Excellent blog, so much to learn about beavers, maybe a follow up on the pelt after its cured? Keep on producing, my favorite outdoors channel, doesn’t get much better up close and personal
My inner pre-teen self was chuckling at all the beaver comments and then you brought out those books and I lost it. I have been aware of those books for a while, but they are still funny.
@@nathanellis2246 It's a really good idea. I think adding AP in there sounds fun too. All it does is draw in more viewers, and it entertains the heck out of us couch outdoorsmen
I can’t believe the intelligence level of those beavers!! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for one to set off the trap!! Lmiao wow buddy this was amazing footage!! I thought you were going to be skunked watching them swim around and under lol 😂
The way they were sniffing at it, I think they could smell beardsman on it and got a little suspicious. Except for that one beaver... You helped take out the dullest beaver and improve their gene pool.
Actually the one that got trapped was not the same one that had been swimming under and around the trap. The one that got trapped was a different Beaver that had been having issues for some time and decided to end it by "Suicide by Trap"! Patient confidentiality prohibits me from commenting further. May he "Rest in Pieces" (and dipping sauce)
Back in the early 70's, I attended a USAF SERE school (POW Survival and Evasion), and after slogging through the mountains north of Spokane, Washington for a week, eating grubs, worms, and cockroaches (I have a nice recipe for cockroach tea if anyone's interested), one of the students caught a beaver and we cooked (boiled, actually) that thing in an old trash can we found. And let me tell, you, no beaver EVER tasted so sweet. I guess it's true, you never forget your first one.
I was thinking raccoon also. Predators tend to have reflective lenses in their eyes but it being so close to the water it wasn't any normal predator so it was a raccoon.
"Thriving" really is one of your favorite words. Nice video, as expected! I love the footage from the night with all those different animals. This is great and really relaxing.
🤣 I can’t wait for you to get the rest of those beavers for the whole gang to pound the Beaver. I was crying laughing in this video, especially during story time.
My God, the innuendo in this video is spectacular! I lost it when you two finally caught a couple of mouthful of beaver and it took forever because you couldn't shut up about it. All time classic. I wish I had been part of this video. That being said, you mentioned that the landlord had requested that you deal with the remaining Beaver population on the property. I'm disabled and unemployed and have literally nothing on my schedule, and have long been known as the beaver Slayer. If you need some help cleaning up all that beaver, I'm your man.
Use a plumbing tool. It’s called a snake. Put your camera on it for inside the hole. Kevin will know what I am talking about and could probably help you set it up.
Chris I am absolutely sure that was not the first time someone has shoved a stick in a beaver hole. It usually requires dinner and a movie before attempting
You do amazing videos! Have watched at least 20 of your videos. Your camera work is excellent. I've been waiting for you to have your own TV show or cable series. You have what it takes and your content is really interesting. Go for it! I love the outdoors and fishing and some hunting.
The next Beaver you get (4 legged variety) try another favorite of mine. "Beaver McNuggets"! Cut the meat into bite size nuggets (Unless you prefer the Beaver Strips instead), Place in Beer Batter or your favorite coating and then Deep Fry in FRESH light vegetable oil. Follow the temperature and timing recommendations for your particular cooker. I prefer my Lodge 8 Qt Dutch oven with fresh light corn oil @ 350 degrees for about 3-5 minutes, internal temp 165 degrees. You may have to adjust your time or temp a bit, try doing a few at a time until you're happy with the results. Just an idea-kind of "Food for thought", so to speak. Don't forget your favorite dipping sauce!!! I like BBQ!
Beavers are the Engineers of our woodland waterways. They are supposed to do that. In the UK we have reintroduced beavers where they became extinct in that area due to hunting. Beavers make a huge positive impact.
Nothing quite like a nice wet beaver for dinner! Looked kinda like that was a raccoon den that you looked into with the pole. Also that grill looks extremely handy. God bless
!fullstop. That burger really looks delicious! But i am curious how far that tunnel goes and what lies at the end of that never ending tunnel! maybe another vid investigating that tunnel even further?!
Loving the content dude! I’m not a hunter and being from England we don’t really have that opportunity so these videos are great fun to watch for myself
Actually if you look it up England has had problems initially because some bozo decided it was a good idea to bring a north american beaver over to England. It apparently has taken over the England version of beaver and in the places where they let the north american beaver do its thing, the wildlife management has noticed life in places where no life previously existed.. beavers are the natural dam and wildlife management..
@@Gary87 it means you have an opportunity to go out in England's country side and hunt a beaver and try one., If not watch season 2 of the wooded beardsman if you haven't already
@@TheWoodedBeardsman you put a foot hold or a drounder set. Watch trapper johns outdoors i have learned a ton for him andbi gonna trap when i turn 13 with my dad.
Trapper J from Iowa/Nebraska does a LOT of beaver trapping with drowners and castor mounds. Also look at 330 Maniac. I think it was a raccoon in that hole. Castor mound is just a conical pile of slick mud about a foot high used as teriitory markers. Place a foothold trap in a step down. If you're allowed to use a drowner rod then do so. It's just a foot hold on a one way slider that allows the trap to slide down but not back up, drowning the beaver. By catch can include musk rat, raccoon etc.
I must be the oldest Grammy watching your channel! (your brothers too) I have a weird sense of humor but it's not easy to enjoy the warped beaver books and puns. I listen with tongue in cheek. *lol* I must send link to my son n' law (he wears a kilt just because he can) actually my daughter would crack up too! BTW I loved your son's reaction to the critter in the tunnel. With light entering the tunnel midway, I would follow it above ground looking for exit and other entry points. Oh, did you use your A'dobo seasoning on the beaver burgers? We have moose, elk, deer and every kind of fish (fresh and salt) in our freezers so I know how to.... cook meat!
@@TheWoodedBeardsman Oh my kilter son n' law and daughter are out in our heated spa. I told them about your beaver burgers and jokes when they both mentioned the Beaver Books. It figures, they already heard them. Hugs.
You should put a stick across the top of the trap to disguise the outline a little more. And use a chin up stick under the trap to keep them from just swimming under like that so they have to hit the trigger. Might help you.
Dude! By far THE funniest video you've made!! Love em all but please do more BEAVER videos!! And Kevin, what are you the real life 40 yr old virgin??!! Never ate beaver before??!!🤣😂. Keep up the killer content!!🤟🤙🍀🍀
All the beaver comments 😂 Here in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia the wild leaks that you have we call the “ramps” they are a spring time delicacy. They are great in whatever you want to eat them with!
Those were sum freaky eyes just staring, ahhhh.. I wanna see how far that tunnel goes.. darn it's not there today.. but caught one, bacon burgers comin up ;))
How did I guess you'd catch and eat the Beaver? I have a family member just like you. Catch, clean and eat 😋. Are your friends afraid of going camping with you? Just incase they wake up with missing limbs? 😆 🤣.
