I WISH Gief was as good as people are saying! I love grapplers

I am a Gief main, but I am not a downplayer. I think he can easily qualify for Top 5, but I agree with most of the other pros. I think Ryu is most slept on rn.

Yah, it’s totally not like Kobayan’s going around absolutely wrecking top pro players like gachikun, tokido and shuto with gief right now without losing a single game on Topanga championship

The gief overhype is valid thou, character is really strong this season. Lili is a wildcard imo not amazing but not bad.

Downplay = blatant lying

Many of these players don't even use Ken. Ken is not Top 5 lol.

Akuma, Zangeif and Guile are pretty obvious top 3. the other character are less easy to say because they don't stand out as much. Is rachid really better than luke? Maybe. in some match-up he might be, but others they might be the same or equal. You could same for Dee jay, Chun li, Aki, Ryu, Blanka, Juri. They're all really good but they're not over-dominate. The better player wins overall.

Bigbird is just blatantly downplaying breh, he's complaining about the Marisa "nerfs" even though the character is still great, the downplay on putting Rashid and Gief together is insane too bruh. Rashid legit has so much strong OKI in the corner and mixups that are safe, great damage, and great AA damage. He does suck with his AA's but they have high reward, and level 2 is just insane too bruh.

Hp over tool kit.. akuma is not top 5. He doesnt win any major events n never has really. One mistake n ur done. Hp beats tool kit any day. Long as ur not a sean etc. If u have a reasonable toolkit. Hp is always better. No one wants to die in tournament for one mistake

@@ShinUltima its not a universal rule obviously. Id not take sean over yun in 3rd strike because sean has more hp.. Read into my words how u would like or use some fucking common sense. Its obviously not 100 % every time no matter the example.

@@DevaPein It's not merely "not a universal rule". It's flat out wrong. Toolset will win out against HP in all but the most extreme of circumstances. Abigail had the highest HP in SFV. Aside from that brief period where he was crazy overbuffed, he spent the majority of his SF tenure at the bottom of the tiers. Zangief (second highest HP) was also bad throughout SFV, last I checked. Akuma, the lowest health character, spent the majority of the time at the top. Hugo had the highest health in USFIV, was one of the worst characters. Best characters were average/below-average health characters. Gief was decent in the last version because he got really good benefits from Red Focus, i.e. he got a really useful tool that he didn't have before (to make up for what they took away from him after SFIV, but I digress). In MvC2, characters like Zangief, Hulk, Colossus, Juggernaut etc. are among the highest health characters and are mid tier at best (Gief is low tier) The top tiers, aside from Sentinel, are all average to below average health characters (Sentinel has the most HP, but also has a crazy feature set). UMvC3: Ditto high health characters like Thor, Tronne, Nemesis, etc. All rubbish, relatively. Low health characters like Akuma and Strider were better than them all. Hulk/Haggar are good at least, but it's their tools that make them competitive more than their HP. Sentinel was still good even after they nerfed his health considerably. I could go on, but this is long enough.

Gief is either bottom 5, or he's mid tier and people complain he's top 5.

I think Gief is top 10 now. No longer bottom tier, but not top 5. Still has a lot of the same weaknesses and can still be RNGed out.

Manon did receive pretty good buffs, just not enough to take her out of bottom tier. But I am surprised he mentioned Lily having buffs. Her buffs were not as good as the buffs Manon received. Lily relies on lights more than most characters, so the lights nerfed affected her more

Nah Ryu ain’t top 5. You can’t find a relevant shoto or Luke pro that’s using Ryu. His matchup percentages online at near Legend rank are still bottom 3. Akuma killed Ryu for tournaments

Cammy does not compare to the ones listed. Rashid, Guile, Chun, Juri, Akuma, Luke, Deejay, are all way more complete and oppressive than her. Even Ryu arguably.
