12:15 Heyyy!! I think it was my tutorial you mentioned lol. You got the right concept, but the sound is actually one of the hardest I've learned at least. But if you train hard, I'm sure you can do it. Btw, i think in this video Dlow used his zipper along with some click roll variation, as he did on gbb wildcard 2018 and in the last round against zekka on kbb
I’m not sure if the zipper that D-low used in this video is a clickroll variation. The way I see it, and how it seems to work when I try to replicate it, it’s sorta more like a slowed down D-low zipper. I’m not too sure, but you start to get a crackle with the zipper depending on how tight/loose and either fast/slow you’re doing the zipper. I think the looser and slower you do the D-low zipper, the more chance you get of getting this weird crackle, that sounds sorta like the foundation for the one he used in this video. I could be wrong, maybe it is some weird clickroll but to me it sorta sounds like beginning of that variation he did here. Curious to find out, either way.
My understanding of "Making usage of the useless" has always been that he's talking about beatboxing in general. That he's taking what many people would think of useless and random sounds, and making them into music
These analysis vdos are really useful to us for understanding what battle actually is!! Back then I had a misconception that in battle who can do crazy hard patterns he wins .😅 I was wrong
19:05 Napom says make the usage of the useless because normally when people find a sound that seem to be useless to them, they just forget it and go with familiar sounds. but what you have to do is to take that ""trash"" and try to find new good things on it
When NapoM says "making usage of the useless" he's talking about making use of D-low I believe, calling him useless as a battle element and saying that by battling him he is making usage of D-low
I always thought it was a reference to beatbox being called a useless skill, correct me if I am wrong but I believe I heard it on a napom stream from himself years ago.
Yeah dlow lost quite a bit of rhythm there on the DnB, I think i heard it 3-4 times in that 1 segment. Definetly some rushing there but understandable with pressure and a good pallet of sounds
@@Madoxbeatbox yeah i can only imagine. maybe one day ill know that first hand! not often you see d-low or napom get nervous but i guess this was 2017 few years ago
This was one of my fav Beatbox battle when i first started beatboxing 😋...... And the way napom does that sound with combination with inward bass, bass BMG and nose sniff damnn ❤
He has the angle perfect so you can't see the arm on he mic or the stand itself. Genius if you ask me! The only way you can tell is using the shadow on his sholder as a reference. So with slightly altered lighting he can illuminate that and it would be a perfect illusion!
@@octavextra I don't think he's using a greenscreen at all in this video. Looks to me like clever camera angling but I guess only @Madox will know and will have to reveal his secrets 😅
I don't think I've seen this before, and it was cool. I'm at least sort of familiar with D-low and Napom and like both of them, so it was interesting to see this battle between them, especially since it's from a few years back (and most of what I've heard from them is more recent). I can't judge this, because it's far beyond my level. But D-low's MYB was particularly catchy, and it was kind of wild how many different routines (or parts of them) Napom put together in his rounds. Agreed about the Cinema part: I expect he wanted this more for the drop than the vocals. The only thing I might note is that with lip bass, while an octave separation between the lip oscillation and the voice does seem to be the most common way to use it, I believe some beatboxers use a fifth difference instead, to get a guitar power chord sound, which also works quite well. In any case, you're right that if the two pitches aren't matched correctly because one of them is slightly off, the whole sound will be a bit off. Thanks for the analysis!
Yeah you are right with the power chord! Gene Shinozaki is a master in this. Mr. Androide also did an amazing job with it in his recent GBB wildcard. If you are interested in these technics you should check them out!
Making usage of the useless is also an enimen cober just like his third routine. If were talking in general making usage of the useless could be using something that everyone thinks on first look is useless or is in general bad. Still the battle was awesome and your analysis is very helpful
Really enjoy to watching ur channel youtube Editing , colour visual , studio visual and your funny comment is make Excited to waiting ur next/other video every day after back from the office...
When it cuts to you vibing the feeling felt off, maybe the camera was zoomed out or because it wasn’t shaking. I love your content and *everything* nonetheless!
Is it clear for anyone else that madox changed his way to talk during the videos after that thing with Dlow at Sxin's channel? Now he's always emphasising that what he's saying is his opinion and telling us to have a mature discussion HAHAH
