In this video I discuss how to program a Kangaroo pump and review Volume To Be Dispensed.
Follow along and study by answering these questions.
1. How do we know what the feed rate is?
2. How do we get back to the home screen after we set out feed rate?
3. What are the two separate bags for?
4. Sample VTBD problems
a. Feeding started at 1000mL, feed rate 100ml/hr, has been running for 5 hours what is the VTBD?
b. Feeding started at 1000mL, feed rate 30ml/hr, has been running for 12 hours what is the VTBD?
c. Feeding started at 1000mL, feed rate 110ml/hr, has been running for 6 hours what is the VTBD?
d. Feeding started at 1000mL, feed rate 80ml/hr, has been running for 8 hours what is the VTBD?

Thank you Nursing prof.. My husband was just discharged & we got a 5 minute "lesson" on how to thread the tube. I'm glad I know you can search anything on RU-vid. Luckily I found you. I encourage you to keep posting patient care videos. Even if the hospital gives good instructions, you forget by the time you get home.

I realize I forgot to add the mL after 800 in the sample VTBD. I apologize, I am still a novice when it comes to this video making thing. Hope this was helpful.

Can you do an update video on this please, how to prime the tube , settings, how to do the feeding tube and also how to mix medication and hang on pole please. When you set up camera zoom it in so we can see the screen with number etc to know exactly how to do it. Thanks so much for your time this means alot as a new nurse . God bless you

I had the EZ setting on the kangaroo pump, somehow it updated to the vtbd setting, how am I able to go back to the EZ setting ?

What to do if the pump ends to soon

Can you set the pump to flush pre and post a bolus feed? Example the Order says 75 mL Flush Pre, Bolus feed of 250mL, followed by 75 mL Flush, Post Bolus feed.
