I do love exploring these IoP talks as well as I'm grateful that these are freely made accessible. Yet, it is discouraging to have to listen to an exceptional gentleman discussing fables in between his thoughts and ideas about how the world really works. Nevertheless, thank you to IoP for making these talks available.
33:25 - I like Emanuel Derman's description of Big data as being useful but that it cannot be used to replace intuition. Data and Statistics says nothing about causality. We need a pure understanding of our world which only theory can provide.
