We're back to our usual ways on PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR, and this week, our kids bowled a two-game qualifying round, following by a position round consisting of one game, with 1st place bowling 2nd place, 3rd against 4th and so on, with 30 bonus pins being awarded to the winner of the match play game, giving players a chance to do some serious jockeying up and down the leaderboard in the position round. The top five players advanced to our stepladder finals for today's Championship Round, with the winner getting to sign The Coveted Trophy Pin.
USBC Silver Certified Coach and former PBA player Randy Brown has the play-by-play call. Recorded December 2nd, 2017 at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia, a northern suburb of the Atlanta metro area.
As always, your comments are welcome. But please remember that the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers. If all you have to say is to criticize young people, find a better way to channel your negativity than to insult kids. Such comments will be removed, and in the worst cases, offenders will be blocked.
To keep up with the latest PRODIGY news, join our Facebook group. It's called "Prodigy Bowlers Tour." (You surely could have guessed that.) When you submit your request to join the group, you'll be presented with a series of questions. Be sure to answer them or we'll assume the request is coming from a spambot, not a real human being who watches PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR.
If you like what you see, please give the video a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel to be notified whenever a new video goes up, and by all means please share our videos on social media with your friends.

I started watching Prodigy about a year ago and I'll be completely honest I wasn't too impressed by the bowling at the beginning while these kids were still young and learning how to play the lanes, but watching them grow and become better bowlers definitely makes me happy to see (this is coming from a college bowler). I also want to give a quick shoutout to the editing and production is amazing and I'm impressed with it. I'm also very impressed with the bowling in the final match. One of the best one on one matches I've seen in a long time. Well done Prodigy and I look forward to seeing more in the future

It's certainly fair to say that the performances on some of our shows has not been up to the standards that even the kids on the shows set for themselves. Many, if not most, of the bowlers you see on PRODIGY are among some of the best youth bowlers in their respective age groups in the state of Georgia. Regulars like Charlie, Logan, Tyrell, Dawson, Brandon, Christian and a few others are routinely among the leaders not only at the monthly GYBT tournaments (qualifiers for Junior Gold, always held on demanding sport shots), but also in regional tournaments throughout the southeast. That said, when we turn the cameras on, they're flying without a net. If they have an off game, you see it. We try to bowl on sport shots as often as possible on PRODIGY, which means the scoring environment is demanding to say the least. But sometimes the bowling center lane maintenance crew either forgets or can't, for whatever reason, put out a sport shot for us, so we end up bowling on the house shot. Personally, it doesn't really matter to me. I enjoy a high scoring strike-a-thon as much as I like seeing players have to scramble just to close their frames. Being the producer of this show, my biggest hope is that the show is entertaining, and that the kids somehow benefit from bowling on it. To me, close matches, regardless of the score, are what make match play so entertaining to watch, whether it's professional bowlers or anyone else. Seeing it come down to the 9th and 10th frames is what makes match play my favorite thing about bowling. Show me a player who can step up and throw a double in the 10th when he/she needs it, and I'll show you a clutch bowler who's exciting to watch, regardless of their pro-amateur-youth status. But make no mistake, most of the kids we have on the show are quite capable of lighting it up. The show you're watching (December Match Play) was bowled on the house shot, which is why you saw such high scores. But we've had incidents when the scores have been pretty high even on sport shots. But of course the scoring pace is generally going to be lower when the lane conditions aren't very bowler-friendly. One of the attractions for the kids in this area, and the reason why we're able to attract kids to come bowl PRODIGY from other centers (aside from the obvious attraction of possibly getting to be on the show) is that we do challenge the kids, both with sport shots (most of the time), and occasionally a quirky twist in the format, which has proven quite appealing to a lot of folks. I'm glad you found PRODIGY and I thank you for watching and supporting the channel. The name PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR was never meant to imply that the kids seen on the show are necessarily all "prodigies." Some are. Some are potential prodigies. Some are recreational bowlers with a little bit of talent who like to mix it up with some of the better players we have. The name is a take-off on ABC-TV's long running series "PRO BOWLERS TOUR" that ran from 1962 thru 1997 on Saturday afternoons in the Winter and Spring. Nothing too presumptuous about the name. It just struck me as a good hook and a wink-wink to the old-timers like me who've been watching bowling since the '60s and '70s on TV. Our audience is surprisingly broad in terms of age, ethnic diversity and geography. it ain't just kids watching. We've got folks of all ages that watch, and as the PRODIGY SELFIES segment proves, they're all over the world. I'm grateful beyond words that so many watch and enjoy the show. If, along the way, some of these kids get discovered by a college scout or recruiter, that would exceed my wildest dreams for how beneficial being on the show might be for the kids who bowl on PRODIGY. I consider every one of them part of the PRODIGY family.

AMAZING EPISODE!! My heart was up in my throat in the last game! Congrats to all the bowlers who did so well on the weekend, at PRODIGY and elsewhere. You may have to move the show to another bowling centre after the way Nick and Christian burned the place down.

There are a variety of reasons why this is one of my favorite PRODIGY episodes yet. Certainly the thrilling nature of the championship match is one reason. But it's also just a non-stop Celebration of Junior Bowling with an Elevation of Junior Bowlers at every turn. In Commercial Break #1, we hear from Hunter, who explains how he broke his finger and what happened in league when he was bowling with just his index and middle fingers. (Hint: It didn't seem to hinder his performance in the least.) In Commercial Break #2, I introduce a new feature called FUTURE PRODIGIES. What many of you many not know is that I'm a very emotional guy. I've been known to cry while watching AT&T Long Distance commercials on TV. And I teared up a bit putting this short feature together. Commercial Break #3 has another installment of LEGENDS OF THE GAME (which I especially enjoy). And in Commercial Break #4, we shine a light on our awesome viewers in another edition of PRODIGY SELFIES. This show just has a ton of fun packed in it.

That last game reminds me of another famous YT moment (when Del Balard Jr. needed 2 strikes + 6 pins to beat Pete Weber in the championship of a PBA tournament and got the 2 strikes but threw it in the gutter in the 12th to literally hand the title to PDW).

Christian I’d have to say has did the biggest 360 in improving his game, compared to a year ago. One of his biggest problems was he would always drop his shoulder while China’s would cause him to pull the ball a lot. And getting away from the yelling ball he always favorited. Hats off to Nick. Big time scoring. Need to get this kids bowling more pba patterns instead of house shots
@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 6 лет назад
We don't have the PBA patterns programmed into the center's Kegel lane machine. But most PRODIGY episodes are bowled on sport shots, not house shots. Although frankly, I like seeing them bowl on house shots occasionally. The reason? Because it takes a certain kind of mental toughness to stay in a match where you have to match someone strike-for-strike and you know the scoring is going to be through the roof. It's a different kind of pressure.

ive never been to a bowling center that has their music turned off so frequently, yall must really like the sound pins crashing.
@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 3 года назад
@JamesM 557 -- I spend between 35 and 40 hours a week editing these shows. And if the bowling center had its usual music playing over the PA system while we're taping the show, RU-vid's 'bots would pick it up and every one of these PRODIGY videos would be flagged for copyright and I would be unable to monetize them. Therefore, I insist that the bowling center keep the music down low enough (or off) while we're taping. Otherwise, it's just not worth all my time and effort producing the shows if I can't get even a few dollars a month for doing them. Believe me, it's a constant struggle. The people behind the counter at the bowling center want to turn the music up, and on a few of our videos, you can hear it (I have to go turn it down myself). Once we're gone, they turn it right back up. It's usually off for leagues, tournaments and while we're taping PRODIGY. Otherwise, it's on. But remember, when PRODIGY is going on, we're usually their biggest group of paying customers in the building at that time. And we don't want the music on. If the music was on, I wouldn't tape the show at all. It wouldn't be worth the effort.
