Any Software modification on the ender2 needed? Can i just use the stock cura profile for this or do i need a special step setting? Does it fit like adrop in replacement?

You need to set up your slicer for TPU, but for this EZRstruder you don’t need any modifications

Hey! +Peter Solomon - So cool. Can you pls tell me why you prefer the SEEMECNC EZR STRUDER over the MACEWEN3D FLEXI PLUS? Thx and thumbs-up! PS - I finally assembled my Ender 2 and am kinda looking forward (excited) to see what it can do. Thx again.

Thanks for the kind words. I have tried many extruders including MacEwen's which are very good extruders. But I was never able to get such a dependable and confined filament path as I have with the EZR Struder. The MacEwen version which worked best for me for flexible filaments was the one that allowed the PTFE tube to pass through the coupler to get as close to gears as possible (one of my earlier videos on flexible filament printing shows this solution). I then cut a V shape in the end of the PTFE tubing to match the space between gears. It needs to be as close as possible. Over time the V notch became harder to find the hole when feeding in, and after longer periods with retraction on harder filaments it began to work its way backward toward the gears and was eventually pulled in. This is just my experience and I do not want to knock the high quality of the all metal extruders. I am now so satisfied with the EZR that I have replaced it on both of my Ender2 and one CR-10. good luck!

Is the Capricorn tubing necessary? BTW, a whole new extruder seems like a pretty serious mod......

odinata Capricorn tubing is not necessary, I just had extra from my CR-10, still don’t like the smaller size, want to try the larger. A new extruder is not a serious mod, it’s simple to put in. I had tried everything in the past, modifying my creality extruder, printing parts for it, all aluminum extruder, modifying the all aluminum. you can get most to print flexible filaments, but they become more or less dependable and more or less fiddle some. I found the best modifications for constraining the filament path were also the hardest to load filament. And when I placed s V notched Bowden tube up next to the gears I had great results with flexible but eventually the tube would twist out of place or even move into the gears allowing them to grab the tube. The EZR Struder absolutely WORKS. it’s dependable and doesn’t fail, it is easy to load, it mounts to existing hardware and uses your stepper. It works with all filaments hard and soft, no slipping. I believe that some times it’s just worth it to find the best solution for the money and use that and not have to worry about that part any more. The bond tech may be better but the EZR is less than s third of the price, and who will notice the difference if the both work.

I could not believe i will be able to print flex using my Enders-2. The moment i viewed this video, i purchased the same extruder, got it whitin a few days to Canada. It took a few minutes to install and amazingly i printed flexible.
