Great overview of prokb.! (we are now new yt followers of yours ! ) . We have used prokb for several years (prior to the coating was well) for flow based kb movements. one item i would add to your video is that prokb offers 1kg and 2 kg magnets you can insert/remove quickly into the open bottom. so not only can you "micro load" the bells but you can change the weight during a workout up/down as needed.
As anticipated, Brittany, you have done an excellent job in giving this review. This is one of the most thorough, informative, and articulate reviews I've ever heard, Your knowledge and experience in the kettlebell world was clearly evidedent as was your integrity and honesty. You have always been an incredible teacher and coach. Great job!
@@kbfitbritt I purchased high quality competition bells and cast iron bells but purchased only second hand. I have advanced to train with 16kg -24 to warm up then go to 32-64kg for my workouts. I now train sports athletes kettlebells for explosive power for their specific sports.
That was a lot of good information. I like that you had pros and cons. I’m not well versed in the different kinds. I wish you had the extra plate that can go up inside. That’s something I had never seen before. The curve for the arm is different too.
Thanks Brit for this review. I have been looking to upgrade my kettlebell collection from the cast iron ones I have do to the handle size of the heavier KB and smaller window. Also, the feature you mention about the indent which will help with overhead positions is a plus for me too. Thanks so much
Your review is surpassed only by the awesomeness of your shirt. Please Do a follow up on the chip weights they make; they turn every pro kettlebell into up to 5 kettlebells, and are particularly awesome for those who do longer training sessions or events like 1/2 marathon. Also, while the arm rests aren’t a huge difference to a world class KB veteran like you, they are awesome when introducing new folks to the bell, as they encourage proper form and are more comfortable.
Very detailed review Brittany, thank you. We recently purchased some competition style kettlebells for our Kettlebell Solo workouts. While we considered the Pro Kettlebell products, in the end I couldn’t quite justify the higher price for our usage scenario. One additional feature of the Pro Kettlebells is the optional magnetic weight chips which could help bridge the gap of the 4kg bell increments.
@@kbfitbritt We ended getting competition bells from both Vulcan (8 &12) and Bells of Steel (4, 6, 14, 16). However If we were doing more clean and snatch type movements I could definitely see the advantage of the sculpted Pro Kettlebells.
I like the contour for the wrist on this. It's very hard to decide which kettlebell to buy. It's one of those 'buy it nice or buy it twice' things because it's a lifelong item. This video really helps me consider what's the best option out there.
@@NovaPrincess it can be a tough decision to know what kettlebell to buy - there are so many out there these days. I’m glad the video helped! Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
@@kbfitbritt Thank you! I ended up buying two pro kettlebell atlas 4kg to get me started. It seems like I can't go wrong with it. I would like to do some yoga poses with these too (warrior 1, 2, and 3 plus twist variations and more) along with more traditional KB exercises. Your video really helped me! I can't wait to get them in the mail. I'll be checking out your workouts for KBs to learn everything I can on KB form and what not.
@@NovaPrincess you’re welcome. I love the Atlas kettlebells, so good choice 👍🏼 Enjoy the kettlebells and I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts if you check out any of my Kettlebell Solo workouts (perfect for 4kg kettlebells): www.youtube.com/@kettlebellsolo
Hi there, it would be unprofessional for me to recommend an exercise without knowing more about your injury, and I'm also not qualified to diagnose or address injuries specifically - I would recommend a physical therapist.
Thanks for posting Britt. I have only just got into competition! Kettlebells. I prefer them as I feel cast iron kettlebells are just chunks of metal and not as versatile as competition kettlebells. Also the competition bells are all the same size. I like the look of the open kettlebells and if ever available in the UK would like to try them. Thanks again Britt
@@ProKettlebellWorkouts Really?. I bought 12kg Apollo about month ago and used transport company from USA to Georgia. Payed overall 316$ to arrive in my country. I payed 9$ for each KG. So you mean that u can send it with your expenses?
Amazing review, just what I was looking for, thank you so much! Can you tell me, when I look at the pics of the Pro kettlebell on the website, it looks like the bottom part has a clear shiny coating on it but it doesn't show on the ones you show us in your video. I am wondering if there is a coating or not and wondering if you feel the kettlebell will also gradually rust/loose the paint or coating of there is one the same way as the purple kettlebell you show us?
You’re welcome Linda! Thanks for watching. The Pro Kettlebells I have don’t have any paint or covering at all, so they are prone to rust (I keep them inside so they stay dry). All of the Pro Kettlebells now come with a coating over all of it, so yes, your bell will have a coating on it. The purple kettlebell I show in this video has been used at a gym by lots of people and by me for Kettlebell Sport double lifts, where it was knocked against the other kettlebell on every rep, which is why the paint is so chipped. This is unlikely to happen to your Pro Kettlebell - especially if you are just using it for general fitness. What do you plan to use the Pro Kettlebells for?
Thank you so much, I just want to use one to get fitter as I am sitting way too much every day, starting with a small 4kg first to build confidence. Actually waiting for my first Pro Kettlebell to arrive@@kbfitbritt
@@lindacamurato awesome!! Be sure to check out the follow along classes I teach for Kettlebell Solo - they are perfect to do with a 4kg kettlebell: www.youtube.com/@kettlebellsolo
@@kbfitbritt I learned to snatch an old way, almost 20 years, where the thing sticking out is going to smack me HARD in the forearm. i learned to punch through the bell which my hand in middle of the handle. =/
Hi, I used google to translate your comment so my apologies if I misunderstood anything… thank you for taking the time to watch and I’m glad you liked the video. Thanks for your feedback on including the magnetic weight inserts, I appreciate it!
@@RezoUI I don't think it makes too much of a difference, either Apollo or Atlas will work great. I personally really like the Atlas because I do around the leg and around the body drills and I prefer a smaller bell for that.
If you’re doing a lot of cleans & snatches and don’t have your technique dialed in, it could be a problem. That being said, any kettlebell hitting your arm will be a problem - the technique needs to be corrected to avoid damage.
