Honda so desperately needs to get back into the 2-strokes!

My boys and I are addicted to that 2000-2001 engine... Honda needs a comeback! Pretty sure 4 strokes are dying off now, seeing a pile of two smokers again (especially ktm) and I'm loving it! I know I'll never go back to the 450's again, long live the brapppp

Honda needs to get back into 2 strokes. Man, if I had a 2014 CR500AF with these parts and body to the CR500 motor and chassis it would be insane

I'm not sure what happened to the later CR250s but they just didn't have the brutal power they had in the 80s and early 90s. My dad had an 85 CR250 and that thing was a beast. My former brother in law had the first aluminum frame CR250 and it was a monster too. Then a buddy had a 2004 CR250 while I was still riding my 1999 YZ250. We switched bikes at the track one day and I couldn't believe how down on power his bike was. It wasn't like Honda traded power down low for more top end. That thing had no low, mid OR top end. Both our bikes were stock with a PC pipe and silencer. He came back with my bike and all he said was "Wow. That thing is FAST.". That YZ served me well for many years. The cool thing about two strokes is with minimal time and money you can thrown in a new ring (sometimes a piston as well) and make it as fresh and peppy as it was off the dealership floor.

now this CR 250 sounds great and performs like a beast!!! there's no denying that it's a beast in every sense of the word!!!! Omg I'm 37 and still thinking about or dreaming about my younger years at 16 to 26 lol where I was still blasting around on them, and know even though I want a street bike I'm so ready to go back to dirt!!!! I have so much fun in the dirt the track and trail's!!!!! but I don't know what to do?!!!!

I picked up an 04 250R about 2 years ago. I was told about it so I drove out 1 1/2 hour drive one way, looked it over and asked, How much? He said $1600.00 I gave it to him without hesitation. He said don't you want to start it? I was like no need it's all in tact just scuffed up and dusty from sitting. Got home fueled it up and it ran. Not great though but ran, Then I cleaned the carb and then it ran great other than a tiny amount of top end rattle. 2 strokes are getting harder to find in good shape so IF you like them get one if you can. You'll find 4 strokes daily they ain't going extinct like 2 strokes they will be around for a long long time. And yes a 250 2 stroke has a harder time competing with a 450 but I had a 01 cr250R and didn't think twice about letting it go back in 02 and sold it to put on a new 03 cr450r And we'll, 8 years later I was missing that completely different riding fun factor of the 2 stroke and when I started looking for a 02 to 07 250R in GOOD shape here in the south east I was like Uh Oh! they are mostly out west. Dammit!

That exact bike is sitting in my garage right now. Not one that looks like it. That exact bike.

Would someone please send me to videos showing all the tricks to getting these bikes looking so new. Buffing pads for real tight places is my issue. That bike is just so clean

What skid plate is that from? It says Cycra but they do not make a full coverage one for the cr250

my friend got a brand new KTM.....I feel bad, I got a cr250 for 900 bucks ran great and I raced and I beat him. he has an excuse of shifting into to neutral and I called him out on it he told me before the race he starts in 2 gear.

They should have put a big bore kit in this thing.. it's stupid to leave it the way it is.. especially when you have gone this far.. for offroad the most popular bikes are estart 300's.. so why not big bore here? My buddy put a 270 kit in his 2003 cr.. it's better. Robby Bell had that 270 kx big bore 2 stroke 2003 build..and he kicked ass at glenn helen.

HUH? I think they should have cleaned up all the ports and made sure they were what the factory guys where using in the day. The bling is nice but the only real racing mod were forks and shock, tank, 18 wheel. rotors and slide kit. The rest is just throwing on after market bling not much different than OEM. I would like to see a custom hand built works bike with every nut, bolt and part looked at for function and to make it better, lighter and faster. Sorry DBM but bolting on a bunch of parts isn't a custom race bike. You can buy these badass CR's cheap let's see what 15k plus bike would build. Ya that's what I'm talking about.

Damn, those gaskets are shit fit. Needed OEM or at least trim after fitting.
