Joy just ended everyone... She has evolved so much from Happiness era to Bad Boy era. You can vividly see her growth, her improvement. You're right, at first no one really noticed Joy that much but now so many people are joining the fandom bc of her... I'm so so proud of her. Love her the most

It truly amazes me how well they can showcase both their 'Red' and 'Velvet' sides, it just shows how well they've matured in the industry yet still be able to stick to their roots and not diverge too much. Side note, looking forward to your reaction for LOONA's newest member, GoWon. Would be nice if you listened to her duet with Chuu featuring Kim Lip as well (See Saw).

the book seulgi reads is a motif in the whole MV, and the book actually reads "ceci n’est pas de la lèvre" (eng: this isn’t lip). its inspired by René Magritte’s "The Treachery Of Images". so while the lips are represented on the book, but aren’t really lips since it’s only an image of it. i think this gives this an overarching sort of idea that what you see is not what it actually is in this music video.

You didn’t notice the footsteps effect in chorus? It’s quite jarring at first but it grew on me lol

I feel this really explains a lot about their music, especially put into perspective with other kpop gg

I'm so happy that they're finally able to be commercially successful with RnB songs because ever since The Velvet and Automatic "flopped" (at least compared to how successful their SM peers are) we haven't really got anything more on the Velvet side because usually their best RnB tracks end up being hidden gems in their albums that the general public doesn't hear (like you didn't until that AMAZING LAST VIDEO OF YOURS, AGAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH). Until Perfect Velvet, their Red side (the pop side, meaning Velvet is the Hip Hop, RnB, trap side - their name gives them the dual concept) was way more successful so SM obviously paid attention to that the most while giving us a Velvet track here and there. I know the girls and the fans are SUPER HAPPY with this, the aesthetic and fashion compliments them the best, there's the type of dancing that Seulgi likes, Yeri likes RnB, etc. And non-stans FINALLY get to see how damn sexy Joy is. They look SO comfortable they just fit the genre and concept so well and it makes me so happy that they're being successful with it meaning we're only gonna get more of it. And I can't wait to the Perfect Velvet listening party, please make sure you listen to the repackage version! 💓💓💓 thank you so much for giving my girls this attention, your opinion is ALWAYS wanted! 🌹

*PREAAAAAAAACH!!!!!!!!* I been sayin so loud...1) RV is about the b-sides, 2) videography leveled up 100% with Bad Boy, 3) lighting finally makes sense...(instead of the bleeding red wash in Rookie, and the cold blue wash in Peekaboo, and the blank white wash in Red Flavor), and 4) the R&B is blended so nice with their modern take on the 90's. You validate me bro.

You were also correct about sensing a maturity. When I was writing about the MV, I said "There's something about a woman with a cash cannon." Red Velvet put out the boss vibe with this release. Great video!

What I really appreciate about red velvet is their vocals. they got amazing vocals, never talk sing and it adds to so much of the experience!

I never really got into RV until this song. Like I knew the members and I did like Happiness when it came out, but that was it for me I didn't closely follow them. But damn Bad Boy did it for me. And Joy. Ever since I heard this song, I did dive deeper into RV and I listened to some of their tracks. But still, Bad Boy is my fave.

Happy to hear Irene with that strong and confident opening line. Then I watched the fan showcase and she explains how she wasn’t happy with the first takes, and finally found the right sound by dancing while singing. Wow. Hope it was filmed so it can show up in a making of video.
