Oh wow, I figured that would be the only thing to write down. I didn't know you were allowed to such things in MTG. I guess they want to take out memory as a skill in the game.
Well, you can remember things, but it's much easier to play around stuff if you can glance at your paper, also, in sanctioned tournaments, you need to be able to keep track of life totals, keep in mind this is a professional tournament, if there's a discrepancy, judges will become involved, and if you keep track of things, it's easier to resolve., This is not the kitchen table. =]
I'm not qualified to comment about other TCG's, as I don't play any, but, if you're trying to plan 4/5 turns ahead, keep track of information that your opponent has shown you, and keep accurate track of your life totals (Which is pretty much mandatory at that level), writing it down becomes a necessity. I don't feel it removes any of the skill/intelligence from the game, which is what I think you're implying. (I could be wrong, though). What I meand by the kitchen table: This is not a game of friendly Magic with your friends at the kitchen table, this is high level stuff for a LOT of money. :P
Euan Donald You fail at trolling, especially towards a man who can make better puns than you any day and century. On top of that, Rich is a transcendental pianist!
