Watching this channel has changed my hair life. I have been praying for over a year for help 🆘. My main issue was not loving my own hair it's texture it's curl pattern because I did not know how to manage it during wash day and how to apply all the stylers. I never put in stylers. I had them n my cupboard but never used it. now I am love with my hair and rocking a wash and go my hair is flourishing

I did my big chop 2 months ago. My hair is a similar texture and length. -My leave in is Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil. -Mousse is Cream of Nature Argan Oil -My Gel is Eco Olive Oil, Luster S Curl, Cantu twist & lock gel. -Hair oil is Jamaican Mango lime Black Castor oil, Dr Miracle Gro oil, -Curling cream is Cantu Coconut curling cream. I use Garnier Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner. I love my short curly pixie. To refresh on the 3rd day I spray a mixture leave in conditioner with water. I do not reapply products just restyle my edges.

I just chopped my hair Monday ... I was scared to do it because I never thought I looked good with short hair. I showed the stylist your picture and she cut it to perfection! You inspired me to go for it and let go of my damaged bleach blonde long hair. Now I have short, healthy, beautiful curls. Thank you!

Since cutting my hair, I've realized that shorter hair needs to be styled way more often and I haven't mastered a refresh either

I cut my hair, pixie cut about 2 years ago, it was my very first short haircut ever. It was a nice experience but not one that I would repeat. That awkward length 😭 is tough, for me.

With shorter hair you definitely need more styling than when it is longer, I find that if I sleep with my silk bonnet with my silk pillow case i just need to fluff my curls for day two, stick my fingers in and gently pull them out while NOT raking my fingers through to the ends because that will bring frizz. For my refresh I use your mom's method, spray my hair and continue getting ready and then I apply a little Jane Carter detangler and some Curlmaker, just a little. Cantu curl activator is also a great refresher product. Just put a little in your palm and spritz it with water and then rub between palms and apply to hair after leaving the refresher spray to soak in a bit. Works great.

My favorite hair gel for all the humidity is the green Curlz gel and the Cantu flaxseed gel. In the winter I use Aunt Jackie’s flaxseed gel. My leave in for right now is the curls to go detangling leave in the one conditioner by Paul Mitchell and the mielle organic spray leave in

Innersense mousse is really good. It have a good hold and it also creates volume. It is pricey but it’s worth it to me.

Taylor the Shea moisture manuka honey deep conditioner has protein in it. Depending on the reformulation version you have it had Vegetable Protein PG Propyl Silanrtriol, which is a silicone protein blend. Anyway, the most recent version only has hydrolyzed rice protein. I'm really excited because I can finally try it now. Hope this helps. Your hair looks great!

Yassssss I just ordered the Miche Bounce Cream! So excited! Since you love mousse you need to get your hands on the TGIN Honey curls mousse. I’m not a refresher but THAT mousse I use on dried out frizzy next days curls and they boing. It also leaves me with great hair for like 3/4 days when I style it with the TGiN collection. Also- you are too stinkin’ cute! 😍😍😍

I agree with you on the Pattern Beauty products being ride or die. They have become my fav products. I got a hair cut a few weeks ago (not as short as yours) but short and the Pattern beauty has been a god send. I use the curl gel instead of the gel because it’s more cream based cause I am not really a gel user. I use the gel on my edges sometimes which is enough for me. My other go to is the LUS brand. I still have to try the Miche trial size products I bought to see if I want to make them apart of my stash but with Pattern working so well for me it has been hard for me to use anything else.

My hair is the same length and girl, I can NOT go a day without wetting my hair with water to “refresh” . I’m intrigue by the Pattern lone but it so expensive. A few things I’ve been loving is Luv Ur curls, dark n lovely damage slayer (on amazon only) leave in, Nairobi leave in, wet line (of course) , African pride curling cream. Just to name a few 😊 . Shea moisture yogurt line has a protein treatment that is great🙌🏽

One trick I use in-between my short hair cuts is to style it different. Whether that means parting it on the other side giving myself a little fauxhawk etc. Its like discovering my hair all over. It keeps me sane.

Even though my kids seem to like it and I buy it for them, the Cursmith detox line was a nightmare for me. I had a pulling sensasion at first that turned into a buring sensation a couple hours later. Maybe it was the peppermint in the conditioner or maybe it's because I have a dry scalp that needs hydration? It took 2 days of oil applications to soothen my head. So be mindful.

Tay I love the new background. I especially love the plant. Miche indulge deep conditioner and Shea Moisture manuka honey mafura oil deep conditioner is my two favorite deep conditioners too. They are both super moisturizing!!! The indulge smells like candy 🍭

You should totally try the tgin mousse again. I’ve also heard good things about the tailored beauty mousse. I ordered a couple that I’m excited to try since I’ve never used one before

I have tried most of your mentions, I liked them. Once I got to the Ouidad Curl Quencher line (Shampoo, Conditioner, Curl Cream, Gel)...I stopped there. I also use the Ouidad Leave-in Conditioner (LIC). Ouidad does my curls so much justice though. I know, I know, there are less costly alternatives out there that would/could do the same thing. But when it comes to my hair looking its healthiest, Curl Quencher line it is. I get 7 day hair with a little light misting every morning from my 360º continuous spray bottle filled with aloe vera juice with a little Ouidad LIC and Ouidad Gel mixed in. I got my hair cut like 2 weeks before you did and we almost have the same cut.

Talking about curdling.... I made a DIY refresher spray and used the Camille rose curl love leave in conditioner and mixed it in my water spray. I have also recently started using the olive oil eco gel again. Anyways, I was going through my week using my refresher spray and gel and I noticed that I was starting to flake! I was so confused coz I never flake!! So I was trying to figure out what was going on, do I need to change shampoo, is it dry scalp??? And then one day I was working and realised the only new thing I’ve been using is my DIY refresher spray with the CR leave in. So I did a little mix test on my hand and OMG the curdling!!! I have never really done a mix test before and thought it was like a hair myth LOL... but omg it curdled and turned into lumps. Camille rose does not mix with Eco Gel! Lesson learnt!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Do a mix test on your hand before use!!! Camille Rose does not play well with others! 😂😂

Aww Hi Krystle! LA is fine, she was decorating her room so I decided to film this video to get some content out haha. I do find I like mousse more with shorter hair than I did when my hair was longer. I never reached for mousse as a styler when my hair was long, I didn't like the way it felt or how it climbed my curls but now that's the very thing I love about it with my short hair haha. -TA

Be careful of hygral fatigue since you are wetting your hair so often! 💗 also don’t deep condition over night it’s very damaging

I randomly bought the Aunt Jackie’s curl la la at Target & I wasn’t expecting much because I hated the don’t shrink gel so much but to my surprise, I’ve been loving it & can’t stop using it. You know the product is BOMB when you use the same product over and over again for your wash n’ go’s. It’s the only product that looks good in my hair as a one and done. No leave in needed. It’s also lasted really well in my hair during this extreme heatwave in SoCal. She’s cheap, she makes my hair look good & stay looking good. She’s that girl!

Question: TaylorAnn I have seen you talked a few times about Eden Body Works Peppermint Tea Tree clarifying cleanser; as being a favorite. Has the Pattern cleanser replaced it? @@theactivespirit I have tried 3 targets, Walgreens, sally and local beauty supply with no luck. I decided to try Cantu define and shine custard which took my shingle to a whole new level. I love it, BUT I cant use shea butter for too long

Have you tried ecoslay's Jello Shot gel? Very thick, I think you'd like it. My hair is fine and wavy so I have to add a little water but I love it.

When you use the leave in do you also use the mousse as well then gel?

No, I will either do a leave in and gel OR a mousse and a gel. I never do a leave in with the mousse. -TA

Hi again. I'm curious to know what benefits do you get out of putting mousse underneath gels? Don't they each work well on their own ( not counting leave ins. I use those as regular conditioner and add gel),? Mousse doesn't work for me, but gels seem to do everything i need, like hold and shine.

I love what a mousse/foam does to my curls and the gel holds it in place. A mousse/foam by itself doesn't do it for me, however a gel (depending on which one) could be a one and done but the curls will look different -TA
