The original source of the track used here is from Michael Nyman's (British minimalist composer) "Profit & Loss" from his opera about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Letters, Riddles and Writs" (1991). In this track, Mozart (contralto Hilary Summers) bickers over finances with his overbearing father Leopold (bass Andrew Slater) - this dynamic has a lot of parallels to that of Enji Todoroki (Endeavor) and his son Shouto. And I don't know if anyone has brought this up before, but Wolfgang and Shouto have quite a number of things in common as well: they're both considered "prodigies" and "products" to be capitalized on by their respective fathers! [I thought that this would be rather obvious, but perhaps the current BNHA fanbase doesn't enjoy Mozart all too much to notice...]
Also, Slater's bass line has a grittiness and edge that would be fitting for someone of Enji's stature - if Enji were to ever sing opera, he'd sound like Slater, I figure.
Shouto as a contralto? Eh, the contrast has to be there between Wolfgang and Leopold, and the part was originally written for a contralto (or Ute Lemper, a chanteuse cabaret), so that can't be helped.
A few things:
Converting all the florin figures to contemporary JPY was a pain!
In this brief AU, most of the Todoroki missions have been codenamed with Mozart composition titles - and Shouto and his cohort have graduated from UA.
I had to put in that Enji clip @2:54 when the bass line does that operatic "shriek";
Absolutely love the harmonic progression @3:14.
All BNHA properties belong to Kohei Horikoshi, and all music here comes from Michael Nyman.
[I'm just putting these together because I think it's fitting enough.]
