc. in high heels. This may have lead to his taking pain medicine, etc. Anyway, he was one of the greatest ever, and there will never be another one like him. He was a truly remarkable icon. One of my favorites.
During the introduction Angela Bassett read from a script I'M SURE. Anyone who really followed Prince's passion new that YES he loved music but he was MORE than music he cared about PEOPLE and gave so much of himself. In all honesty he was a philanthropist in every sense of the word! THANK YOU Prince for it ALL! You are missed and appreciated!
I'd even say that this man had music instead of blood running through his veins. He wasn't just musician, he was THE MUSIC. The greatest musical genius of all time, there is no doubt. And even though he was so much appreciated and respected, I still think that he was not appreciated and admired enough, that he was kinda underrated; that's how Big he truly was, unearthly talented on so many levels and - the Greatest he remains forever.💜
The fact he CHOOSE to share HIS moment with Morris and Jerome makes me tear up.... I hope before he passed they were able to squash that silly @hit with Prince not giving them the right to use the Time for their last album. This like all of his set's was a monster... I miss him every day.
It is apparent Morris did not...he keeps nipping at his piece of the pie...Yep it was business and Morris knows...It's in the Estates hand now...let's see if it can be plucked out...Warner's gave Morris an 18% Purple Rain raise.
I had goose bumps through the whole thing. Sheila E.beat the living crap out of her percussion rig!! And what happened to the guitar?! Most people will never perform like this in a life time and he did it all in 16 and a half minutes.
Some pass this way and they are just different. There's something special and unknown about them. There was never any like them and never will there be another. It's almost like they are not human. This guy was something way more than the average. A legend. A genius. An icon.
I loved watching the audience almost as much as Prince. You could see the joy and excitement in everyone’s face. Love how he brought everyone together and Sheila E is amazing!
PRICE was the blue print to music, therefore there will never be another Prince. He was a GOD of music. He is and will always be truly missed, but his music will live on through us. Sing on in heaven Prince😘
Prince was indeed a musical genius and music was his first love, his last love, his passion; he was in his glory whenever and wherever he was performing. He lived and breathed it. He could be moody and a bit snarky but mostly he was soft spoken, kind, giving and generous to a fault. He loved the Lord and always gave the Lord thanks. He was one in a million and he’s missed throughout the world.
AMEN to this !!! 👌👏👏👏I couldn't say it more precisely and more truly..🙏Unearthly artists and man, undoubtedly The Greatest Musical Genius of all time!!!💜🌟🎸😎
Yesss.....Thats how ICON does it!! Not afraid to share the stage with other greatness!!! So glad He allowed Morris Day snd Shelia E to shine!!! This never gets old each time i watch it its like the 1st time!!
Prince Rodgers Nelson is one of the best guitar of all time!!!! I rank him up there with the likes of Page, Clapton, Hendrix, Townsend!!! What a great loss only the best go first:( RIP Prince
For you New girls and some of you older ones ........they showed you thats how it is done! That performance was too much 🔥 fire . The standards can never be touch . Rip Prince a true artist
Simply a masterclass in musicianship,Everytime I watch brother prince The yearning for real music surges,Who can replace the greats that have left us way too soon,Always love and respect for prince, all the artists he brought us And his wonderful friends all around the world. Peace and be wild.Gone but your legacy is set in stone Prince Rogers Nelson
Man o man, what singular artist in our time can demonstrate so many styles of music in a single performance? This man was a True Music Genius, who lived and breathed music of all kinds. I challenge all other performance/musical artists to live outside of the box and Play music for the age of music not for the data driven record executives!
