Stick to your beautiful traditions British people. I say this with a lot of love but as your country is dwindling in importance in the world these traditions are really something that many many many people look up to all around. Don’t lose it you will just lose yourselves
I've watched these Proclamation ceremonies from various areas here on RU-vid and was part of another 2. At all levels from the first Proclamation outside St James' Palace to the Parish Council or a town crier in a pub all say exactly the same, except the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire
Oh my word - I just finished listening to Cambridge honouring our King Charles III, and now as I listen to him being honoured at Oxford, no disrespect, but both these VIP's sound like Americans! Are the Americans now in charge of our two oldest Universities??? Is it all about money??
@@H4XORS1111111 Marjorie Neasham Glasgow is actually from the US (Houston and California), not Canada. She's the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire -- nothing to do with Oxford University. It's a pity they could not find a British person for the role but Americans are very persistent and get everywhere.

In old times without modern media that was the only way to spread such important news. Tradition still remains. Also they are part of local (county) authority and this way they accept His Majesty as a new sovereign.
