I never had a idol and role model. My life was scattered. When I came across your channel , my life was really changed not because I started studying but because my perspective changed. Your how I study video really meant a lot to me. For me what's inspiring is not that you can study for 12 hours but the focus and drive. I really can't write what I feel I am feeling emotional while writing this. Your goal of helping people is really accomplished . Thank you dude thank you. Edit - i got 94.4% in my boards, thanks to james again.
Great to see that But remember you can always fall back to older self be conscious everytime I've been there and now I'm distracted again but i know I'll be preety good again Good luck to you 🙌
I've been watching you for a long time, I always thought my life wasn't perfect enough to study like you. Now I see that you live a very normal life and I don't need, luck, money, a minimalistic room and apartment right next to the university to study well. On top of that, you have exactly the same subjects in the university and you're even my age which made me think even more that I should just study and not waste my time.
J is THE EXAMPLE of what focused and personal drive does. NOT hustle culture or "grinding" which just burns people out because it is moreso for external rewards. What James does is not easy yet he gets out of bed and pushes to be better every day. Damn, I'm right there with you J. Life is hard but we can do hard things. Thank you for reminding me. Location, money, clothes, nothing has to stand in your way of being 1% better than you were yesterday. This is about you, for you. Thanks, Jay! Means a lot.
Focus and personal drive is literally what hustle culture is, silly goose. He does what fits his life, that’s cool. Anyways, I hope you do strive to do the things that make you 1% better in your own life… because everyone’s life is different… cheers.
Mika just chilling with you while you're reading is EVERYTHING. Also really liked the video; the editing, the music, the vibes, it's so nice to watch :)
I’m from Ukraine, I don’t understand English and what you say, I look at the subtitles of your videos and you inspire me a lot! Thank you, keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine!
God damn, between this video and your 12 hours a day studying video, feel like I gotta reexamine my life. I am 27 so a bit older than you are now probably. Never went to uni and barely scratched my way out of graduating high school early. But I work at a library now and am in an environment where I see how important the prospects of learning are. I've unfortunately kinda fried my brain the last several years through marijuana usage, consuming content constantly, and playing video games almost daily when I'm not at work instead of bettering myself. I've always felt a fire down under telling me this isn't right, even though I tend to enjoy the medium of video games a lot, but what I lack is some serious balance in my life. Seeing your videos just cemented that. I have lots of passions I could see myself gunning towards but ever since I've been released into the real world working 40 hours a week, finding the time to grow and learn while also "unwinding" from work all week feels damn near impossible. But I can't believe it is, because then my existence would be futile. So here I am saying that I need to reevaluate as I age further. I don't want to look back at my twenties and say that was the best time of my life, because they've been rather depressing if I look at how I would have ideally spent my time then. I feel I must take your videos and begin to apply them to something I have an intense passion for. I don't know where to start, perhaps with building healthy daily habits as you've discussed before. I might finally read Atomic Habits, I've always been resistant to self help stuff because it feels tailored to make people into machines in a capitalist society. But if I could just apply it to match with my inner principles of life, as well as towards something I truly believe in, then maybe my outlook on my day to day existence will change. Anyways, thank you. Your videos shook me up hard this morning, and I feel I've been overdue for a serious second look at how I'm living my adult life. To learn that from a seemingly chill young dude like yourself is a blessing. I am especially touched by the studying for 12 hours a day where you begin to tear up talking about being a better person, and living in the moment, being truly present. Also being raised by a single mother whom you want to give the world to, I relate to heavily. You have a good soul. Changing one's mindset is rather difficult, but being fully aware most of the time of one's thoughts and temptations is important to changing and growing. Also to remember, I am not you, nor are you me, I cannot compare my life to your 1:1, we all come from different biases and backgrounds. My journey will not mirror yours, but I can only hope to extract whatever valuable teachings other humans have to lift myself up, and in turn lift others up. Standing on the shoulders of giants so to speak. Be well Jay! And don't let the real world break you down like I've let it over the years once you've moved on from uni and your studies in the way they are now, life is a learning journey that only ends when we pass, and we must stay vigilant in reminding ourselves of this.
Dude I 100% relate to this. And coincidentally also 27, almost 28. No role model as a kid. Dad always occupied with his own thing and I had trust issues with my mom. I swapped multiple elementary schools as a kid and even had to re-do third grade, high school I barely completed and when I started college I was directionless on what to choose. Finished that after 5.5 years (failed 1 year and got half a year extra for my graduation year because of anxiety and insecurity about succeeding my graduation project) Started smoking weed at 19 and experimenting with other substances in my early twenties. When I finished college I still had no sense of direction and just picked a job close to my house so I'd had to travel less and be on time. As being late was generally an issue. Couldn't keep a job for more than a year, my contracts did not get extended for 2 jobs and it crumbled my selfesteem. I ended up unemployed for 2 years and eventually started picking up again with therapy to treat underlying issues and reintegrating slowly. I'm doing much better lately doing volunteer work twice a week in a woodworking workshop where I can also just hobby around and be in my own space and at a bar on some saturdays to work and challenge my anxiety. Gaming and other dopamine seeking behaviour have taken a lot of free time off my hands when I look back at my life and it still does to this day allbeit to a more dosed extent. Rn i'm trying to read more and do mixing and music production. I feel far behind others most of the time and as if it's impossible to 'catch up' but i'm taking it 1 step at a time. Wish you the best brother and you're not alone in this. Peace
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. It's never too late to reevaluate our lives and make changes that will bring us closer to our goals and passions. Building healthy daily habits and finding something that you truly believe in can help provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Remember that everyone's journey is different and it's important to focus on our own growth and progress rather than comparing ourselves to others.
Reading all you guys life stories , i feel motivated not to give up and be more disciplined and develop better habbits i am 19 and feel completely lost and am scared on what's gonna happen with me but reading abt you guys somehow tells me that sometimes being lost and not knowing what to do is part of life and it will somehow be okay and i will manage to do something am just too scared and clueless , thank you for sharing your thoughts and goodluck with your lives and wish me luck too
what an amazing story. I am turning 27 soon and never finished university. Now working in a grocery store while my friends work in corporate jobs. Most of the time I feel like a bum when I hangout with them. I love studying but mental health and finances are a big challenge. I've happened to come across this video and seeing everyone's stories is truly inspiring and makes me feel less lonely in this journey. Thank you
Aye man, just wanna say that there is no such thing as too late, you still a LOT like I mean a LOT of productive years ahead of you, so don't feel like you're "missing out". Cheers!
as someone who is striving to improve their life and is surrounded by individuals that don't have the same goal, this video is incredibly comforting. knowing that I'm not alone in my pursuits and that others out there understand the value of striving for something greater than mere complacency is a truly empowering feeling arigathanks james, you are appreciated !
Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.1
I’m getting my doctorate in anesthesia, & I graduate in four weeks . I’ve been using your study with me videos to stay focused! You’re amazing!! And inspiring a lot of people keep pushing !!!!
@@pearlinperil9985month later but if you have a serious drive for it then continue pursuing it. Like myself, I failed 2 classes, but I dont even think about giving up because I have a drive.
I still remember when RU-vid recommended a video of yours in the middle of the pandemic. At that time I was depressed, unmotivated and very dissatisfied with my academic performance. The streams were the push I needed to get ahead and to this day they mean a lot to me. My mindset and perspective on discipline and hard work have been completely changed (and for the better) thanks to you. I really admire your genuineness, humility and hard work. Values that we should all pursue. thank u J. (sorry for my English) (Mike is super cute)
That's discipline. We're seeing the results but I can 100% tell that 60% of his productive journey was building discipline and habits over a long period of time, he prolly failed a lot but kept at it and here we are
@@lroji8154 It's not just for a certain goal i think he has built a system for himself to be better everyday which probably became a habit so even if he has a goal and achieved it he'd continue studying or being productive
Thank you for this little peak into your life man! You eat healthy, live healthy, working hard towards your goals. People like you deserve everything they dream of...best of luck bud
Babe, do not use Paula’s Choice exfoliating toner and tretinoin at the same time! Actually you should not use it in the same day even -_- ! Because it is too much for your skin to handle! Both the products are very powerful and they will end up harming your skin barrier! So don’t use tretinoin while using Paula’s Choice! And ai hope and pray to God that you are wearing sunscreen regularly now that you are using tretinoin because it makes your skin a bit vulnerable to the Sun’s harmful rays! Take care ❤ We are all rooting for you!
10/10 video this was very inspiring seeing you and your college life this make me look forward to my college life and seeing these almost 0 hrs of screen time and no bullshit like Instagram or RU-vid this is really amazing you've become a role model and I love your videos and stream and it's helping me grow as person and helping me mentally. Thank you, James thank you so much!!
Hey, my life has changed so much because of you. love of books and love of lessons. I studied with you and now I am studying at university. You really have a very important place in my life. Everyone around me knows you. You've changed my life so much.
@Thawne with James Scholz. In the past, I could not study regularly. When I met James, I started working with his videos every day. I just made a study schedule and studied.
8:37, what exactly do you do at this time for geniune leisure? I find myself resorting to screens which I don't want. What activities exactly really help you maximize rest other than exercise?
I don't know was this intentional or not but the first song was so touching (especially after watching your video "why you work so hard" and relating to you as a child of a single mother). And the style of your editing is so nice too))
Meditation is actually Pranayam which is practiced in Hindutva religion to come close to God . But I am surprise to see how people are using as a yoga practice which does nothing more than sleep in seating position. PLEASE EDUCATE WHAT/WHY/HOW ARE YOU DOING AND ITS ORIGIN .
ok ok, this is def a NEW ERA ! and it is productive af. *But as an architect I'd like to say few words about your place James;* I loved how your place is not one of those *"white washed always tidy productivity booster perfect nyc apartments"* with *"made beds, aesthetic appliances, pretty plants, popular furnitures"* etc. This is a _home,_ it is messy or dusty here and there. Walls and floors are covered with stuff which represents *_your_** interests* and *sense of aesthetic.* Some furnitures have *stories* - like your *desk being made of skateboards* or your *bed with white powder* - to prevent bedbugs - which you got after months of sleeping in the closet -. Your *earthy green walls* - which I guess you like a lot - cuz you had the same paint in your previous apartment and you've painted here the same color. And all other things I haven't noticed or remembered.. These are James, it's all "you". This place has a personality, this is not a showroom created for RU-vid views. Yes it is *definetly aesthetic* but it is not mainstream, it bears your signature. Those "mainstream" homes are pretty too, but this is more genuine. I think this is one of the reasons why people love you cuz you are genuine, relatable, kind. You are not a "pushy hustler," you are humble and you're genuinely trying to help people. And yes I've said your environment seems a bit messy but you have a *working system* in it. You are productive af *because the tidiness, the system, the calmness, the composure is **_in your head_* and you run it pretty well. Idk if you'd read this or agree with this but I wanted to present my opinion. This turned out to be a lot more than few words lol. Sorry for the long text. Take care James and everyone !
I'm gonna copy a lot from this. Thanks for this video ! I've been struggling to get up in the morning for so many year, the smart bulbs and phone application look like it's gonna solve my problems. It would be amazing if you can add more info like the name off the alarm app or the smart bulb brand. Thanks again !
@@jayskullz hey james I don't want to using smart phon but I can't install it on this power button phone. How did you do? What is the brand of your phone?
This is what Discipline's all about. I really admire that, and one day I hope to achieve that level of focus and balance in life. You've genuinely inspired me to better myself in many different aspects. Also the editing, music and everything was so sick! It was pure vibes. Keep it up J
Bro I stumbled across your channel some days ago, and idk exactly what it is about you, but you inspired me to be more disciplined and have routine. and I just wanted to say it’s refreshing and I’m thankful for you and your channel.
The quality of this video is superb. 10/10 the soundtrack exquisite. It's so inspiring to see what a day can offer if you know how to manage your time. Thanks for sharing it and keep inspiring a lot of people (me included) to constantly improve. Send u a virtual Hug :3
hey bro, still following your tryhard journey and keep enjoying it ! just wondering which terminal app you are using for todo list and calendar at 2:03, thanks !
Hey James! When I discovered your channel, I was impressed by your tenacity and charisma. I've watched a lot of "study with me" videos, but your content came at the perfect time in my life. I thank you for helping me "without your knowing" to bring up many things in my life and hard work. Thanks thanks a lot! Greetings from Chile 👽
Your study sessions motivated me a lot especially during the pandemic time..I have lost the track of time during the pandemic 'cause of you I was able to overcome that period ..and glad what am I today.. 'cause now I know hard work really pays off..thank you so muchhhh...for all your efforts. And I'm still attending your sessions live to become a better version of myself..
This has actually inspired me to get my life back in control. I've been being so lazy, waking up late and wasting a lot of time, sometimes the whole day doing nothing or watching yt shorts and reels. It feels so bad to be stuck in a loop that I thought I couldn't break, I felt so useless and lost to my evil desires. I'll try my best to live days that I'll remember as happy or at least, not negative memories. Thank you James!
James😭🤍 You are such an inspiration, thanks for this vlog. I also want to have productive days like you however my sleep routine is so fucked up, i sleep whole day…but i’ll try to find a way out. I love how Mika always wants you around, you both are so cute together🥹 I’d like to see more vlogs like that! Also congrats for your 1 million subscribers! Glad that we have you💗
I've been watching (and loving) your videos for a while now, but this video has to be one of my favorites! I love just watching the ordinary moments of your day. It shows just how much the small habits can lead to a quiet, "productive" life.
I can't believe how shocked I am about the fact he did not use social media at all in the video. I guess that's what having your priorities straight looks like wow. :0
Thanks for everything James, I discovered your channel 2 years ago now and I'll follow your path forever since it's an inspirational space, spirit growth, mindset growth and good vibes! Keep going! xx
I am giving my college entrance exams in few months and your study sessions are really helpful to concentrate and study I hope I could clear my exam ..thank you for everything J.
I need something like a boox note to take notes, but the prices I see online is not that affordable for me. Brands like reMarkable pricing is just too high for me. Not sure where I can find one in lower pricing and good in taking notes.
I met your channel the year I was going to take the university exam, maybe thanks to you, I won computer engineering and this is my first year, sometimes I get so depressed that I question why I chose this major, but whenever I think like this l remember you , I am on your channel again on a day like this.
Hey I know that my idea is not part of your normal type of video but it'll really be helpful if you could make a tutroial on hackintoshing a laptop as I also want to use mac os in my lenovo ideapad laptop
Me seeing this after sleeping 15 hours...well...I am wondering if you have depression and if you do, how did you reach this level of productivity? If you don't, then I am truly, from the bottom of my heart happy for you. And regardless, grateful for your commitment, motivation and being an inspiration truly. It is great to see but I hope you don't beat yourself up when you can't do it every day, and just take the win when you can 'cause you're human after all.
living a hard life doesnt mean he is depressed , choosing this path in life means you are a fighter assuming he is depressed because you cant do the same is on you and makes it seem like your way of finding and excuse for everything that u regret or hate in your life or things u avoid doing because they need commitment or time or energy instead of telling him to take the win when you can you either dont comment or type something helpful or nice , the way u backhanded that compliment was not it , james has been doing this for a long time and he knows whats good for him and what isnt , my opinion is get out of your comfort zone before its too late
He's very intentional with how he lives. As someone with severe depression I don't see it in any videos he uploads. Regardless, the best thing you can do is get medication. I went from not getting out of bed in 99% of my free time and having no energy even after doing someone as small as walking 15 minutes to feeling the best i've felt in years. Unfortunately if you're clinically depressed and have been for a while it'll be very difficult to overcome without some sort of medication and/or therapy.
Congrats, James! And thanks for sharing your life with us, man. Keep doing what you do. I'll be here to support you and learn something new from you. Much love! 🥰
This is my favorite video in all of youtube right now. One of the few videos which doesn't feel meaningless and a waste of time. Thank you for making this.
I got tired from just watching this video. Ain't no way I'm living the youngest years of my life like that. I need some me time where I focus on my passion projects, play games, skate and spend time doing nothing, chilling by the beach or in a forest.
Want to be like you but i have adhd lol, i'm not trying to make excuses btw it's just so hard for me to reach such self-control, i'm also burned-out hehe
I think you've achieved the perfect formula to life. It's so well balanced, and you seem so present in the moment always. Whatever task it is that you're doing, you seem to give your 100%. I really admire how you work so hard but at the same time you also rest, when the rest is due. Thank you for inspiring us J! We appreciate you sm. Continue doing what you do :p
I couldn't get into a good uni. due to me not working hard and getting distracted. But I am amazed and inspired by seeing your study routine and work ethic. I hope everyone achieve their goals.
