Me , almost 72 years old and have the tears in my eyes and in my heart and makes me so happy and warm feelings to see this on me I-pad ! Concert ! Thank you for your music ! Whiter shade of Pale ! With this music I want to die ! This song I heard when I was sixteen ! And still I cry with tears when I hear this song ! Merry Christmas and a happy new Year. 2023 ! Thank you again and also the musicians ! 🎄🎄🎄🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🫢🫢👏👏👏👏🙏
Unbelievable, really! Quite beautiful. He's got a little more rasp in his voice than when he was younger, but that's just added character IMO. He's also singing it a little lower in pitch, I believe - either harmonizing with the original vocal line, or maybe the whole band is in a different key. Either way, it sounds fantastic.
This is what separates the music of yesterday from today...the fact you can tell.what a song is just from intro and how it's a story not just singing. One of my top 3 fav songs
I was teenager 1970s when I first heard this very very elegant, nice song. Am 71 now, Jan 13, 2023 RU-vid let my ears rang upon hearing this again, pierced derp into my heart!!!!
71 year old, this also tugs my heart strings for the memories it evokes. People, places, voices, the sights and sounds of yesterday, and the uncertainty of today.
Music stirs the heart, like Barry Manilow states in his song I Write The Songs. I don't blame you for tearing up. You and I grew up in the around the same time. I just turned 71 few days ago. You are extremely right
I just love you that song is one of my favourite songs in all the years. I’ve been here the way you saying it is extra ordinary and you have such talent. I love you keep up the good music.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻
One of the really great songs of all time. Brilliant Gary, organist and drummer in particular plus the rest of the band and the orchestra also -so dynamic. The arranger has done a brilliant job.
@@TheBobbyel .. it doesn't matter, I'm 70 and I know the year this was from, meaning loving this song continuing through the seventies to this day and forward. Ty .
@@beebatman6608 Excuse me but it does matter. Just like it matters that the first Doors Album was released in 1967 and The Beatles Sgt Pepper's Album was released in 1967. And, that I graduated high school in 1967. It's all tied together, the music and the memories. But, "the amazing 70's"? Really? Give me a break. Nixon, Kent State and the Vietnam War? Not so amazing. And, if you now admit you know the year this song is from, why don't you go back to your original comment and correct your stupid, "amazing 70's". Anyone over 70 knows this song is from the 60's. Unless of course, took to many acid trips.
@@TheBobbyel I don't take acid trips. I remember this being 1967 and will not go back and correct anything. As I said a month ago,,, since it was close to the seventies , I continue loving this song and that's why I called it amazing '70s. I didn't ask for your comments, although I know all the other great songs very popular in 67 and very many more in the 60s. I was grad in 70...So I remember well. As well as knowing about Nixon Vietnam and many other things going on in the world then. I'd like to be there now, at least it's not crazy like it is today. By the way pick on someone else if you don't have kind things to say 🙏
First heard “ A Whiter Shade Of Pale “ the week it was released. I was on a working holiday in London and on a Sunday morning walk and carrying my transistor radio. Loved the song then and love the song now.
Grazie ancora Gary.
Any channel that posts any performance of this song being sung by Procol Harum will eventually get millions of views. It is regarded by some to be the greatest rock and roll song ever written. And some people say the greatest song ever written.
Still get chills....what a beautiful perfomance by one of the greatest!!!! This came out when I was 11 years old and I loved it as much THEN as I do NOW!!!!
Quelle merveille.
EVER, EVER....We were two young people listening to this music in loop. My "first love " for few months in Galveston, Texas. i found her 50 years later, ENBELIEAVABLE ....as beautiful as she was 17, waiting her aircraft at the Paris's airport few yards 20 away front me... .it was my most intense moment of my life, Ever ever .....she left without talking to me but but send me a hidden kiss and leave her scarf hooked on the chair front of me. I ran as far as i can to grab it . i breathed it ! Everything came on me all days and nights. It was the same fragance when i met her at 17 for both ! i will give a lot to get her back..... but i already knew it was not possible because i will die soon ! Thank you to this woman who made me a man and lover. By-By, your French lover for Ever, Ever.
Pertama kali dengar band procol harum saat SMP. Ternyata sampai usiaku sekarang hampir 66 tahun lagu ini masih indah didengar. Selamat jalan Gerry Brooker...
