Will definitely knows how to squeeze every penny out of poor Calvin's pocket, I'm a mechanic myself and some of the stuff he comes out with is hilarious, honestly on the tuning side I can't really comment as it's not what I do for a living but yeh 😁
Wow I thought this was a bag of nails on the first vid but now showing how unloved and neglected this motor has been with the list of works growing by the minute. This is turning into an episode of car SOS. Your enthusiasm and Will's knowledge will put Humpty back together again 👍
This is definitely one of my favourites so far, can’t wait to see more calvin 👍🏻 Great to see you and little man spending some quality time together too!
My money is on a coil pack for the missing. I had it on mine (still got the s3, sprint blue as well) and 1 failed again within 7k miles after I replaced the set. Fit R8 ones
Mate I love this series! Pls upload more I have a 8p 2l TFSi I’m trying to make it to an S3 (close as possible) Was thinking to bring into VRS.. this is amazing content
This was a great video, very interesting to listen to will's knowledge. Sadly the S3 looks like another example where previous owners have try to run it on a shoe string budget. Looking forward to seeing it sorted.
This is my favourite colab. Such good viewing. Only problem with this car is calvin will either wanna keep it or will make him wish he had another audi and go back to the darkside.
Glad you’ve bought this Calvin. I’ve got a 2012 S3, 65,000 miles, DSG. Bought it a year ago. Rapid, but I’m sure I have a problem with the diff. It whines above 40mph when I let off the accelerator. There is also a squeak or a cheep cheep bird noise when I edge through traffic, when the car has momentum and I swap to the brake. Also not particularly smooth at high speed. Have balanced all wheels more than once. Wish it was spot on, I want to map it.
@@electrician1602 It can account for the mild vibration yes, if one of the bearing races have popped out or the bearing is loose you'll get play in the drive shaft (up and down). It's not massively in depth if you have a car lift and all the tools, but it's still 3-4 hours work for an experienced mechanic (wheel off, brakes off, diff cover off, drive shafts out). Could even be a wheel bearing, which would require same/similar procedure depending on vehicle model/make. Price wise, if you have a good local mechanic/garage, shouldn't cost more than £500-600 including labour, unless you wanted/needed new drive shafts (they're best replaced in pairs). S3 Diff is probably in the region of £600-700 used on ebay (i've not looked). Best case scenario it's a wheel bearing and you've just got a bit of wheel wobble from the bearing leaking or not performing correctly.
Mate. Watching you w your wee man makes me want to be a dad! Especially after that vid on the Passat. Kai is gunna turn into a great person and has a bright future ahead of him!✌️
VAG stuff of this era are renowned for rear callipers. Glovebox’s fail constantly on TT’s too. You don’t need a new glovebox, get some decent plastic glue and glue the hinge back together
Another great video Calvin and I like the fact will is just so laid back he's just like yes it's fine his whole look on life is will the cars on fire yeh it's fine I can sort it lol
VRS performance are fantastic. Will is a great mechanic 👍 A very helpful video Calvin. But the lack of maintenance shows that the previous owner / owners have not looked after the car correctly. Plus the MOT’s in the past have passed for years. So I guess it’s a recent issue.. Great content again 👍
Hi Calvin . Have you ever had an Audi S1 ? I am looking for a new car and really like the look of them , just wondered what they a like , thanks love your channel . Pauline x
Thanks Calvin for all your hard work! Love your channel, love your personality! I'm definitely going to see Wills very soon regarding my SQ7 which is not healthy...
Are you sure 🤔 lol lucky bro you got there safe . My bora got 228.000 miles on . And I well look after mine and its tuned . Lots of history for the 7 8 years of ownership. Just under 500 nm . I have entered bro .
Calvin im in love m8 i have an 8p tdi sline quattro and i would love one of these in my life ❤️ the conten as usual vrs realy seam like top guys that always do food work. Nothing but live to a bunch of top petrol heads
Is the giveaway only for UK? I sooo soo badly want to win this car, and wish I was able to afford to boost my chances😿😿 such a good gesture for those less fortunate❤️
Went to binca to look at a vehicle and I have to say that it was shocking. I thought it was more of a salvage yard with poor customer service. Calvin seems friendly on here but in reality rude and very obnoxious person. Stay clear, ASM have better salvage car than what's in the car park!!
Bro I had the mk7 Audi A4 2.0 TFSI Quattro the engine oil burning was unbelievable everything three months light on from full and oil chain pump went destroying bottom of engine with a 20k bill no German ever again got a Lexus GS now.
Had 1.8t Agu with an ihi v34 well over 320bhp stock internals nearly 20 year ago a never had any problems. Most of the work done on it was when it was already over 70k miles
@@liamjohnhawkins4212 more of a pop at the TFSI’s. I’ve also got an AGU and did all the preemptive maintenance before getting it mapped. Having to sell it now as the London ULEZ zone is expanding next year and it’s not compliant. £12.50 a time to even drive it down the road.
