This didn't work on a 2011 Chevy Colorado LT. I tried the turning the headlight control from auto to off 4 times within 3 seconds method to engage the TPMS relearn mode, followed the same order after key on run and in deflating the tires and it worked for me. I do appreciate the youtubers like this man here uploading these hacks though! Thumbsup!

Did this on a 2014 yukon. Activated the learn sequence with the fob and waited 3 minutes. It did it all by itself. Didn't have to let any air out the tires. Thx for the first step tho. 😁

I tried to do this to my 2009 Avalanche. I did the key lock and unlock and on the dash it said, "Tire Learning Active". I went outside of the truck and the front driver light was on, just like you said it would be. I let air out of the tire for at least 30 seconds and it never honked, but the light was out and the light on the passenger side was not on either. At this point, I stopped, not sure what to do.
@GreggFesto
@GreggFesto Год назад
Hello Katie, Thank you for watching and writing in. We let more air out than what is shown in video, just cut a bit of time from the video so it was not so long and focused on the steps. I personally have not seen an instance where the tire learn goes away so not sure if you are having a sensor issue or not. One person did say they had the same thing happen but I never heard back from them as to what they determined. One way to tell would be to do the tires in a different order so that the original tire that timed out is read last. I know the order would be wrong but if you can program all the other three tires and get timeout on the last tire than this would tell you if the senor in that original tire is bad and causing the time out issue. Please write back when you get this issue resolved so that others may know what to do if they are having same issue as you are.
@katied8324
@katied8324 Год назад
When you say to do it in a different order, are you saying to let the air out of a tire that doesn’t have the light on?
@GreggFesto
@GreggFesto Год назад
Yes, That is my suggestion. If when trying a different tire, the light turns off and goes to next position, it will let you know that the original tire you tried has a failed sensor because the computer did not recognize it.
@creighoughtaling9459

I see several people have had trouble with the pressure change not being recognized by the TPMS learn mode. I am having the same issue. TPMS goes into learn mode after holding the lock and unlock on the fob. Front/left turn signal illuminates. Let air out of the tire for a short time. Let air out for a long time. No beep to recognize the wheel position. Can see the low pressure on the dash. Wrong position because I rotated my tires. So the TPMS sensors are reading. Was hoping to see someone had a solution. But haven't seen any. I tried jacking up the front left corner and removed the stem and let it go down to zero. Learn mode timed out after a few minutes and never recognized the position. Aired that tire back up. Put it in learn again and did the same thing with the right front tire. Nothing. Time out. I wonder if there isn't something in the computer program that tells the computer not to learn with pressure change. (Just like the pressure level for low pressure warning can be changed.)

I’ve let it out for 10 15 seconds stopped a few seconds then tried it again. I’ve found nothing that help. Must be a bad sensor? Any advice I would appreciate it

Cool video. My situation is I have a 2011 Tahoe I had the sensors replaced about six weeks ago and everything was fine. I got a flat tire 3 days ago and went to Costco with the flat tire and picked it up at the end of the day with a tire repair. I put it back on the Tahoe and my dashboard says Service TPMS system. I know he did not do anything to the TPMS sensor will this technique work or is it required anyway or do I just drive around and it will detect the tires back in place with the correct pressure now that it's been repaired

@GreggFesto
@GreggFesto Год назад
Hey Chris, Thank you for watching and commenting. This procedure will work for brand new TPMS sensors. The sensors you see King Cuz programming came with the new wheels and this is how he set them up for his truck. The only thing that would need to be programmed is the set point for "low pressure" or "high pressure" if you run a value other than stock which would require a GM Tech2 tool.

@GreggFesto

Thank you for watching. My suggestions are 1) Take the truck to someone with a scan tool that can disable the light. 2) Remove the cluster and take out the bulb. 3) Remove the cluster and install a switch inline on the wire that signals the light. 4) Put a piece of tape or pic over the light.

@GreggFesto Год назад
Hello JamesBondzX, Thank you for watching and writing in. This operation will work with new TPMS sensors as long as they are the right kind for your system. The wheels on this truck were ordered ready to bolt on with tires and TPMS installed already. We installed the wheels on the truck and then programmed the positions as shown. When tires are rotated we do the same operation again so the truck will display correctly the tire position on screen.

My horn is honking after the right rear tire and not responding to the left rear? Any tips?
@GreggFesto
@GreggFesto 11 месяцев назад
Thank you for watching. If your horn honks after each tire with exception of left rear you could try to let more air out of left rear or stop by a tire shop to be sure they can read the sensor in there to rule out possible dead battery in TPMS.
@rwolhar
@rwolhar 10 месяцев назад
@@GreggFesto thanks! It honks twice after the right rear and doesn’t go to the left rear with any tail light signal at all. Weird.
@GreggFesto
@GreggFesto 10 месяцев назад
That is weird for sure. I wonder if it knows automatically that the leftover one is the one that you did not enter? You could check this by letting pressure out of the leftover one after setting everything up. If the display changes then it would verify that it reads the sensor.
