buy far.... the BEST AND MOST EXPLORATIVE cure and printing series I have ever seen ..... fantastic research and in the name of science ... spread the good word brotha! LEGEND
Great video. Supports drive me crazy. Either they don't come off or if they do, the surface looks like crap. But this video and one of the others I have watched has given me a few ideas at least. Probably I need to create a test model to test different support settings.
Your not alone. Supports are a pain. But that’s the point of the video to teach you how to test and get perfect support for your printer. Good luck and happy printing!
I use tree supports universally since they take less time/filament, what would be the advantage to using standard supports with your optimisations over trees?
Two parts to my answer. 1. This series was really just focused on standard supports. 2. I didn’t cover this but I think the advantage is on a case by case basis. Tree supports are great. I used them but I have found it there are large areas that need supported standard gives me better results. You bring up a great topic and I’ll add it to my list to do some videos on the differences and which works better on different scenarios. Thanks for this comment it truly brings up a good point that should be discussed.
not sure if you mentioned it but you didn't say anything about support x/y distance, i realized half way through testing that was my biggest issue being to close
Using Cura 5.3. I am trying to adjust the bottom/top infill density and bottom/top floor distance, but they are grayed out. Cura says it's because other settinga have overwritten them. It mentions the mesh setting. But toggling that does nothing. What settings should I look at to make the density and floor diatances adjustable?
There are multiple settings that effect other settings. I would look at what the helper box says of what it’s effected by and start going through the list and reset the settings of those. It’s hard to know without seeing it.
@@ItsMeaDMaDe helpful doesn't even begin to describe how valuable the information you provide is, I have been printing for about 2 years and I'm just now learning what all those setting under support do and you just expanded my knowledge by double in less than 1 hour
Well this only covers standard supports. There is something else called tree supports but I haven’t done any videos on those. This video is about things you can do to standard supports to print less filament.
At the 1:57 mark you forgot to put a link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3WJAR9-waco.html in the Upper Right Side. I believe it was the Remove Supports Roof & Floor
Tree with brim, zero infill, 2 walls, concentric, 90% top interface, interface gap at same as line height or 1.5x it... extra help in experimental, bridging settings, fans at max when bridging.... problem solved.
They are there. Make sure you have enabled via Settings... Configure setting visibility... Way down in the experimental area, easiest to search for "conical"
