Great job. Just a quick marketing tip. Consider to rather wear overalls of the same make and color with a nice logo attached to it. Look the part like professional, not like a group of homeless guys picked up along the road.
Totally agree and this year we are working on better videos and when we are filming we will be making sure to look more professional when it comes to clothing! This job was a 17 hour day and very hot so at the time no one was thinking of the little things!
I see 100s of different types of sealers on the market today Its not even funny .. let me share a story .back in 1978 .their was no real asphalt sealer . What we used was the material that the asphalt was made from . Called CSS1H . Our tank was a 300 gallon oval. Oil tank with a man whole on the side we had it piped and heated the C SS 1 H .. we also created the first crack kettle an old roofing tar kettle 50 gal . Our crack rubber consisted of CSS 1 H. Shreads of tire rubber from a retread plant and block roofing tar .. that is sll their was that we had .it dont sound like much but our crack rubber we made would last 3 yrs . On a hot 100 deg day and the CSS1H cut 50% at 160 deg being sprayed on the asphalt .. at 160 psi. We were able to get pennatration it Dried fast and was a shinny Black . Every customer back then was repete every 3 or 4 years .. then them clay base sealers came out about the start of the 80s .. Talk about a mess .. then slury machines That was worse . 100 gal sealer 500 pound of sand .. I seen jobs that was done like this .. these kind of licensed jokers made it hard on every one .. now you have 75 to 100 sealcoaters in every town doing driveways for 50 to 75 bucks a pop . Thinking they are making money. .wrecking it for the rest of us .girl friends on welfare . Two or 3 kids . Got a 40 hrs week job and sealing on weekends for nothing .. Their was a time when you could make a 100 grand a year in this business . Just doing resdentual driveways . And Now since the net there are Ding Dongs like Asphalt KingDom and many others putting Garbage in peoples mind that are hungry that they can make big money in the sealer Business . Well im here to set it straite .they are full of Shyt today their is no such of big money in sealing drives .. the ones that make the big money in seal coating are the ones selling the sealer , rubber and applacaiters to lay it down . INVEST big money to make damn little .. I was a cold call person Door Knocker Canvaser .. and I was A steady hitter 500 to a grand a day .only time I didnt work or do a Job is because I did not want to work a day off . Now a day everyone wants estiments .. big killer these places are a waste of time . Money and gas and the effort . If you flatten a 750 dollar drive way for 475 to 500 bucks and you get told we are taking estiments. Run away .. these kind of people feel you should owe them and do it for Free and you should feel honored for kissing their Butts .. and then you have the ones that want you to check back time waster .. or come back in the fall when the weather will be shyt .. this is some of the Shyt these eager seal coat equptment companies Dont want you to know .. and then you best have all your ducks in a row .. you know on one door . And the people are short and snotty .. most likley you wont get 10 houses from them people the Cops are going to have you Green River Ordiances . No Husseling or beating doors .and you best have your license and DBI number and ins and Million dollar Bond if not you could be going to Jail and loosing all your Equptiment you bough as you wasted your life savings just to go Belly up in a year or two .. It Aint Worth it .
Great video! Right at the one minute mark, what is the tool being used? It's like a weedeater with a rotary broom head, something I've been searching for!
That is what the customer wanted we offer single brush coat, single spray coat, two spray coats and also a brush coat with a second coat spray and they wanted just a single spray coat
long time ago spray on sealer was oil based , im not sure if you guys use it or water based . i hate the oil based very fumey and it sucked to be a smoker lol ... nice work btw
I remember my first beer....... The night before you run your mouth I guarantee you I've put down twice as many gallons of sealer as you have and I ain't never done it like that LOL
