Thanks for another great video! I’m a product manager in tech who’s trying to break into the world of product design. Your video provided so much clarity around this role, thanks Alvin!
Really great video and the way you broke it down. Have a similar philosophy through my career just with another wording called; Craft, Business, People Which stands for the same things!
Thank you soooo much for the video. Being bothered by people's discussion about how AI will replace many roles including UX designer, your video confirmed my passion to become a good UX designer again.
I'm going to do an internship soon & I'm not good at coding so I've been looking at other fields in IT that I can do & this video has really helped me break down Product Designer. Thanks a lot! From Nepal
Thank you so much for this valuable video! As someone who is going from UX/UI design towards more digital product design roles, this really helped me get clarity on what further skills and areas to focus on learning!
Amazing, thanks for breaking it down and this helps me to focus on what I need to do to become a product designer. I have been a graphic designer for 10 years and UX intrigues me a bit but after a taster day I was with all the research etc and this is where product comes in, its the perfect mix of both and I think this is where my career is going toward. Any advice about how to break into the field from being a graphic designer? Keep up the good work.
Great video, you've got a subscriber in me, haha. Do you think there could be something like "Ideate" between Execute and Strategise? I feel like there's that step missing, and I would put co-design and co-creation there, but I'm curious about how would you break that down. Cheers!
Thank you Cristian! And great point too… In this video Alvin simplified it into 3 categories to make it easy for most people to understand. On step 2 (Strategise), there are points like Design Thinking workshops and Facilitation… Co-design and Co-creation can be considered part of those topics too, under Strategise - when you start going out of purely execution/production work and start facilitating, co-designing and strategising. Cheers!
Hi João, no you don’t need a degree. You can typically start as a UX designer, UI designer, Graphic Designer, or even Interior Designer. You just need experience in digital product design field. This normally comes within UI/UX design most of the time.
So basically product designer its almost the final boss for a designer. I wonder how is that we see most of the times young product designer, under 30y, since you mist know quite a lot of things
