A game, where no one was villain but still had to fight to protect themselves. Kaileena was defending herself Prince was defending himself Dahaka was only doing his job Man, what a storyline
One of the best trilogies ever created. When I was a kid every weekend I've waited to play it. Probably been stuck on it for a half an year playing over and over again. PoP and Legacy of Kain were my top games
@@MichaelVakili when I was a kid I played this game because it looked so cool and I loved it without never understanding English 😂 and now YEAAAARS later lmao I replayed it and got the story and yeah it's just too good
since some weeks there is an inofficial 1080p patch. I would say we don't need an cheap remaster. T2T is even playable in 4K. Check this out: ps2wide.net/pc.html
I will travel to island of time and I will block AC series developing. So that ubisoft develop this game and we can play new pop series. (ubisoft :You can not change your fate...)
Ubisoft I am the architect of my own destruction. I will travel to the island of time and prevent from assasin’s creed from ever being made. Then Ubisoft will have no quarrel with prince of Persia. Most people think Ubisoft is like a river that flows swift and sure in one direction. I have seen the face of Ubisoft I can tell you they are wrong. Ubisoft is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I am and why I say this sit down and let me tell you a tale the likes of which you have never heard.
KAILEENA: I had hoped the Dahaka would kill you. I had hoped Shadee would keep you from the island...or that he towers would finish you off... I even cursed the sword I gave you! AND YET YOU DID NOT DIE!!! PRINCE: Why would you do this? KAILEENA: I've already told you! I have forseen my future to die at your hands... but like you I've decided to change it!
I had forgotten how intense this theme is, especially as you play during that fateful encounter with Kaileena. The desperation both of them feel as they are locked in a fight neither wants to take part in but fate, apparently, gives them no other choice...
I'm surprised this song is not included in the trilogy soundtrack. One of the best boss themes of all time. Begins softly and builds up the tension near the end of the fights. That female choir has something eerie and fits the feminine Kaileena quite well. They also sound a bit as if death is approaching and they cannot change their fate. Those guitar riffs are pretty catchy too though are not punchy and tight as the rest of the game. These have a softness too them. This track has always mesmerized me :)
you have a good way with words, i experienced exactly the same feelings. I could add that the soft strumming of the bass connected with the climatic drum beat at the beginning fits the prince's whole encounter with Kaileena in the throne room perfectly. The bass track emphasises her exotic beauty and the mystery surrounding her character while the "war-ish" sounding drums suggest that said character is not particularly friendly. Her being able to teleport and use some type of magic compliments this whole vibe well, this is a masterpiece. I don't think words can fully describe the emotions such great tracks give us, if I was to put this whole track into a single word, it would be "inevitability"
I absolutely love Kaileena's theme, it does tell a lot just by itself. Kaileena is not an evil person, and the Prince is certainly not a virtuous hero in Warrior Within. They are just two desperate people who would do anything to save their lives. However, no one wants to come to this end ; for the Prince, that's probably because of some savior complex, and for Kaileena, I think it's because she sees her ancient self in the Prince's will to survive, and the way he naively hopes for an easier way out where both can be saved. You can hear this in the progressive tension, as the soft female choirs vanish and the "sensual Kaileena harmonics" (0:28) end replaced by some metal riffs. That's the Prince's denial to acknowledge the truth. But Kaileena has been desperate for way longer than him. She tried already, and failed dozens of times. She knows. For her, it ends today. Then it's the breakdown. One must go. And it won't be me. I have way more chills fighting Kaileena than the Dahaka. The "Good Ending" is just... Too much, if you ask me. But what a waste they have done with Kaileena in the next game. What a waste.
BEST storyline, BEST graphics (decapitations duh), best music, best gameplay, best voice actors, just everything freakin perfect. That's Warrior Within for you.
nah, my favorite quote "I WILL kill you!" - an awesome effect, like she was just as annoyed from the difficult fight as i was. makes me smile every time
From a storytelling point of view,it defintely is.The running theme in the game is how fate can't be escaped by everyone. The Prince can survive only if the Empress dies and vice versa. The Water Sword ending is very cheap because it's a last minute plot device were both characters can be spared. The bad ending is about the inevitability of someone's doom and completely in line with the bleak atmosphere of the game. The good ending would fit if the game had the same fable like atmosphere as the Sands of Time.
@@hebanker3372 Yeah, to be honest I usually don't mind "good" endings in games that are bleak, but after recently playing WW I started wondering if they didn't just suddenly put the water sword in because they realized that they need sands in a sequel. The sword also seemed kinda out of place to me, mainly because it doesn't seem to be "connected" in any way with the world in the game, what I mean by that is there's nothing that suggests that there's a weapon capable of killing dahaka and I find it kind of funny that Kaileena apparently doesn't know about a sword that's right outside of her throne room and could prevent prince from killing her.
CésarWalker I'm waiting too. Regardless of how thin the chance is considering the milking of Assassin's Creed and the likes. Still waiting. I mean, Serious Sam HD happened.
CésarWalker They should do a complete remake of the trilogy with next gen graphics and lots of content. Just imagine how beautiful these games would look.
exactly, like what they did with Halo. Same game but remade with new engine and graphics. New content will be appreciated as long as there is no Dlc involved. And let me use the dagger of time in warrior within!
This is the best song in the entire game. I liked this game, it's among my top 5 favourite games, but it had this edgy atmosphere. This actually brings back this persian feel that I loved the most in the first game, but also pumps you up with some balls-breaking metal.
Definitely my favourite game of the sands of time trilogy. I know some critics complained that the Prince was much darker and had a different personality than the first, but he's spent ten years being hunted by the Dahaka. For him, these are desperate times, and he's a desperate man. Of course his personality will change. Also the soundtrack was awesome. The only thing I didn't like about it was his accent mysteriously became American, but then Ubisoft did that ridiculous thing with Altair as well
Actually, I think he pretty knew about the Dahaka weakness, or at least suspect about it. He was in a ship after all, beside go to the Island. Correct me if i'm wrong
i have similar thoughts about the game but i disagree about the voice actor change being ridiculous. I think Atkin Downes did a much better job than Lowenthal. It may be because of my bias towards Downes since he voiced Yasha in Asura's Wrath though. I still think he fits the serious, angry version of prince from warrior within much better objectively.
What if the transition from smooth melody to explosive propellant symbolizes the Prince's intrusion in what would be a tranquil place were it not for his presence? Is he actually the game's antagonist, slaying hundreds to redeem himself for his own mistake?
EarFarce4 One thing I notice was that the song loops during the first/middle part of the fight but during the last part it changes to the more intense part.
As far that's the dark background behind the Prince of Persia Trilogy. The Prince was supposed to die back in the events of Sands of Time, but he cheated death. After a while the Dehaka went after him to set things right, be he even defeated him, and even then Destiny tried to put the prince down, but he parcoured his way right out of that again. But every time he cheats his death, his destiny get's even worse and worse. This Prince is running away from something he cannot escape, and every turn he takes only makes matters worse... pretty dark when you think about it
I'm here.Really miss this amazing game.I hope ubisoft make a new prince of persia game like warrior within.all the violence and anger and metal soundtracks.i miss the prince so much :(((((((((((((((
All those "Still listening in..." I had read them all because i was listening this since ever until now. One of my favourites videogames of all times, i had completed this game many times and i'm never tired for another round. Ubisoft should remaster the trilogy like Vicarious Visions did with crash (because the PS3 Remaster was awful, it looks worse than the original). PD: Kaileena, the greatest beauty of all videogames i have ever meet. And the Dahaka, One of the more bad asses monsters in videogames history. God bless Prince of Persia.
The Prince observed the hourglass. Footsteps clicked from behind and joined the Prince to observe. "Time is running low. You ready?" "I've been thinking, Kaileena... There's little for you on this island. And there will be less still once I've stood before your mistress." The Prince and Kaileena climbed up the stairs towards the now opened door. He offered. "Come with me to Babylon! You'll have a chance to begin a new life, free from the evils of this place." "I'm sorry, Prince. But I cannot take you up on your offer." The Prince looked at her and felt suspicion mounting in his head. He followed her and emerged into a vast chamber. This was no doubt the throne room. The throne room was a vast chamber. High tiered balconies admitted dim light. Gigantic statues of a griffin of some kind towered against the walls and at the middle of the room were column spires of burning incense. A long red carpet led up to a large throne canopied beneath huge velvet drapes. The Prince was on his way to meet the empress, though she was no where to be found. Otherwise... "Where is the empress? Where are the sands?" Kaileena depressed a lever, causing the shutter to drop behind him. The Prince was confused. "What are you doing? You trapped us in here?" Kaileena walked towards the throne and grinned as her machinations were unfolded. "I'm sorry, Prince, but only one of us can cheat fate today!" She grabbed a pair of heavily ornated curved blades and held aloft like claws. The Prince ultimately realised who was standing. "You... ARE the Empress!" She walked down and reminded him about their previous encounters. "I told you to leave. And yet, you kept coming back. I began to wonder. If you could change your fate, perhaps I could change mine." The Empress disappeared and appeared behind him to catch him off balance. The Prince narrowly avoided the blow and found he could vault over her head and strike down, and this seemed to do great damage till she disappeared from his landing. Unlike the woman in black, Kaileena was a formidable adversary. "You will not leave this island alive." she warned. The Prince lost no time triggering the Eye of The Storm. She blocked his attack. He probed for weakness. He should be wary of her appearance from his places where he would least expect it. When he dealt enough damage they locked blades and began a struggle for supremacy. He summoned every ounce of strength to throw her back. "For Babylon!" he declared. The Prince tried to silence her but the Empress was raised on a high vortex of sand, which the Prince could not penetrate. Tall, red-robed wraiths, armed with swords, materialised from below. As he tried to close to attack, they glided about the floor and blocked the creature's attack. Enraged, the Prince flung his own weapon, and scored a direct hit, the stricken wraith melting away. "Dust to dust!" The Prince expressed grim satisfaction. He snatched up a fallen blade and repeated the trick on the other. With the wraiths crumpled to sand, the Prince's amulet absorbed the sands. Hoping this was enough to withstand the challenge, the Prince saw Kaileena descending from the vortex. "Worship at my altar, whether you wish it or not!" Kaileena offered. "Nothing good will come of your sacrifice." he refused. Quickly, she appeared from various directions to hinder his progress. Blows came in rapid volleys and he was forced to block and avoid. The Prince loosened his attacks onto her, once he used the miracles to slow down time. He must use speed and agility to counter her swift attacks. She backed away and "I had hoped the Dahaka would kill you. I had hoped Shahdee would keep you from the island... Or that the towers would finish you off..." The Empress added betrayal to her tone. "I even cursed the sword I gave you! And yet you did not die!" She rushed to attack, forcing the Prince to block and kick her aside. Trying to make sense of her words, he still wondered. "Why would you do this?" "I already told you I have foreseen my future. To die at your hands... But like you, I've decided to change it." The Prince braced himself for any incoming attack from her. Now she seemed more cautious, and dodged his retaliation. He used the close walls to launch at her, yet this seemed to have little impact. His aerial assault delivered a satisfactory return, and he had only to ensure that he avoided her kick and sudden slashes to begin to wear her down. "I have seen your future and it does not look good." Kaileena warned. She was raised on the vortex. Recalling how he dealt with the wraiths, he realised he might use their Sand not only to rewinding time to save himself but also to charge his ability to slow time. The Prince quickly diminished them, collecting such stock of Sand as the hapless wraiths were forced to give up. "You would destroy all I have created." she wailed. They closed on one another and crossed blades again. Blades struck sparks of steel. The Prince gasped with ferocious effort. Every sinew strained against exhaustion. He threw the mystical being down. He rained down heavy blows. Kaileena tried to slash him, forcing him to block and give a counter kick. The Prince declared as each blow hit home. "Father would be proud." "I mean you know harm, Kaileena..." Weakened, she disappeared and reappeared. "But I must finish this." They both clashed and the Lion Sword broke. She groaned with anger. "You are a fool, Prince! No matter what you do, you still fail. Just as I have tried. And just as how I fail!" "I'm sorry, Kaileena." the Prince muttered, seeing her drop dead. He walked wearily to her fallen body. Before he reached it, an intense ring of yellow light burst from her, building an instant to a blinding flash that radiated across the throne room, knocking him back and shaking the very foundation of the fortress, which fell once to a dark shadow.
@4trollman4 Right? She always gave me more trouble then the Dahaka. Now the vizier and some random goons take her out by complete luck? Like nah fuck that lol atleast if you gona kill her make it believable or something. Two thrones was fun and all but making kailenna a damsel in distress pissed me off.
I'm grateful for having this trilogy as one of the most important games of my childhood, PoP WW was and it's the most badass game I played, I feel bad for the kids of today that just plays that shitty and toxic online games.
Cultivate yourself you know nothing in Video game Dark soul is mediocre cause Bed of chaos is missed and all the fire level! Cultivate yourself play MGS and shadow of colossus moron
@@ordalieduvoyageur DS1 was rushed by the developers because of the investors. Miyazaki wanted to work more on the latter half of DS1 (Lost Izalith, New Londo, etc) but due to lack of time, the areas/boss fights weren't done as well as he originally planned to
I hope sands of time remake does well, so we get to play this masterpiece of a game with breathtaking visuals. What a beauty it would be one can only imagine.
I find this to be a beautiful piece of music, as it expresses the dissonance between man and woman. The feminine vocals combined with the guitar does a good job of conveying the feeling of opposing forces. Light and dark, good and evil, Kaileena and the prince, all draws back to our brains' left and right hemispheres as we listen to this musical masterpiece.
If we got to know more of Kaileena she could had been the best female character in video games. She was dangerous, gorgeous, ruthless, had divine powers like a goddess and she was trying to escape her destiny just like our prince.
@@OchiiDinUmbraa No she's not a totally different character, and please no jokes on physical appearance. If you think deeply and focus on her narration (although ubisoft made her narration very passive but still you can know what type of character she is)
This track is perfect for Monica Bellucci, who plays her in the original version. In Italian we have another wonderful dubber on her (Giovanna Rapattoni).
Stuart Chatwood is underrated genius! Just try to listen to his Darkest Dungeon O and II soundtrack. That man knows his atmospheric build up. Jesus Christ!

My goal is clear travel back to the island of time and prevent assassins creed from ever being made. With no AC Ubisoft will have no quarrel with prince of Persia. Go then my prince but your journey will not end well you cannot change your fate.
Kaileena is still my BIGGEST CRUSH💖💖💖💖💖💖. I love her SOOOOOO MUCH💖💖💖💖💖💖. I feel extremely sad that she had to die in Two Thrones😭😭😭😭😭😭. Ubisoft please remaster the POP franchise.
They are going to. And I'm terrified of it. I wouldn't mind a remaster of WW with better graphics and a total remake of the TT, so that she does not go down like a helpless bitch. But honestly, I expect Ubisoft to just completely bastardize the WW.
@@xenon333 No I think the story is PERFECT. There's nothing wrong with it. I totally loved Sands Of Time, WW, Two Thrones, Forgotten Sands. I m waiting for this remaster of the first three games. Let's hope they don't ruin it. I also want more sequels. Forgotten Sands was a prequel that took place after the events of Sands Of Time and before WW. Now I want the next game to be a continuation after Two Thrones. Although to be honest I don't know how to continue it. The story is perfectly ended in Two Thrones. Maybe they should now take a break from mystical adventures and let the Prince go to some new normal battles between kingdoms. That would be perfect for the next new game. And also slowly build up for new mystical adventures where Prince will go in future as the sands of time story is over.
@@towkirshuvo97 same here buddy I aslo thinked a lot but I could not find any reason to continue the story from two thrones they completely ended the story with no doubts
Honestly, Kaileena is pretty easy to defeat if you can do the counter-attack move. If she slows down time, you can just use slowdown yourself. The only significant problem are tornados.
