The English dub for the first episode just released. I finished watching it a few minutes ago and while I personally feel that Bam's VA's voice doesn't quite fit because it's doesn't sound young enough (although we don't really know how aging works in TOG anyway lol), everyone else's voice fit really well...especially Yuri's and Evan's. Also, the op and Ed were the English versions of the songs so that was cool to hear. You also get a taste of Rak and Khun's voices at the end. It'd be really cool if you recorded a reaction to a few of the English dub episodes for your thoughts on comparing voices, how they executed the dialogue and translation etc.

Dude you have no idea when they dropped thouse girls I overreacted so much, ahahahaha. Also the Khun look in the direction of Hoh and the all message thing was handed soooooo well. For us readers is obvious what that look meant but I also whated anime only reactions videos and many people think that Khun give that letter to Hoh: because they remembered that he is a manipulative and sneaky persone so they think that he is using Hoh to betray Bam or he is using him to kill/hurt Rachel to get him away from Bam,and that makes so much sense for the way that the anime has handled things so far. Is just soooooo gooooooooooood

"How did they know about the chicken pie?" It's not a leap to guess that during his research on Anaak, Khun learned that she ran away with a chef famous for chicken pies. He is best girl after all.

I think Khun was probably just observant about what she had been ordering in the cafeteria up till then. In the manhwa the way they manipulate Endorsi depended on knowing what she ate as well.

I liked this episode my only problem was the ending, it wasn't bad but I didn't like that they cut some things I really liked from Quant, I get why they needed to cut it but still. In the webtoon, Quant casually walks up accurately guesses the number of teammates near Shibisu and what position they are in, which to me shows that despite being portrayed as the dumb one he is still smart. Also, the webtoon better shows why Quant got mad, the anime did an ok job at it but I think the webtoon did it better. It better shows that he got mad because to him the fact that they tried to get him instead of running away means they view him as an easy target and is viewed as not even a Ranker. Other than that I really enjoyed this episode and I can't wait to see the rest of the hide and seek test.

I totally agree. It felt so rushed. I suppose they wanted to end on a cliffhanger, but that seems like a silly excuse. Quant's portrayal was so wrong. They're skipping a lot of technical info too, which I really really hope they'll make up in later episodes. I don't know why they pushed Hatz together with Bam in that Endorsi scene, that felt unnecessary. Like they're really pushing the Bam x Khun agenda. They need to show more Bam- Endorsi scenes in future imo.

I somwhat agree, though we should wait for the next episode, I think they will probably cover most of it at the beginning. I loved the episode, and its great they started strong on the Hide and Seek to provide action and not full exposition episode, so they might step back at the start to set up the stage for the rest of the test.

↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓ 1.They didn't mention about 10 great families in the beginning 2.They didn't mention about 'Baang' which is the most important to wave controllers. -> The amount of shinsu Quant can use during the 'tag' is limited to '1 baang, 10 myun, and 10 soo'. 3. Bam didn't use Khun's pulley to pursue injured Anaak and Endorsi (Bam x Endorsi / Shibisu x Anaak) -> As you guys know, in the next episode we will have Khun's moment but Anime only ppl might feel random about his pulley. (It was SIU's little detail) 4. No explanation about 'Best Seed' 5. Hwaryun was placed in Bam's team. (She was in team A in original) 6. Leon 3 fainted. 7. They added new setting which is 'Anaak(Princess) was kind of nice to Endorsi when she first became a princess'. 8. Quant has less impact as a ranker.

Also, the fact that Anaak was kind to Endorsi when she became a princess means that Endorsi became a princess before Anaak Jr. was even born making Endorsi quite a bit older than Anaak. In the webtoon, Anaak Jr. is older than Endorsi.

Look for those who complain about the lack of details. You guys should remember the anime is approaching this with the mindset of Bam in consideration. Anime onlies know nothing about the tower and they will discover as Bam progresses At this point of the story, Bam has no sht idea about the 10 families or deeper details into Jahad and the tower

The part when it shows the other princesses of jahad literally confirms more seasons for tower of god like maschenny doesn't come till way after season 1 I'm so hyped I really hope this means there will be more seasons to come 😁

I think she was actually one of the first characters we see in season 2. Since if I remember properly the first scene of season two was from Yuri's point of view.

Quant's battle scene was less than the webtoon and the lighthouse was broken, but it was unfortunate that the background was not dark. This episode doesn't seem to show the ranker's first impression, the dignity. I was a little disappointed

The start of the hide and seek was terrible. The tension, which was developed really well in the webtoon, was non-existent in the anime. They add some meaningless filler to this episode, like how Bam makes a pillow for Laure, at the cost of excluding some important scenes, such as Ren's explanation about Bang and the most of conversation between Bam and Khun. They also exclude the Khun's pully which was a foreshadowing for the upcoming episode. Overall, it was a really bad episode. I have been reading the tower of god for more than nine years, and in my opinion, the adaptation was pretty much disappointing until now.

I've read the webtoon for awhile to and I love the anime ! Animes are bound to cut out stuff look at promised Neverland anime compared to manga! They have a bunch of inner monologues and mind games which they cut from the anime put different things it still was a good anime nevertheless

@@mr.non-existent8137 People just like hating because they're biased towards the source material. In my opinion, the fights were handled really well especially the crown game between Endorsi and Hwa Ryun. I actually prefer the fights in the anime over the webtoon so far.

Spoiler comments: I hate the ominous music around Ho... It treats the audience as too stupid to understand the upcoming betrayal Even making it obvious Not to mention the complete dumbing down of khuns plan to steal the badge from Quant They are adding so many great details to the improve the character development but they seem to butchering the some aspects of the story it's sad I hope they correct this flaw in the next season Long term animes only survive when audience is invested in characters and the story plot They have done so well in the character department but are ocassionally dropping the ball on the story front

When bam talked to Endorsi i liked it a lot more in the webtoon (spoiler) When and bam and Endorsi talk SIU put a panel of Endorsi's broken shoes as a sign of how Endorsi might be one of those princess the breaks the rules and fall in love with bam the anime ruined it by putting hatz there

The episode was great and I'm fine with the cuts for the most part like not showing Khun's pulley or not explaing baangs (for now), but making Quant look weak/unintimidating is the main problem, I hope they are saving budget and are intending to make him go ham next episode because from the offset the hide-and-seek test was filled with tension in the webtoon. Quant from the beginning of the test changed his mood almost immediately, even before getting mad he was frightening and it was clear there was a big power difference, but in this I'm not getting any of that impression, not even close, if they end the arc with Quant just looking like a fool and only "slightly" being stronger or some kinda situation like that, I'll be upset since this was my favorite test in S1

@Lethal_Trilogy Royale I like the anime adaptation, I do think they will explain it it but I'm not 100% confident, I'm far from the most cynical webtoon reader if you look at the ToG reddit plenty of people are absolutely shitting all over this episode because of the ending, I just hope it picks up personally.

(Tiny spoiler for Anime onlys, proceed with caution) But I feel they are cutting Andorsi falling slowly for Baam, they have already altered their interaction a lot, it's not gonna be as natural if she later insists on a date, if they even leave that in. That would also mean cutting a certain scene right after TWSB arc

12:35 "why is Hatz there?" YEAH WHY WAS HATZ THERE?? That is such an important moment and the foundation for Endorsi and Bam's relationship, especially with the broken shoe closeup which was so symbolic. They skipped all of that along with the Pulley too, just to show Hatz there. Ruined my ship completely. Also, the lighting in the hide and seek was very bad, since the dark unlit background of the game was extremely important. I hope they fix some of that in the next 2 episodes

@@Oweru Err i believe you mix things up, pulley isn't Bam stuff (i won't precise for spoiler reasons). Bam and Shibisu were only using it during the signatures event.

@@Oweru that wasn't Bam's friendlist in the webtoon. It was Hatz's friendlist. He only made it look like that it was his. And the pulley is used in the hide and seek game too, so I wonder how they'll fix that

i read these chapters a long time back so I don't remember all the details as much I like quant's goofy character, he is very egoistic and unreasonable unlike lero ro which is very annoying at times

The animation doesn’t make Quant feel the same, the way he smiles and the way his voice sounds like that. And the way he has his arms behind his back. It just feels off compared to the webtoon. The animation of Tower Of God isn’t bad it’s just that the animation lacks some of the elements I would expect. Whenever a character like clashes swords with another character it doesn’t feel like it has any weight to it. And the sound sounds totally wrong, another example is when Anaak like tried kicking Endorsi and Endorsi grabbed it there was no like wind behind the kick or weight it just felt like she put her foot forward.

i have a problem with the bam endorssi scene. there's no broken heels on the floor, no scene with the suspendium being used as a pulley for the food to foreshadow the fight with quant. but yes, as an anime episode, not bad.

i don't know why some webtoon readers have a little problem with changes in history, when i heard that tog gets adaptation i was exited because i wanted to see animated fight, i don't mind if they change several scenes even better because even people who read webtoon may get shocked ( 5 episode bam shinsoo exploded )

Guys make sure we get Bonehead to 100k subs! If we do the bonemiku worshippers will be fed Anime Spoilers! Looking at the princesses scene made me realize that the princesses shown, Yuri, Endorsi, Lilial, Shilial, Mascheny, and Repellista, are actually almost all of the princesses we’ve seen in the webtoon. The only princesses missing are Adori, Maria, and Anne, all of whom we’ve never *really* seen, and Garam. Garam is almost a defector princess, so I understand why she’s not there. Still, it’s interesting.

Spoiler I kinda don't like how they already showed the princesses like Maschenny and the twins (I forgot their names lol), it kinda takes away the mystery behind them. When I first read the webtoon the fact that you don't know what the princesses look like until they're actually relevant to the plot made their impacts stronger. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I just don't like how they already spoiled those who haven't read the webtoon yet lol.

People are all talking about what was cut and all the changes, but I really think we have to talk about the worst part, the translation. It is really beyond me how Crunchyroll, a company that based their whole concept on translations, can invest millions into this cooperation and then fuck up the last part that should be their easiest part. It is not that the translation is factually wrong at any part, I don't know Japanese enough to make any such claims, but you can clearly see that the translators didn't have any idea of the source material or the context, which makes the translations ill-fitting and way more confusing than they have to be. A simple example of this episode would be when Hansung Yu says audibly "Nice idea" and the subtitles translate to "Good idea" and how confusing the whole game explanation went for no reason. Sure part could be the translation from Korean to Japanese to English, but you could mitigate that problem in large parts by just having a translator that knows the source material and that can give a translation that at least makes more sense in context. It is baffling that Crunchyroll spends so much on this anime and the promotion, but has the worst possible translation that detracts from the actual viewing experience. I can't be the only one that knows the source and has to answer question every week from people that are unnecessarily confused by this translation.

22:40 I love that battle music! Serious props for the sound team. The sound track, the artistic design, the voice actors and they are doing very very well for an anime adaptation, you have to cut content to fit a time allowed but they have done a brilliant job in character building while giving lore and exposition and every episode the test gets more intense and exciting. this better not be an anime that we wait years between seasons.

It bothered me that they made up that thing with the "Endorsi knew Anak's mom" when Anak is older than Endorsi in the manga and that they put Hatz in the scene with Endorsi and Baam when the fact is that the scene was meaningful in the manga because it was only Baam the one that showed up

@@whitleygrunstra2034 In the Webtoon, everyone had to make a friend list, not just the Scouts. Bam's friend list is used to threaten him with, because it has all the people he considers his friends. Hatz or Shibisu's friend lists would only show that Bam is friends with them.
