I used to dislike Tim Ferriss. I saw his Tedtalk once and I thought he was an arrogant prick. Today I understand I was just a hater who can't enjoy someone else's approach to life. Being liberated from my hatred, it is a pure joy to discover the vast amount of knowledge Tim has created and gave away for free throughout the years I tried to ignore him. Tim's podcast is second to none when it comes to deciphering habits of successful people, and his short video tips are really helpful and rewarding as he seems to be simply a really nice guy who does not sugar coat the crapy parts of life. Thank you Tim! In today's culture of achievement and abundance of choices you are a true champion and a mentor.

Wow. How much self-awareness you must have to be able to make that observation about yourself. Admitting our shortcomings and being candid about them isn't a trait that you see in many people. I tip my hat off to you, Sir!

I had already come to terms that I (as in only) could not be super productive everyday, but not because that it could be a natural human limitation. I just assumed that I have more limitations than others and so was disappointed in my apparent deficit. So, to learn that you, Tim Ferriss, also have off days is quite eye opening. I am grateful for your suggestion that achievement days could be the flip side of gratitude days. Previously, I would just keep pushing myself to achieve on rough days but it has been a bit painful. Now I am going to experiment with switching my focus on days that I'm not being productive from achievement to gratitude to see if that feels better. I am also kicking the idea around to see if a different focus than gratitude resonates better. Thank you for the new insight!

I love that mindset of making days about appreciation and gratitude if it's just a day that isn't productive. We all have those days, and if you focus too much on being productive every single day, you're sure to get discouraged and frustrated. An appreciation and gratitude day is a great mindset shift to turn the negative into a positive. Thanks Tim

Something all these tips have in common is they turn negative (perceived lack of productivity) into a positive and put a positive mindset in place

I’m a cafe restaurant owner operator. Open 14 hrs x 7 days. Enjoying it but Have a financial goal that motivates me most of the time. But Occasionally now I have some down time in the afternoon - not productive, some things now take longer and have had to work on my clicky chattery voice that says I’m not doing enough but here’s Tim also saying we don’t need to be productive 100% of the time. Another ep full of speaking and workable tips. Thanks mate 👍🏽

Which one of these, if accomplished would make everything else easier or irrelevant? Which of these, if checked off, would leave me satisfied with my day? Which of these, if done, creates more time for me next week. Game changing questions. Thank you.

This is about the best message I’ve heard from Tim. This sheds light on the critical part of process, which is failure, procrastination, lack of focus, motivational bankruptcy, ensuing depression, etc.. This comprises the majority of my life as an artist. It is good to know that even the productivity guru of the cyborg-tech-yuppies here in SF may occasionally not be responding to their Adderol and suffering the glitch in the matrix like the rest of us hominids

TimmacTR I'm curious about why you fast for so long. I do 12-16 hour fasts because I don't feel hungry. I have heard that fasting for over 24 hours may cause problems. Your body makes you hungry you need food and thirsty because you need water

Digital Gamer prolonged fasting (1-3 days) has numerous health benefits which i can't list because truthfully i don't remember. If you're curious, look up prolonged fasting.
@GravyyTrain
@GravyyTrain 7 лет назад
I quite often fast 18 and rarely 20 hours a day and benefits are unbelivable.. you just get 10x more energy and focus.. I think a lot of people feel like "meh" every day, and fasting just makes me an animal when it comes to finishing tasks.. i read it has something to do with our "Inner ape" speeding up thinking and improving focus in order to better hunt for food. besides focus and energy, fasting is PROVEN to prevent cancer, prolongs life, increases muscle mass, decreases blood pressure.. just try fasting for 16+ hours i will put my hand in fire if you don't feel 5x better after couple of weeks. first few days-weeks you might need time to adjust to having no food.
