Second gen, yes. Second class, never. I love all Tundras regardless of generation! And the 2020 platinum is a sweet choice

@bonou21941, have a ‘21 Platinum, that, like you, wouldn’t part w/ for anything, but I still find Mark’s coverage on the new stuff intriguing.

I would highly recommend trading your old Tundra for a new Platinum (hybrid) …. the luxury of the new truck is amazing

Keep the 2nd gen truck for as long as you can!! The new trucks are expensive and have a complicated V6 engine that is having way too many failures.

TRD Sport is SR5 only, and it adds body color exterior, unique 20 inch wheels, bilstein shocks with a 1” drop in the front, trd grille, red trd engine start button, trd shifter, sport pedals.

All are composite, but some dealers add the spray on over it. I feel like a bed mat is an absolute must for composite. Spray on adds to the price but has more grip

You can have both spray-in & get a bed mat - best in my humble opinion.

I had it in my 22 platinum and it tore pretty easy. I say save that $650 and get a $100 bed mat

For Tundra, the locking gas lid is on all the iforce max ones

Lease with a decent down payment and it’s affordable…. the big 14 inch touch screen is awesome if you have the 360° camera

Then don’t go shop the Big 3, its even more singled out options.

I basically decided on the trim, limited and that narrowed it down and then got with my toyota salesman and he went over the options and packages for the limited and really cleared things up for me and I listen to tundra dude 😅

TRD Sport is discontinued, TRD Off Road is still here for 2025. I dont see the off road package ever going away.

I have the Weathertech ImpactLiner. It is nice and thick with high sides and made for the impact of throwing stuff in the bed. Fits great, nonslip and I would buy it again.

@@Davidami48 Toyota made a great mat that I recently tried to order for my ‘21 Platinum, but it appears they’re no longer making it, even for the new models. I found the weather-tech matt to be thinner and more slippery in the bed and returned that. I did find one almost identical to the OEM Toyota mat made right here in the USA by a company named Lochridge that I’ve been very pleased with.
