Charting our way into the unknown yet again, we're taking on the title theme and final boss theme, Prince of Darkness, from Lagoon!
Although mostly known from the SNES version, Lagoon originated on the Sharp X68000. It has an absolutely killer soundtrack that has gone mostly unnoticed because, well... unless you've actually owned/played Lagoon, you've probably never heard of it!
The game itself is similar to the Ys games, so if you're looking for something like that to play, consider giving Lagoon a try.

I know, you're probably like, wtf is Lagoon, ahaha. But I promise this song is awesome. :D There will now be a short break for a few days till we get to the last half of the Side-Quests 2 songs, so I can get together the last videos and finish up some other things. Jonny, have you heard about Top Gear (SNES)? And the Las Vegas theme? Top Gear is very popular in South America, especially Brazil, so much that Brazilians made a spiritual successor called Horizon Chase, and with the same composer Barry Leitch, if you covered that theme you would get many brazilian followers.

Woo, Lagoon. Bad game, but I enjoyed it. Great music, and this is a pretty darn good version of probably the best song in it. For suggestions, I would go with something in the vein of this song, like Be Careful from Ys III. Other than that, I can recommend We're the Robots from Megaman 9 or Second Armageddon from Arcana (another fairly obscure SNES game).

As someone who played it as a kid back in the 90s and then gave it another go like 10 or so years later to see if my opinion on it changed, the game's honestly not that good. If you go in with those expectations though, you won't be as disappointed. The soundtrack (and intro) is the best thing about it. Jonny's cover here further proves how great the composition was. Fun fact: The title theme is also the final boss theme.

If you want to play Lagoon and enjoy it, I recommend playing the original Sharp X68000 version. There's an English fan translation patch for it.

I'm ancient enough to remember playing this in my early days of grade school. Like 2nd grade I think? Hahha yeah that final boss...what a damn nightmare. Demon with a whip for an arm that could teleport around the room lol. I still wonder to this day if I found all the items/swords/shields/armor lol. Well this is a surprise. Lagoon's got some pretty sick slap bass in its OST, even if it's a deeply flawed game otherwise. The intro gives me serious E1M1 vibes, when played on an electric guitar, now. My suggestion is the Hag 01 final boss theme from Banjo-Tooie.

ive heard that some 3D sonic games have used the title theme as the final boss theme... i know dragon quest rocket slime uses the dragon quest theme as the final boss music... and those are the ones i know off the top of my head
