I almost bought these binoculars in 8x42...but the day I decided to buy it, I arrived in the shop in Landsberg am Lech (germany)and there was a bit of a sell-out. I bought a 10x50 Steiner Ultrasharp at a 50% discount. Later on I had another look through a friend's Bushnell Legend ED 8x42 and I was actually slightly dissapointed in myself...these litlle Bushnells with a 42mm objective-lens and that ultra-lightweight chassis are so damn handy...makes the Steiner almost feel like a big old lump. Live and learn, I guess

One thing you forgot to mention and that is an absolute advantage over all other brands is the focus length. It has an amazing short focus length. The specs says 8 feet but it is actually 5 feet as I have tried it myself. I tried many brands before I bought the one you have now comparing clarity, focus length and ease of handling. You would think Nike is the best but so disappointing. I bought a high end Nike first but I could not believe I could not focus on my clock across the room with the Nike let alone that it was also bulky and hard to handle. With Bushnell I could focus on the clock and it was very clear. Among five famous brands that I tried I decided to go with Bushnell 10x42 legend L like yours. Absolutely best.

I'm glad you're enjoying your Legend's, Paul. A couple of clarifications for others who might read your comments. When you specify "focus length," I think you're referring to "closest focus distance." All binoculars focus from infinity down to a certain minimum distance, and not many focus as close as the 5 feet you mentioned. Cool. I find this useful for studying butterflies from a distance. And when you reference Nike I don't think you mean sport shoes, but Nikon binoculars. Thanks for the information.

Right. I was thinking the same thing about the Nike reference, that he probably means Nikon.

Hi, Do they work as star and moon gazing also? Thank you
@RonSpomerOutdoors

Fine for moon gazing, but not enough power for stars. They'll just look like white spots. With a 60X spotting scope, however, you can see the rings of Saturn and 4 moons around Jupiter.

Ron Spomer Outdoors Thank you for the reply. Can you recommend one that also works with the stars and is lightweight like this one? Because the celestron binoculars are too big. Happy new year

Shitty plastic diopter ring broke on mine after 5 uses. Exactly like all the other reviewers warned about.

Mine keeps lowering one side of the binocular this binoculair is not the glas of a lifetime for the money, you are better of not buying a roof prism its a compromise to begin with.
