Exactly. You can't have the mindset of "I just wanna try it". You have to have your mind %100 made up that you want to be a SEAL so bad that you eat sleep, dream BUDS and SEAL training. You have to have your mind made up that you will become a SEAL no matter what and you'll die before you'll quit. Otherwise, it's just too difficult and too mentally challenging to make it if you're thinking "eh, I'll try it out and see how I like it." -You won't make it a week with that mentality. It is just SO mentally challenging. It's designed that way on purpose, to force people to quit, so that only the few, special people make it.
I'm on the West Coast and had a chance to train with The Navy SEALs down Coronado beach in San Diego. Pretty unique experience, from what I've heard when they tie your hands behind your back and your feet in the pool, a lot of is mental and will test because the Navy tests patience in extreme situations
The people who want to “try” and be SEALs never seem to make it through. There are few that succeed but the people who do make it through have the mindset that they’re going to be a SEAL no matter what and nothing is going to get in there way. Many of these guys nowadays have dreamt and trained to be a SEAL at a very young age. Marcus Luttrell said he started training when he was 14 with his twin brother.
This video is a GREAT example to learn from someone who actually gave it a try. Even though he didn't have right the mentality only few can SAY they did what is barely possible. Sorry you didn't make it but best of luck man you tried
Thank you for making this video! I'm not out of high school yet but I started training for the PST back in October. Now I just need to take the next step and talk with my recruiter!
+Antawn Weg I got my diver contract this month. If you're a very good/great athlete getting a contract shouldn't be too hard,AiRR is the easiest Spec Ops job to get contracted for.FYI they probably won't give you a contract until you pass the PST 2 or 3 times consecutively. I got my contract after my 2nd consecutive completion of the PST(i never failed the PST). In Water Procedures(IWP) is where most Divers,EOD candidates fail. IWP consist of tying knots underwater, treading water with weights, walking underwater end to end with a weight,ETC. SEALS/SWCC go to San Diego for BUDS Prep. EOD and Divers stay in Great Lakes for Dive Prep and then on to Panama for Dive School. Rescue Swimmers go to Pensacola for Air Candidate School and then stay for Rescue Swimmer School.I would recommend training with a weighted vest for your pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups. Resistance is good because at Dive Prep they'll throw any and all kinds of resistance your way.
I’m a documented immigrant and I want to join in the SEALs team, my question is: Will the military speed up my U.S. naturalization if I join the military so that I am able to qualify for the SEALs team?
When I was in boot camp we had 10 people who weren't citizens. Towards the end of boot camp they took the test and became citizens. I can't give you a definite answer, only example from what I saw.
Yes but that has changed since Trump took office. He signed an executive order ending the program that accepted green card holders into the military. He even gave the order to deport service members who were illegal aliens/dreamers, which sucks because if they’re serving, they’re obviously trying to make a contribution to America that most American citizens wouldn’t make But go talk to a recruiter anyway. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get a waiver. If you’re fluent in a language like Arabic, they might waive the red tape and get you in But to be a Navy Seal, you MUST be a US Citizen. You won’t be able to get the TS-SCI clearance (which is required) without it
Have to be an American citizen for many reasons and one main one is so Immigrants won't join the military and gain there knowledge on combat skills and bring that down to Mexico and train the cartels
So I have always been interested in going into the seals. So can do speak to a recruiter and ask him to take the PST as a civilian or do I already have to have a military background.
You just go in to the recruiting office, go to MEPS, you will have to enlist for a normal rate. But before your ship date you will take monthly PSTs, if you get selected then you will sign a new contract for SEAL/EOD/SWCC, which ever special warfare program you were aiming for. Contracts are given based on seats. If 50 contracts are open that month. Then they tale the kids woth the top 50 PST scores.

My pst scores are in the top 50 right now and yes I hold myself to a high standard and make myself do good form especially if nobody is watching me do it
@@14lucario sure I’d be happy to help. For the swim use the combat side stroke, if you don’t know how to do it search up stew smith on RU-vid he has many videos and trust me you can learn it just from a few days is watching his videos. For the push-ups and pull-ups search up spec-war fitness on RU-vid push-up and pull-up mechanics. For sit-ups I recommend just doing a lot more sit-ups and doing a shit ton of flutter kicks. And for the run I’ve always been a good runner but the best tip I could give you on that is to take longer strides as it uses less energy. Also for the run figure out if you run better on an empty stomach or eating a few hours before. Hopefully this helps as I’d love to see you with a seal pin one day. Check in with me once a month so we can see how we’re doing.
@@14lucario I forgot to tell you the spec war fitness push-up and pull-up videos help because he shows little tiny tricks that make them so much easier
I did 6 years in the Army. I'm out now and I'm Joining the Navy this time. Green to Blue lol but SWCC is my goal. It gets tricky being prior service and also the cutoff for Seal or SWCC is 28 so I need to act quickly
I feel a burning on the inside to get into the seals for a lot of reasons but mainly future wise. I have a big heart man I’m sure I’m gonna get into it but I’m behind on a lot rn so I just got this job and I’m saving up for a car after I get my license then start training then find a way to get in then start so when I get this job here in a few days when I start working I’ma be dedicated to studying saving money quit smoking pushing my body to it’s highest limit and ima go in with a team mindset bc I enjoy pushing others and leading to success so we gonna see God willing.
You can always retake the ASVAB 30 days after the first. Or if you can work something out with your recruiter. Its always, in my opinion, pick the job you want up front. It gets hairy once you get in.
So do you need to sign for a regular job and commit to the navy before you can start trying for the pst/seal contract. Because that's what my recruiter is telling me
@@twb45792 for the Navy Diver asvab requirements VE + AR =110 & MC = 50 could you explain what exactly that means. Isn't the highest score you can get on an asvab a 99. Are those scores % of how you did in VE + AR & MC compared to other recruits. I'm just a little confused by this.
@Greedo SWCC,seal, eod diver, airr are all apart of socom that's basic knowledge you can look up but according to the Navy, seal and SWCC are NSW and EOD, diver, airr are NSO.
@Greedo www.military.com/military-fitness/navy-fitness-requirements/navy-eod---diver-training literally the first paragraph bro I know this because I train with these people bro
You have to be really competitive. So very very high. My score was like 80/80 push up sit up. 12minute mile half. I forgot what my swim was but it was TERRIBLE. That score right there isn't really desired. A person that was there who took the PST already had a contract. He did about 120 push up/ sit up. 10minute mile. 25 pull ups. You have to be competitive.
Brian Faulkner I’m curious if eyesight will disqualify me for even being considered for the SEALs? I have pretty bad eyesight to where I need to wear glasses all the time to see (I’m nearsighted and can’t see very far). Also, if I am considering trying to become a seal, when should I start getting serious about preparing physically and mentally? I’m 16 right now and in the 10th grade.
Ekrah Get comfortable in water. Thread water for atleast an hour. Learn all strokes such as combat side stroke, breast, side stroke. Again, get comfortable in the water. There's a saying out there that water is the greatest equalizer no matter how strong you are. Spec Ops are mostly looking for individuals with the drive and strong mentality since they can make you strong, but the pay can't train you to have a strong mental fortitude. Ruck runs, build up stamina for running, and weight lift, but not too much too the point you need supplements everyday to maintain physique/strength
Ekrah Right now I've made up my mind of becoming a navy SARC. I have exactly one year of training left till I enlist. I'll see you in the spec ops life!
I want to go ether swcc or air force cct if I decide to go special operations does anyone know how similar the physical training is because it's kinda hard to find info on them?
@@obitouchiha5305 decided against special operations for career reasons. Tried to join the army like year ago as a reservist but had a workout injury i had to heal from. Currently looking at 35L (counter intelligence agent) or other 35 series intelligence MOS's. Preferably as a reservist or guardsmen.
I'm near sighted and wear glasses and I'm afraid I won't be a candidate for laser eye surgey and even if I am ,there might be a 50/50 chance of the surgry not going well. Being a navy seal is my dream and I'm scared I won't be able to do it cause of my eyes. Is there like another way I can go through buds even if my eyes are bad? I will in 2 years try to get the eye surgery but I'm curious if there's another way to go through buds with glasses or some contacts
I to commit to going for SWCC as I am very interested in it. I’m a junior in HS and am not the “greatest” at swimming right now. If I were to eventually go to a recruiter and train with guys who are going for the same, do they all train at a pool together and such? If so, I think that would be great for me to learn the CSS and get more prepared for the PST. Thanks!
Are you in the 75th Ranger Regiment? Because I don’t know a single Ranger that wants to be a SEAL. They not only have one of the biggest rivalries in the service, but the highest Esprit De Corps of any unit in existence. This shit ain’t boy scouts
Saul Rodriguez 100 push ups in 2 minutes 100 sit ups in 2 minutes 20 pull ups in I believe also 2 minute then you have to do a certain swim length in under 8 minutes 50 seconds. I think I’m forgetting a few things but roughly that’s what he means
You don’t have to be in the navy at all. You can get a seal contract before you even enter the navy. You go to a recruiter and tell them you want a seal challenge contract and I think if you meet the pst scores they put you in a delayed entry program. But you don’t have to be in the navy first I know that for sure. Some guys are in navy boot camp and have seal contracts to go to buds. You still have to pass everything and meet the standards along the way but it’s most likely easier to get in to go straight from boot camp to the path to buds instead of transferring from the fleet to buds
Is it likely that you'll be allowed after 2 years to attend bud/s ? E.g. as an AW ? I recall JT saying in one of his videos that nukes for example are very unlikely to be allowed to attend bud/s because their command won't let them transfer.
I’m sure they do. They go pretty much everywhere SEALs do. So when there are SEALs that need to board a ship, you are going to have SWCC transporting them around.
Greedo Yes, they do. They may not be on them a lot, but they most certainly do get put on ships. I’ve read several books where SEALs were on ships, and boarding other ships. This isn’t a great analogy, but SEALs are like extremely advanced Marines. One of their main tasks is underwater demolitions, so they are trained to go from their ship to another ship to do damage on another ship. They are not going to be a part of the ship’s compliment, but they are definitely on them, and they are put to work when they are needed
@Greedo Lmao. Bro. Seals do go on the big ships. Rob O’neil and Jocko literally talks about it all the time how they hated going on the ships.. Chris Kyle is another one who stated he was on a ship for a long period of time.
emileo agustin I’m sure it’s not for life. I’m fairly sure they go by contracts, meaning you agree to serve for a given amount of years before your contract ends (i.e 3-8 years)
Erick Montejano pretty sure the age limit is 28 before you start Basic. You can apply for an age waiver, but they rarely give age waivers and you’ll need to have monster PST scores and ASVAB score to get that waiver IF they even decide to give it
Buddy, there have been a good number of Asian Navy SEALs for the past several decades. At any give time, there are a good handful of Asian-American SEALs. Your race or how many people of a race there are in the SEALs or whatever unit has Nothing to do with it, since one man is just as capable as any other. Only if you do poorly, get shit for it and blame it on your race, does it "matter".
