Would love to see a video on your opinion on the ball difference from MLB to NPB, since a lot of people don’t really know that the Japanese ball is slightly smaller and has a little better grip than the ball in the MLB.

One small tip: Move your bottom hand up the bat a few inches. Holding it at the handle gives slightly less control and allows the barrel to dip more. Plate coverage shouldn't be a problem as long as you stand close enough to the plate... easier said than doing when facing 90+.

Soft hands! I remember taking infield with a piece of plywood velcroed to my hand. We used to do it all the time at practice. Teaching soft hands to the people who didn't have them. The first time I took a grounder at 90+mph was interesting lol. Eventually, we all were playing "normal" ball with paddles strapped to our hands. Pulling double plays and all.

Best advice my travel ball coach ever told me, is “catch” the ball. Don’t exaggerate the hands at all just angle the bat and catch it. In Junior Olympics I batted 2nd the whole tournemant. Every time our leadoff hitter would get on he’d steal and I’d put down a perfect bunt for a hit to get us 1st to 3rd every time. I ended batting 575. With 8 bunt for hits that tournemant 😂 it was wild I had that role but it was only cause no one could bunt to save their lives. And I could and I was fast so. It worked out well haha

Rest the barrel between the pad of your thumb and finger tips of your right hand and think about catching the ball with your right hand.

The bat should only move on one plane, so up or down. You shouldn’t push it out or pull it in, just let the bat essentially catch the ball.

Couple quick things to fix your bunt game: 1) don’t 2) hit dingers instead 3) come back hitting better than Shohei

Practice, practice, practice. You Don't want to embarrass yourself out on the field during a game. A minimum of 100 bunts a day until your season starts. Once the season starts, set the pitching machine to the guy you will be facing and do 100 bunts pregame. That kind of work ethic will impress your Japanese teammates. Good luck in Japan.

I wouldn't wrap those fingers around the bat if I was you. Thumb to index finger right behind the barrel, this will also help with accuracy as you will now be "catching" the ball. You already usually keep the bat flat which is good, when holding the bat on an angle you're much more likely to take the ball in the face.
