"But I'm your great-great grandmother!" *Irene immediately brightens up and runs to her* WOW. She's so naive, yet it's cute. You have to like her! I wonder if she'll run to Froglip if he told her that he's her great-great grandfather or something... :P
"Lootie told me never to talk to strangers!" "But I'm your great, great grandmother..." Oh, well that changes everything! The weird magic and indirect answers don't seem to make her think twice about trusting a stranger either. :)
i really like the sound effects (?) for this movie though.. like the shoes tapping on rock and flapping of the dove wings, and every little action gets a pretty detailed sound
i love the instrumental they use when shes looking through the hidden rooms and i love her grandma i used to wish she was my grandma and i always wanted her hair it spakeld pritty
wow, the scene with her grandmother kinda had an ethereal quality to it that was one of the main things I remembered about this weird little film. That and Curdie's singing in the forest, the music, the thread, and that...that blue dinosaur creature thing in the mines.
luti talks a lot and it's interesting that curdie's dad believes him and encourages him + they work super hard while the princess is kinda just messing around all day hehe
I just love it how the nanny talks to herself as if she was having a conversation with someone elese... someone who cares to hear the crap she's going on about
For some reason, the "It's only a pidgeon." Line made me laugh out loud. Watch, next a whole flock of pidgeons comes down in a remake of "The Birds" and attacks Irene. Hah hah.
id really like to see this remade in someshape or fourm but not as a total kids movie pg 13 perhaps, brings back so many memorys i used to watch this alot xD
i lovwe this video i still have it i remember when i was little i used to pretend that i was ireenie and that i had a ghost grandma made of magic and that i was a princess hunted by goblins i used to love playing it lol how sad am i lol xx well im older now and still love tis video
I always had this gut feeling that the Great Grandmother was up to no god/had plans beyond this film. A bit sad it was never considered. But this film is still amazing
I always wondered about that when I was little too xD It's cuz they usually paint the backgrounds then draw the moving stuff. I don't know why they don't try to make it blend in tho, lol
freddie highmore, i love him :) i think he's too old now though. i watched the spiderwick chronicles the other day for the first time and it shocked me how much older he looked
*sighs* You know, Princess Aurora was led to a room with a spinning needle, then she nearly died. You'd think that Princess however-you-spell it would have learned from the mistakes of all of those other princesses.
the one thing i never understood about the movie was that old woman. its like she just appeared out of know where and claims to be irenies(or w/e) great great grandmother and she just accepts it without question.
@HEIGHTSIXFIVE You're right. It's not even American. It is the first animated film made in Wales, and it's both British and Hungarian. Of course, all Disney stuff is American-made.
*The maid mutters constantly to the audience for a good minute before Princess says anything* "Oh, are you looking for me?" No, we skipped ahead of this scene, she was looking for the Goblins.
Im pretty sure I wouldnt go in a dark creepy door that my cat found where theres spider webs and god only knows what! I won't even go in my own basement! lol
@jiszellediva It's part of Law 21 of 2D Movie Physics: The princess must always have a sense of adventure, but be completely helpless so as to attract Deus ex Machina such as random encounters with princes or magical events.
