Nice man, I have a B6 A4 that I daily drive. 5 speed with 18.5 gallon fuel tank and gets good mileage. Fun little 1.8t motors. I also had a clogged cat and just threw a test pipe on it. Cts has it for $150 can’t go wrong compared to oem 7-800 dollar cat lol
I recently had something similar as well and it was my a/c compressor and the tensioner was fine. Sometimes the bearing on the compressor that holds the belt goes bad. Keep an eye out for the alternator as well. Mine recently gave out but it’s just maintenance when a car has a good amount of miles. Especially if it was neglected. I’d just do the timing belt along with water pump just to be safe
Pretty cool. I’d be terrified to do that all myself I have a 2017 GTI Sport, want to do spacers ( worth it?) Those Blue lowering coils (?) and a sway bar (?). The thing is I daily drive, no track. Are springs AND a sway bar going to be overkill? Would the springs alone be enough? I want a ride close to stock but also to be a little lower and flatter in turns. but if it means at the expense of a rock hard ride then forget it, Thanks man!
The h&rs are as close to stock as you can get. They stiffen up in corners but a sway bar would do more for you in cornering. As for spacers, if you want a flush look just get quality hub centric ones
