Big, physical, technical, disciplined, confident AND left footed center back. A dream come true for any coach. I know how important it is to have a left footed center back if you want to have any kind of build-up play nowadays, so it's clear how valuable you would be on any team. Keep it up mate, enjoying your vids!
I’m going to say this and I hope I’m not speaking out of turn given that you have professionals helping you. Plyometrics are more about your landing than the explosion. Once you land and do so properly you can then begin to engage the stretch shortening cycle and train your RFD. If you can’t absorb the force than you cannot then produce it in the SSC and RFD. In short I loved how you showed how to land first. The squats hold are great for recruiting muscle fibers you don’t ordinarily engage. Also in regards to your knees a great exercise is to sit on something that you can let your legs hang off of. For you that’s likely hard as you are a big lad. If you can just then let your legs swing slightly in much the same way you may see a young child do when they sit in a chair with their feet not touching the ground. The weight of you legs helps to alleviate pressure on your knees and thus allows lubrication to take place without compression. I’ve broken my knee which ended any chance I had at a career in my chosen sport. This exercise has helped me greatly. Only do it for 5 minutes and see how your knees feel. Agains hope I’m not speaking out of turn. Wishing you the best this season.
As a fellow celiac, it’s good to hear you mention that Lily is catered for food wise. A lot of places abroad are so far ahead of the UK when it comes to gluten free options. Look forward to cheering you on again this season 😁
Hey Ryan just found your channel and already loving the great info you share with us young athletes! As an Iranian American myself I was curious to know why you haven’t played for the Iranian national team? Obviously I understand there are a lot of factors and reasons why you wouldn’t want to, but I just wanted to know if you could let me know any reasons or info you could share on the subject. Thank you!
Great vid! Your diet is so clean! In your next vid can you just film your self doing a naughty little maccy d’s drive thru for a grand Big Mac to make us all feel a little bit better about ourselves 🙌
Hi Ryan I really like your channel mate I am also a defender I have Learned a lot from watching your videos and it has given me tips on how to improve different aspects of my game. ⚽️💪
Would you ever consider joining Wrexham? Under the new incredible owners and the big fan base 😍 and also you’d get to play with the man the myth Ollie Palmer 😂You are way to good for this level but it would probably break the non league internet if you did - Keep up the quality work 🙌🏼
When you're done playing will you need another career or have you earned enough playing at the level you have? Hope this isn't too personal, just curious!
one of the best training vids available. love the detail and how it seems like you did not skip out on showing us something. have the late night stretching part on repeat every night. surprised you dont use a massage gun or a leg recovery system like normatecs... what are your thoughts on both of those products supplementing your foam roller.. ??
You using the same inner soles in your trainers as your boots? Always struggled with new boots and new inner soles but that looks like a great way to wear them in
Thank you for the great videos. Very inspirational and humble for a professional footballer, which isn't always the case. Do you take any supplements that help ligaments and tendons? And how do you manage to stay motivated when you gym/train alone?
Great videl Ryan! I have a question about bulking as a footballer. Any tips what to do cus I'm in a off seson at the moment and want to gain some weight but without too much fat? Thanks!
Thanks mate. Yeah to bulk you want to be in a calorie surplus - eating more than you’re burning. Higher reps in the gym - hypertrophy. Combine these 2 and you’ll put on size
To stay lean you need to have not big caloric surplus (300-400 extra calories each day) and do heavy lifting with regular plyometric work (including sprinting, also hill sprints are good). Proper recovery, good night sleep and that's all you need. But to stay really lean without gaining fat at all you can train on caloric maintenance. Results will not be really fast but it's definitely possible to get bigger muscles using this approach.
Any recommendations on which level/step to go looking for a trial, I on paper haven't had a club for 3 years as I've been bouncing around a few countries due to family now in the uk. Had a few trials passed one at a fourth tier side in Germany however had to leave, again due to family. Any advice would be welcome.
Great video as always bro! Just wondering as a pro athlete, how many calories do you usually consume on a daily basis? Does it change a lot when you have training days or match days? Or are they around the same amount? 👊🏾👊🏾
