This is to demonstrate to Miele customer services what appears to be a serious flaw with their 2010 induction hob control panel. Several Miele engineers have looked at this when repairing faults with our dishwasher and microwave oven, but it always works fine when the repairman is visiting...! To be honest the slow response rate shown here can be MUCH worse. We've been on holiday once or twice, and on our return, it can take five minutes or longer to power the hob up.
When friends have stayed at our place, we've even had calls overseas asking how to turn the hob on!
In the user guide, you can adjust the sensitivity of the touch panel, and of course we have set this to the highest sensitivity. Hopefully we'll find out now whether other people have similar problems. Please leave a comment below.
I will of course post Miele's response, and to be fair to them, their customer services have been absolutely faultless so far. Our dishwasher has needed two callouts, and their engineers are very helpful.
