Hey Tim! Just FYI there is a secret Hot Dog available at Disney Springs at the Hot Diggity Dogs food truck (open daily from 6pm - close) on the West side now until Jan. 25th. It's called a "King Dog." To get the Peanut Butter and Bacon king dog you must say to them, "Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog!" Capture that on video if you can and Enjoy!
Probably one of my favorite videos, Jackson is going to grow up being such a well rounded person! The only off putting thing was the painting of the monitor, maybe it’s non toxic paint but it encourages those people out there thinking it’s okay to go ahead and paint any reptile or animal out there.
Plus, it was supposed to be so the animal didn't get bored, to enhance their experience.... but I don't see how the monitor knew what was going on. It didn't see their artwork...
For people that dont seem to understand, a savannah monitor is a very curious and active animal. By just getting him out and allowing him to experience something that is not sitting in his enclosure all day, while also getting to explore and sense things IS enrichment. They dont really play with toys, so just getting them out, handling them and letting them experience something that is not sitting in their cage is enrichment. The paints they used are also non-toxic finger paints. It seems pointless to paint with a lizard but the handling alone is actually very good for him as it keeps the giant lizard use to handling and allows some sort of interaction that is something besides sitting and waiting for food.
He wasn’t exploring though. He was being used as a glorified potato stamp. I own reptiles myself and there are loads of better ways than this to entertain them
So great seeing a younger Jackson, and his enjoyment seeing the skunk. You are great parents to let him experience science like this. As you said, Orlando is not just theme parks.
I used to work at my local Zoo and escorted people on private tours like this. I always learned something new about our animals so this was great to see.
TORI!!!!! As soon as I saw this video I clicked hoping you'd get Tori as your encounter guide and I'm so glad you did! We graduated from zoo school together haha
There’s actually quite a few zoos around the states that do this!! Most animals are very smart and do enjoy enrichment activities such as painting and games:)
This is such a awesome video to watch it was great to see the animal and different diets. It is always great to see Jackson smiling and laughing he loves animals and the different adventures you guys do.
He probably felt it wasn't something you should do to an animal. I kinda agree tbh. Seems a bit "touristy", rather than a benefit for the animal. I personally didn't like that. 😕
Big lovers of the channel and agree that Tim felt hesitant. I didn’t like this either but it’s more a judgement on the science center than anything else. Maybe could have kept this out the video. Besides this, seems a great tour! 😃
I literally feel so lost and sad when a few days go by without a video-that’s just me being selfish. Thank you for your dedication to delivering us awesome content! Love you guys!
I love Jackson reaction when he sees the animals it’s so cute plus I think it’s good that Jackson gets to do stuff now he is old and big enough to do stuff now 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Both myself and my wife love your videos, since lockdown in the UK its a great escape watching you three have your adventures. Love the videos, big fans. Keep up the amazing work.
Love the video but very confused. This is totally different to a Science centre here we have in the UK which is more science and experimental based. This seemed more like a Zoo we’d see here.
The Orlando science center has a few different sections! Some for more experimental science and one for hands on learning and this one for environmental science!
A lot of science museums here are split into two overarching themes, human and non-human, or maybe nature and technology. The nature side of things will usually explore biomes, weather, plant life, fish, reptiles, and mammals though the typical selection of the latter three is generally pretty narrow where a zoo will have MANY species. Science museums generally have very few animal exhibits compared to a zoo. The technology side of things would be more of your human-influenced science, so things like medicine and the human body, space, physics, computer tech. Oftentimes you'll find exhibits like the Pompeii one Tim mentions where it's a more historical exhibit, but they talk a lot about how science influenced the occurrence or what have you. Either way, it's definitely not a zoo but I can see how you might think that from this video alone. Live animals are not a LARGE part of most science centers, rather a part of a bigger exhibit about geography and climate, etc!
This was an awesome video. You all share some amazing adventures outside of just rides at Disney. Thank you so much, this video made me wish I lived in Florida to quickly get to these places. I love how the tour guide was so gentle with the animals and very knowledgeable. Thank you again for sharing GOD BLESS
@@rsmith8434 Verrrrry different! I don't necessarily agree with the lizard painting but it wasn't harming him and he's clearly well looked after, elephants were horrifically abused and tortured in circuses
Everything about this was so cool, it’s so fascinating to see the animals up close especially when they’re eating. the painting on the lizard was the only thing that was a little iffy. seems pricey for large families and even just for two people, but definitely a nice experience it seems!
Not sure that painting the monitor lizard gives it any enrichment. Seems very unnecessary. Felt sorry for it when she was pressing on his feet and tail to try and get a print.
I loved watching this video thank you guys! I do love all your videos but this has been especially helpful today as we are in national lock down here in the UK, this made me long for the days when I can visit this kind of place again but I was super pleased to be able to do it virtually through you guys while we are keeping safe at home!
I used to Volunteer at the Orlando science center & I used to Volunteer in Nature Works but unfortunately I don't live in Orlando anymore. 😒 but I did enjoy my Time while helping out at the science center 🙂❤
I love your videos and loved this amazing journey that you all had! The only thing, painting of the lizard...I have never understood the joy people get out of painting animals for fun. This is animal cruelty, I know you all did not intend it this way but I think its the way most people in the comments have felt. I'm sorry but I had to get that off my chest. ❤❤
This was soooo freaking cool! So glad you guys had a great time! A behind the scenes tour there would be my absolute dream day (but I'd probably want to end up adopting a reptile lol).....Also you guys should absolutely get a reef tank and make vlogs about it!!!!!
Paintings help the keeper engage with the animal, and help engage the animals sight, smell and touch. All part of enrichment. Great video. Would love to visit.
That was so Awesome, I'm such an Animal person. Oh my Gosh!! Jackson was so good with the Animals, he didn't cry or be scared. Jackson is such a good boy. Tim you wanted to know what can you do for your Birthday, I have no idea. You guys do so much, I can't think of anything! LOL :) Really Loved the Orlando Science Center.
The very educated guide literally explained why the paint is enrichment for the lizard. And she explained it in a way the general public gets the concept and gets to participate in a fun way. I'll never understand why people jump to trained professionals casually abusing animals🙄 go volunteer/learn something if you have doubts. Donate your money and maybe they'll add a different enrichment method
That video was awesome. The Science Center, very educational and fun.The guide that gave you the tour was amazing.Watching Jackson with the animals, so cute.Mommy and Daddy giving him guidance and love as always.♥️
Any plans to take Jackson to Cape Canaveral? It’d be a cool throwback to the OG Tim Tracker video’s! But I’d love to see him seeing the visitor complex, and even a rocket launch, even from a distance (due to the noise, as he’s still so young). And hopefully someday soon, he can see one up close fun fact, I can see all cape Canaveral launches from my backyard....209 miles away! And they look like massive fireballs! So I’m sure you guys can see them from your town, right? But nothing beats an up close one from either within a mile of the launch complex or right there at the viewing area they’ve got. Great thing about it is you can social distance, since you don’t have to be in a designated area to see it fairly close.
That looked really fun and informative. My husband and I have works of art from gorillas, goats, and orangutans from are zoo. I have a vase that people always comment on and admire and ask where I got it from and I say it is a one only Daisy the orangutan from Sedgwick County Zoo.
This was a lovely vlog, Jackson was so well behaved and gentle with the animals ! You are both such good parents and he will be able to watch these vlogs when he is older ! Stay safe guys x x
