He's the concert King in the Philippines while his ex-wife Pops Fernandez was the Concert Queen. Their concerts were always sold out and jampacked. Regine V, Martin Nievera and Gary V are the Power Triumvirates in their prime. Try the duet of Regine V and Martin Nievera in their concert, a medley of Broadway.musical. Or the duets of Martin N and Gary V where one sang the songs of the other.👍👌

There will always be audiences outside the bus to interact with. Martin came first over Gary for a couple of years. Martin discovers Regine with Ms.Pilita Corales. Martin still has English diction for Filipino words because his Primary language is English. Martin has been a Las Vegas Resident performing in Hotels for years.

Martin grew up in Hawaii so he learned to speak Tagalaog when he was already in showbusiness. So imagine yourselves, Josh & Lucas, when you learn Tagalog, you’ll probably sound like Martin😊. I have watched Martin & Pops (ex-wife) concerts when they were young. Two months ago, I watched Martin with Morissette here in LA. His voice is still powerful. I think Martin & Gary, together with Pops Fernandez and Dayanarra Torres were the original hosts of ASAP. Nowadays, all the artists in ASAP do both hosting and performing.

Aside from Gary V, Martin Nievera is one of the best Filipino male singers in my list. My mom hates him because she said he's over acting 😆but to me he is a funny guy, I like his humor. I wish we could go back in time when they were at their prime and show the world these awesome talents. These people are the gems of Philippines that the world never gotten to know.

Wow. Martin is incomparable in the entertainment scene in the Philippines. No wonder he is hailed as the concert king. He can really entertainment people. He can bring the roof down. No idle moments. He's a good story teller through music if you will. Very funny person and he talks like a machine. The downside for some people is he rarely speaks tagalog. 😊

Martin Nievera and Gary Valenciano are good friends. They debuted the same year, 1982. They are both singers and actors. They have the same reputation in the Philippines as a performer/artist/producer/songwriter. They are both icons in the OPM (Original Pinoy Music) in the country.

Glad you are finally reacting to one of the well loved OG Martin Nievera❤. He comes from a lineage of OG, his Dad was a prominent baladeer too, Bert Nievera, his Dad accorded the "Johnny Mathis' of the Phil in his time. I would say his Dad belonged to the OG of group bands..at that time Society of Seven. Martin Nievera is now based in Las Vegas but visits Manila from time to time. I am glad he still performs, gives so much support to the Phil Music Industry. He was indeed a concert king in the peak of his career, along with his wife then, Pops Fernandez. When you mentioned the time of the older generation singers..that is exactly the family background Martin grew up in before he pursued music/entertainment in the Phils. I remember he also had to learn Tagalog as he pursued life in Manila, since he was born and raised in the US initially. Martin's son as I understand it manages Wishbus Phil.

I was a Martin fan all through out, and thought Gary was OA with all that energy.. so i didn't want to listen to his songs and switched channels everytime he came out on tv. Only when i started my senior years that i fell out of their rivalry.. and now appreciate both of them.

from my perspective, Martin was the first singer to have a successful concert in Cebu back in the 1980s. before, as i understand, Cebu was a tough market to crack. people want affordable prices and good quality. and as you know, there are a lot of good singers from Cebu and Visayas in general. so you'd have to be at a certain level of skill for people to turn their heads. 🎁🏔 please continue with your Filipino OG reactions. thanks, it's a great day to play...

Martin is the most animated entertertainer I’ve watched live. Great sense of humor and very witty too. Please watch a duet he made with Regine Velasquez doing Broadway musicals and a duet with Gary Valenciano , his rival in their earlier careers but has become a bff in their later years. I wish you could have gotten the lyrics translated in English, though, so you could appreciate not only the great melody and Martin's fantastic balladeer- full voice (his vocal supremacy has spanned decades, like his friend Gary Valenciano- who's more of a singer-dancer-composer), but also the warmth of the message- title translates to "I will love only you" or "You will be the only one loved by me". Morissette and Jona sang Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw AND Morissette sang AND danced Gento (yes, Gento) - don't know what Martin performed though he did pass by the Philippine Consulate to sing..

Martin Nievera is concert king. He is now over sixty and still wows his crowd the way Frank Sinatra did in America in his late age. We Filipinos are generally a sucker for ballads, romantic ballads. So up to now, he still able to fill concert halls to capacity. His contemporary and best friend Gary Valenciano, however, is the singer-dancer. Gary V is a dancer par excellence. Watch if you can, Martin's duet with Regine Velasquez doing Broadway medley in one of their early concerts. It's one good performance that showed Martin's voice range, and, Regine's too.

You need to watch the duet between Gary and Martin in an "As 1 Medley" bec that was iconic and Martin and REgine's duet ccalled the "Broadway Medley" is up to now, incomparable. By the way... This is digging deep into the treasure trove of OPM for gold. This Wish Bus performance is 2017, but I believe the song was released on an album from 2002. Long before Zack Tabudlo and Arthur Nery, Martin and Gary Valenciano changed the face of OPM. Martin is the crooning balladeer, Gary V came out with energetic danceable hits. I'm so happy you are digging into the hearts of OPM... what it is,what kind of songs, how it feels, how they sing it, the messages and all. OPM needs to really be out there to be appreciated. Thank you for featuring these artists as there are more legendary ones like him.

It’s Amazing to know most Foreign VLOGS tunes & likes Filipino Singers to listen the TA-GA-LOG songs and they’re fascinated with the Melodies of songs (Tagalog). The Ideas learning TAGALOG Words, first learn & familiar with pronunciation’s of VOWELS well, & every Consonant has Corresponding Vowels in TAGALOG WORDS & it’s PHONETIC Sounds to express It, Besides we used the OLD TAGALOG (Javanese/Malay Language) blended with SANSKRIT Words which everyday or COMMON USES of Tagalog Speakers in the Philippines. And actually Martin N., speaking mainly English language of his parents while still lived before in Hawaii Is. if I’m not wrong. He cannot speak well Tagalog when he’s started involved in Filipino Music & Entertainment Industry in the Philippines.
