Charles and Diana back from their honeymoon cruise on the Royal yacht Britannia, pose for press by the River Dee, at Balmoral. They give their fist interview since the wedding. 19.8.81
If there had been no Camilla she would have been jealous of someone else; the Nanny, his friends, the dog. Didn’t matter. If you are like that it kills the love eventually.
Bamcis100 I loved this... Pity the Press didn't leave them be.. They are not making the same with Katherine.. As William said recently.. One you Court the Press it's hard to get them out of your lives..
eleni Kominos yes but unfortunately, the press pries, tells truths and lies and when you are a public person, that is the drawback and there is little to be done about it. Of course, remember the Firm uses the media too.
When a romantic woman keeps her virginity, and manages to get to the man she loves like this, her happiness is so great with that happened, that she starts to love him even more...
@@The80sGreatestHits That's right, that's why Diana even until the end of her life, the only man that she really love was Charles, she told that a friends, that she still love charles.a few weeks before she died her told another friend the same thing that she continued love him and not Just that, she tell that if Charles told her to get back together, she would say yes.
He looks so handsome and she looks so beautiful, they both look so totally in love. How wonderful for William and Harry to see their parents like this.
Terry Johnson I think not Terry. The circumstances and Kate was a woman in her thirties when she married William and already had a taste of Royal Life. She has been protected and sheltered from the word go and she is surrounded by her family. Diana was thrown to the Wolves. Kate spent the night before the wedding with her Father, Mother, Brother and Sister. Diana stayed with the Queen Mother and had a tray sent to her suite where she spent the night alone. You will know the rest of the story. Kate is a woman in her thirties: Diana a teenage girl. Sad but true.
@alpha beta Convenient? Trevor Rees-Jones has got a massive scar on his forehead. He was the only survivor amongst four people of a devastating car crash. Lucky.
Diana looks so naturally beautiful here and love the outfit. She had already started losing the weight though. She yearned for Charles to love her like she loved him. So sad.
Even Diana, as bitter and twisted against Charles as she was in the 1990s, admitted they were in love with each other for the first few years of the marriage. You could see the chemistry between them at that time, in their joint public appearances. After their acrimonious split, Diana did at least recognise that her children William and Harry needed to know they were conceived in love. The marriage had burned out by the mid 1980s, after Harry's birth, and at that time both Charles and Diana embarked on affairs. His was with only one woman, his old flame Camilla, who he went on to marry. He was not a womaniser, and did not deserve all the crap Diana threw at him. Diana had many extra marital affairs, some with married men, though she slyly admitted to only one affair in her notorious 'Panorama' interview - with James Hewitt. It was hypocritical and dishonest of Diana to point the finger at Charles and Camilla, when she had enjoyed so many secret sexual liaisons while still his wife. When she said there were "three people in the marriage" she miscounted, because she 'forgot' to mention all her own lovers!
@@glamdolly30 she cheated because he cheated first. If Charles hadn’t of cheated I’m pretty certain Diana wouldn’t have strayed either. So basically it was mostly Charles’s fault for the marriage break down.
@@startracker5895 ...... Women are by nature nesters and relationship oriented who don't don't ordinarily jeopardize those things unless they've been very seriously let down by a husband. Affairs are often a last resort and not easily initiated, not like the casual sexual encounters men call meaningless in order to justify their stepping out.
@@umamaheshwari56 She really did adore charles. She did til the day she was killed. She never really cared about any of the other men, she was just looking for love that charles wasn't giving her. Insecurity is a real bitch if your not careful.
@@gaynor1721 her bulimia started a week later..after her engagement I think she binged more in the first few months but in June till the wedding and all after she purged more
Princess Diana was very witty and charismatic. She also knew what to say. Answering the question but adding humor to it. You expect her to give a straight answer, but she adds a twist.
Gone was the Shy Di of her engagement interview. Marriage changed her, but not for the better. If she had stayed the sweet girl that Prince Charles got engaged to, who wouldn't say boo to a goose, their marriage might have survived.
Gaynor Had Charles not kept Camillia as his mistress right from the beginning, Diana would have been satisfied with a peaceful life with her husband and not have gone too soon.
She's clasping Charles' hand in both of hers, and he looks down at them like he wants her to let go. Poor Diana, so in love with a man who was in love with someone else. What a cruel trick he played on her.
He has only been in love with him self, ever and whoever serves that purpose. His grandmother and Camilla telling him how marvelous everything he does is, was and will be. His parents know who he is and tolerate him but have a reserved view of his abilities. Poor Diana what a rude awakening next to the toad.
Diana looks so happy contented in that perfect tweed suit but ballet shoes?.charles even looked happy too we'll it was early days -they probably tried to make it work but Camilla kept getting in the way!
@irishxxkelt What I meant is there was no love from Charles, whatever was Di's problem, if he had loved he would have supported her. Diana herself confirmed she got bulimia because of lack of love and Camilla already being there on the scene. Charles expected Diana to accept which she refused to. Being young, she probably took it badly.
Prince Charles was Diana's first real boyfriend as well as her husband. Perhaps if she had more experience with affairs of the heart, she could have learnt to control her jealousy toward Camilla. Yes, Charles and Camilla were still in contact as friends do, but he didn't return to her until 1984, the year Prince Harry was born.
Hmm when even the day before your wedding you realize there is another woman, and then on THAT day you're forced to endure seeing the other woman at your wedding... I have heard Diana wanted to cancel the wedding.. and was talked into going through with it by her sister.
I am not so sure. More probably she was infatuated by the prospect of becoming a princess... would she have married Charles if he wasn't the heir to the throne? dubious.
@@ImNotADeeJay they clearly picked a young 19 yo yo marry his old ass because she’s pretty , smart , good morals , wealthy family . Great pick for breeding in the royal family eyes . It was more pressure on the marrying part . But he had no choice his mom didn’t want him marrying Camilla or to have kids with him
I'm sure they DoD want it to work..but like all marriages....it's great at the beginning....and sometimes things change....especially if you font know each other enough....however this is my favourite of the two of them together....Diana is gorgeous
Diana would have hated ageing, and would have had face lifts and all kinds of cosmetic procedures to fight it, making herself look desperate. She would also have been wildly resentful of her younger, more beautiful daughters-in-law Catherine and Meghan taking the media spotlight off her. Had she lived into the internet age, she'd have been subjected to a lot more scrutiny, which would have exposed the vindictive, ruthlessly self-serving woman she really was. In dying young and beautiful, Diana has maintained a strong fan base of people who would have lost interest in her long ago, had she lived and become the pathetic figure she was destined to before she made the mistakes that killed her. On her divorce, the Queen generously offered Diana a top, Scotland Yard trained security team at her beck and call for life, of driver and bodyguards. That's the kind of VIP security money alone can't buy, and the Queen felt she deserved it as mother to the future King William. But Diana churlishly turned down her mother-in-law's gift. Had she only been sensible, and recognised she needed to be safe for her two children's sakes, she would not have died in a car crash. Instead Diana foolishly put her security and safety in the hands of the shady Mohammed Al Fayed, while she was sleeping with his spoiled, wastrel son Dodi. Mohammed provided a reckless, star struck driver Henri Paul, so excited at chauffeuring the Princess that he goaded the paparazzi into chasing them. He was also well over the legal alcohol level, on a cocktail of prescription drugs, and not even insured to drive the Mercedes when he took it into the Pont d'Alama tunnel at high speed and lost control of it. The supreme irony of her death is it was totally avoidable. Crash experts agreed, had she only given her two dependant children a thought and taken 3 seconds to fasten her seat belt, she'd have walked away from the crash with bruising and a broken arm. Ultimately Diana and her poor decisions, were responsible for her death at 36.
@@Jennchannel24 You're welcome! I'm a British journalist who reported for national newspapers in the 'nineties. Everything I've stated is accurate and already in the public domain. Yes, the conspiracy theories that she was murdered are utterly ridiculous. No one had any motive to assassinate Princess Diana - frankly she was too stupid to be a threat to anyone! That dumb 'theory' was aggressively pushed by Mohammed Al Fayed, to deflect attention from the critical role he played in Diana's death, and of course his own son's and Henri Paul the chauffeur's (not that he got much sympathy, after his autopsy revealed the alcohol and drugs in his system). But of course Diana was a grown woman of 36 and a mother of two dependant children - she was ultimately to blame for the bad choices that left her vulnerable and allowed a disaster like this to happen against all odds.
She was so thin there. I’m from Aberdeen, a friend of mine on a school outing , met them that same day walking on the banks of the River Dee, Charles was chatty with the group of 8 school children, but Diana was quiet and stayed back behind Charles....quite sweet when you think about how she blossomed into the caring child loving woman we all know.
Handsome & Beautiful Loving Joyous Couple Diana said when they first met, Charles was all over her. They were very much in love. Charles said he would be the first King that didn’t have a mistress if he didn’t go with Camella. Diana wouldn’t stand for that.
It was not. They had nothing in common. She was playing a part when she met him, as her family had ambitions to be connected with the Royal family. He fell for her. You can see in other early footage he is smitten with her.
You're making stuff up, he did no such thing! They were clearly in love at the start, but they simply weren't compatible. They had nothing in common - it was an arranged marriage and they rarely work. After they had the kids she picked up with a load of different lovers (though she only admitted to one, James Hewitt), and Charles turned to his old flame Camilla, who was the love of his life and eventually ended up with. It's sad Diana was so bitter and twisted about the failure of the marriage and tried to publicly crucify Charles and Camilla for finding happiness, just because she couldn't. She didn't want Charles herself - she was bored to tears of him, as she made obvious in their joint public appearances from 1986 onwards. But she didn't want Camilla to have him. It was sheer, childish spite! Diana's media war against her husband with the Andrew Morton book and Panorama interview hurt her children terribly. She should have been more mature and kept her mouth shut for the sake of her kids - and her own dignity! What did she have to moan about anyway? She was young and beautiful when she divorced, with every chance of making a new and happy marriage. Charles was generous in the divorce settlement, giving her £17 million, a Kensington Palace home and staff at her beck and call round the clock, 365 days a year, the Princess title and top VIP status. She had a wonderful privileged life thanks to her much maligned ex husband - but she threw it all away by stupidly mixing with the shady Al Fayeds and failing to wear her seat belt. Diana was the architect of her own doom.
Not at this point there wasn’t. She couldn’t cope with the idea he had had previous girlfriends. She was insanely jealous and insecure at times. And later sought to make herself look like a saint and damage his reputation as much as possible. In the same interview she said she took fifty percent of the blame for the breakdown of the marriage.
The press practically chose Diana for Charles by saying how suitable she was. What they meant was that she was an attractive blond that they could put on their front covers to sell newspapers, magazines and books. It was this obsession with money that killed Diana. The press created her, then destroyed her, with all the dirt digging.
Gaynor No they did not! According to documentation, Lady Fermoy and the Queen Mother thought that they would make a fine couple. Not the press! The press jumped on it once they'd got wind of the relationship, yes. But the press never got them together
@@StStStS i agree in part, Charles was pushed into the marriage for posterity and crown. Diana, from intimate reports, friend, family, footman and personal protection officers talk about her horrific shock of not being loved, that would push anyone over the edge particularly one who was barely 20 years old. Frankly it was a lose/lose situation
Charles looked like he was bored from they started filming yet our beautiful Diana seemed rather happy. Now the people's princess is dead and Camilla in her garments this is a really fucked up royal family. RIP Diana
I hope Lady Diana lives in paradise, because with her lives we know that woman must be careful with the man.......woman must be strong to be a mother...
“Have you cooked a breakfast yet?” “I don't eat breakfast.” I know this was a joke, but knowing of her later eating disorder makes it a little foreboding.
Ironic... We would find out years later that Charles would be carrying photo's of Camilla while he was onboard the royal yacht with Diana and would also be discovered by his young bride wearing cufflinks with two "C"'s intertwined.. Diana would also tell Charles as they walked away from this interview at Belmoral... "Well Fred.. Now you can run off and phone Gladys." Fred and Gladys are Charles and Camilla's pet names for each other...
She did her part of misleading as well; fishing and walking with him, saying she loved country life. It was all to win him. As soon as they married she told him it was boring and she wanted to go to London. Can you imagine his shock and disappointment? Whatever people think of his looks, it has been forgotten that he was probably the most eligible bachelor in the world. And she was brought up to set her eyes on a Royal husband. Disaster on both sides.
This was the best Diana ever looked. So fresh and natural. She too soon thereafter wore too much make-up that made her look hard. And her hair was always sprayed with too much hairspray and overly styled.
To be clear, they were a lovely couple. It is a shame that a woman of low virtue coveted Diana's life and made every effort to wreck her marriage. May Princess Diana rest well and May the Highest God judge Camilla Parker
Camilla was well out of the way when the marriage was okay. She had her own marriage. Diana was vengeful and keen to make herself look wronged when the marriage failed.
Zita Carolina Charles why can't u treat Diana WTH love like in the video. Both of u look natural just married young couple in love. Why can't u support and guide her coz she was so young need guidance and love. Even it's too late. Most of the Brits had decided only Diana can become the queen if u are to be crowned as the king.
