Thank you Mr. Plumb. My dad served 2 tours in Vietnam and was a POW. You're a hero and it's too bad that children now aren't taught what that word really means. Edit: A huge and heartfelt thank you to every single person who served. You're the backbone of this country.

As a vet of Vietnam and Iraq I thank all my fellow vets for their sacrifice and service.

Grandfather was a prisoner of war and considered MIA after serving in Navy; was rescued eventually but never breathed a word about it; he passed when i was 10 and now that im a military wife i appreciate him more than ever. Thank you to anyone who has served ❤

My Mom told me about your channel and I’m hooked. I’m the very proud Granddaughter of a WWII Army Veteran who just turned 100. He served in the South Pacific (mainly the Philippine Islands) and his commanding officer was General MacArthur. My Grandpa earned 2 Silver Stars, 3 Bronze Stars, the Philippine Liberation Badge and several other accolades. He’s a true hero and the best man I know. He’s also a strong man of faith and he would love this. I agree, every day should be Veteran’s Day. I’m in Orange County, California and have a friend who owns a rock n’ roll saloon with a big sign on top that says “Thank A Veteran for Your Freedom”. God bless you and all the men and women who serve and have served this country. 🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻

I'm sure glad Charlie was not a chemist. I had a co-worker that lost the battle after returning home. It's not just about surviving a skirmish, a battle, a war. It's also about surviving the mental conflict of what many had to do to "serve" their country. Hug a vet today.

My wife wore a POW bracelet back in the early 70's with Bob Shoemaker's name on it. She prayed for him every day back then. It was amazing for her to hear his name in this video. We're so thankful and praise GOD for these prisoners of war that made it home. Thanks to all the service men and women that still serve in difficult times to this day.

Nice job Kent. Just what we needed for veterans day. I haven't met too many veterans, but I respect them and I certainly thank them!

Thank you for your service, Mr. Plumb. I met and talked with another pilot that was shot down and was a POW for 5 years. He was Roger Ingvalson. He is now sadly deceased, but I will never forget him talking about communication with other prisoners in any means they could devise. He was also a great Christian and was the director of Chattanooga Prison Ministries when we met. I was a volunteer that took families to visit their incarcerated family members once each month as part of my church missions committee. I did this for five years and I had the opportunity to talk to Roger for several hours as we traveled to the several prisons. I have never forgot him or his stories of being in a Vietnam prison, much like your life story in Vietnam. He made an impact on me. Again, Thanks.

It was a horrific time in country, but it was also a terrrible time in this country when you came home. I hope every person still alive who spit on us, called us horrible names, and wished us dead has since seen the error of their thinking. I hope that someone who shakes my hand and thanks me for my service this Veterans Day, once wished me dead and has finally seen the light. God bless you and your family. Thanks to Mr. Plumb and Kent. My father was a WW2 Marine veteran on total disability and died young. I am an OEF veteran and my son is a Marine. I learned from my service some of what you POWs went through and I have my utmost respect for you and your fellow POWs. We can never repay you for what all of you went through.

He definitely blessed me with his story and his message 😢😊. I do wish the government would do right by these men and the nurses who served in those wars. We hear to many horror stories that they all went through. There should be more positive stories like Mr Plumb. I'm so glad you made it out alive and are living the life you deserve now.
