the hazmat suit you make once, however you need a different type of filter like the gas mask. This filter runs out over time, so you have to keep making new ones (One of the materials to make these new filters is the old filters)

Hazmat suits has its own filters that you have to use like gas filters. At this point you can use only one wearable thing at once. So you using gas maks, or hazmat suit, or jetpack, or runner thingy.

Also something, not everyone catches on to. The explorer car can drive up nearly vertical walls, like a mountain goat. I often just had to build an angle block to tilt the vehicle and then up and away you go

The thing that isn't obvious is the insane amount of time he must put in behind the scenes to create these videos, for example creating AI limiters and stators in that quantity isn't a 5 minute job....the video that followed on from this has some impressive pipework....lol

18:37 Radiation itself does not make other things radioactive. The radiation is able to interact with the atoms of something which is the reason it is so dangerous, as it destroys living cells and can dammage materials, but it doesnt make something radioactive that isnt already radioactive. The reason for the dome around Chernobil isnt that it would make things radioactive, but because the fallout the explosion made is highly radioactive and if this fallout lands somewhere, it emits radiation into the area, but if you were to remove the fallout again, the area will be fine again. In theory you would be able to drink water which was hit by radiation, as long as no radioactive substence is contained in the water itself. :)

General proximity to radioactive material does not make you radioactive. Its the dust of the radioactive material getting on you or being injested that makes you appear radioactive. that's why hazmat suits are important, so the radioactive dust gets on it and not you.

This is an old video. He recorded that before update 3, a telling sign of that is the lack of pipes required for the nuclear plant. Update 3 came out in February 2020 IIRC.

You should definitely try the game. You will love it. You can just get into the flow and lose track of time. Also I love Josh’s play through of this game. Also don’t try to make sense of his unique play style. It’s unorthodox and funny as heck. Also when he displays the hours later screen that’s how long it actually took.

Yes, game designers have an Arachnophobia mode and a Misophonia mode.. nobody ever talks about the Misophonia mode, which replaces the disturbing sounds of chewing with a .simple beep.

The game becomes significantly less pretty and much more terrifying when you build a ladder to the kill plane on top of the world. Everything slowly fades away and eventually you can't even see the ladders you're building so it's just you and the red glow of not being able to place a ladder that disappears as you make place each new ladder. The kill plane is around 700 m up if you're wondering. Also generally to become radioactive you need to ingest radioactive materials, it would take a load of radiation to make you radioactive on its own.

So, I'm not digging through the comments to figure out of anyone mentioned this... But bounce pad velocity is based on your frame rate. Keep in mind Josh's frame rate is constantly changing as he looks about the chaos of his base that is the coccoon and the weave. This means bounce pads are unreliable unless he is looking exactly the same way every time. Now add on the time it takes because there is no creative mode....

Everything is everywhere, all at once. That’s the only map you need for Josh’s base.

If the inventory space the waste has in the reactor is full, the reactor simply stops working

zone?! lol Josh has no zone. Also at this point the reactors and any power generation is continuous; it is not dependent upon the use of energy in the world.

Okay if the waste builds up in the plant, it will stop once a full stack is reached. mid and late game you need to deal with Byproducts. Like Refineries a lot of times output both a solid and a liquid. Like if you need Plastic, you are also going make Heavy Oil Residue, You have to deal with both or the refinery will stop producing anything when one side gets full. As for what to do with the Uranium waste... Best to let Josh show you his way, in the next video. They added a way to deal with Uranium Waste After that video, by converting it to Plutonium fuel rods.... Now you have a choice.... Plutonium waste is made by Nuke Plants using them and you can't get rid of it (In a legit manner, anyway), so what most people do is Sink the Plutonium Rods for Coupons or use them in Vehicles with no waste produced.

To waste an obscene amount of power in satisfactory is to fully over-clock everything. Over-clocking causes the machines to work faster but uses more power than just building an extra machine. For example a constructor uses 4 MW at 100% clock speed if you over-clock it to 200% will use 10 MW. Later machines use more power like the blender which at 100% clock speed only uses 75 MW of power but fully over-clocking it to 250% makes one blender use 250 MW, which if more than the power usage of 3 blenders. Over-clocking has a time and place in the game you just have to choose where to do that, miners and powerplants are some of the better choices, miners because there's only so many resource nodes in the game and powerplants to produce more power in exchange for feeding it fuel and water faster. The miners are a catch 22 though, a mark 3 miner on a pure resource node fully over-clocked to 250% will produce more resources than the faster belt in the game can carry the mark 5 conveyor belt can only carry 780 items per minute but the mark 3 miner on a pure node fully over-clocked produces 1,200 items per minute.

Not entirely sure why the nuclear plants have brownish-grey smoke coming out of them, it's just steam afterall.

Things don't actually get radioactive from being near a radioactive source, not unless that source is quite literally a reactor. The energy required to affect the atoms of a nearby object is staggering, the main source of contamination is just that, contamination. Basically just small bits of radioactive materials getting onto things and therefore being a constant source. It's a lot like if the object itself became radioactive, but you can just wash it off. Plus it means that the only way for things to be contaminated with radiation is for things like dusts to be spread around. If it were the way you implied they wouldn't be able to dump the water from reactors back into the rivers and oceans, which they do, nor just let the vapor leave the cooling towner.

7:06 No, that nucler stuff he has in the video is about 2 updates old. This like update 5-6 content, the game at the moment is on update 8, so there has been atleast 2 updates since this video. The game itself doesnt really tell you to do it, but most people end up building their whole nucler power facility totally separate so only time they need to wear the suit is when something has gone wrong and they need to go there to fix things. 14:23 Yeah nah, the logic is stuff is placed, as for zones? Yeah, that is gonna be negative on Josh, the zones are too hard to figure out, if there is any. 15:24 Hours? Ok, first, those foundations under the pads, he had to manually build them from the ground to the spot. Second, the pads used to have no tracjetory arrows, so he literally had to go trough them one by one, like ran into the first one, let it bounce him, see where it lands him, place another pad there, ran into the first one, get bounced into the second one and check where it lands him, each pad one by one until it was done. 18:02 Yeah, the waste has stack size of 100, so if the belts get full and it starts to pile up in the machine, once it reaches 100, it will stop the plant and it wont work until it has space to store waste again. And as for punishment, well saw what happens when you let it pile up

the arachnophobia mod is actually good. not like the inbuilt arachnophobia mode with the stillpictures of cats that still make spider sounds rushing with lightspeed in your direction....thats not really any better

The 8bit cat heads started internally, As one of the developers, has very bad arachnophobia. Second thought. Look up mega build world tours. Some of the things people with the complete opposite of LetsGameItOut mentality have built are absolutely incredible.

To the nuclear stuff, you can build it wherever in the world you want as long as you have at least one single power cable connected to it from your main stuff

Newest update, number 8, came out recently, but this is off update 5 I believe. While probably working on another episode, he has about three more recent videos from this one, one about hypertubes, one about drones, and another fixing nuclear power from update (6?) changes that added water to the nuclear power plants. Hiding behind waterfall question... Yes some things behind other waterfalls but not that one I believe. Filters are consumable not the suits and they will protect against all radiation. It teaches you by stating the company is not responsible for damage to company property( your character, so stop of die in debt). Belts move if the product is moving or not, if they were to implement actual physics for this then there would be a HUGE power spike( based on belt length and product weight) going from stopped to started causing extreme hardships to any powergrid. You can trash all products except nuclear waste and the plants will stop if the belt is backed up so you have to long belt it( like he did), store it away, convert it, or what he did in later a video( spoilers).

If i were to tell you if things are hidden behind waterfalls, they wouldn't be hidden anymore if you play the game someday 👀

There was literally no waste recycling in that update of the game that they were playing. So really any solution to waste was something. Now that we have particle accelerators we can recycle the waste. I think that was update 7 but not sure.
