I have never had a base gasket leak with dirko or moto seal. I have had a leak on a 500i with hylomar and I am very vigilant about cleaning the base and applying with gloved finger. So yeah only use it for piddly stuff. Good luck!
Good video, we learn more from our setbacks that eventually become our successes. Videos are much more credible when things are not always perfect. You could have buried that but thanks for sharing it.
I would double check you didn't accidentally pull the impulse line loose! Just got a great deal on one that piston looked new I figured carb but somehow they had pulled or blown it loose. Acted very similar!
IMO, ive tried Hylomar and a cheaper version and have had no luck with it, idk why, does great for some and crappy for others. Definitely doing the typical run around tuning issue.
@@Super-Dave-Outdoors that's how it goes for some reason, Motoseal and 3B 1184 are my main go to. Little brake clean to clean it up and give it a decent coating. 👍🏻 Crazy how that works.
I'm meticulous with surface prep, small engine mechanic for a living so no stranger to gaskets, adhesives, seals, etc. Certain products dont work for me, no clue what it is.
@novicelumberjack gotcha. You obviously don't do the volume make it worth the time, but I know donny has rubber coated gaskets made so he doesn't have to machine some saws. Wonder what that process is like
Air leak I’d say. The revs raise b/c it’s leaning out when you’re doing nothing/ideling . I’m an idiot and approve this message. Loading up to me would lower the revs right, too rich??? Then it’s dying when I finally used up the juice.
Wonder if electrical contact cleaner would work🤔 definitely not as aggressive as brake parts cleaner. If it's leaking at the base, so far anyway, I've not had any problems with motoseal.
Is that saw advanced? I know some saws when advanced too far they will not tune out right. But you’re definitely trying to tune around a problem by the sounds of things. Hope it’s something stupid and easy because ain’t no one got time for that BS..
No advance. Gotta be leaking at the base. The cylinder skirt was pretty close, but it cleared accordingto the measurements. Didn't want to cut it if I didn't have to, but I may need to cut it.
