This is the second segment of the first volume on "How to Program a PLC". In this series, we will examine an application and then create the code (logic) for the control of the discussed applicaiton. In this segment, we discuss the GUI for RSLogix Micro Starter Lite.

Dear Professor, Where can I get the MicroLogix 1000 controller for the price that you mentioned of $120.00? 5:43 "about $120.00 for the least expensive PLC" Also, please give me your opinion on training with a MicroLogix 1500 1764-LSP/C/B/A Thanks.

Try 720P setting... no focus, strictly a function of screen resolution (pixels).

Add price increases since the date of this video, May 4th 2013 and you can get one at your local AB dealer for $165.00

Dear plcprofessor: I have a question: Three symbols 1CR, and 2CR showed in the diagram. They are only 1 device 1CR and 2CR, but why 1 end of 1CR or 2CR connected to the vertical line of the power source three times? Thank you!

Okay, I have a background as a Nuclear Electronics Technician for reactor safety systems and am on here attempting to learn how to actually program PLCs, because we never got to program them. I also was working on my Computer Science Technology degree prior to enlisting in the military. I said that to say that for a BASIC Level instructional video, even I am having trouble following you. You are not putting anything into layman's terms. I know what you are saying means, but the sentence composition with the words you are using is getting very confusing around the Binary and Input/Output binary discussion.

cant find the rslogix micro starter program on the Rockwell web site, any links?

Rockwell has removed it, who knows why. We have a copy of it on the information disk that comes with the sets.

I cannot locate it on their site either. We do include a copy of it on the information disk with our sets.

what is the name of this sofware?? and i wana to know that for different company named plc hardware.. should we need well defined sofware to program?? or do we can use same sofware for diffetn plc like allen badlly siemen!!

+dhanush kumar Each controller manufacturer has proprietary software to program their controllers. Some manufacturers provide it free, but you always get what you pay for. Better hardware and software is less expensive to engineer. Programs written for industrial controls not only executes the process but more importantly is written to be read by maintenance staff who are generally not engineers or code writers.

i mean to know that for example, rslogix500 or rslogix5000 could be able to be used as designing the program for all different plc manufctured by different com-panies!!! n other others can i use he same software for plc manufactured by allen badly... as well as semen co pan y plc

oh... that mean in simple language.... for diffen company their own software is needed as refered by them and i should able o use every sofware if in case i am using different plc in diifferen working site company?? am i right/
