I try to make it realistic, but big jobs have to be cut down to a format you would actually watch. Who wants to watch me on my knees for an hour tracing wiring to find out why the fuel pump doesn't run? On the plus side, I do have a lot of experience with this type of job so that helps to make it look fairly smooth. Thanks for watching!
Good job Matthew. Lots of work, eh? I just rebuilt my engine and added a whole ton of speed parts including cam, an Edelbrock performer 5.0 (not 2) and gt40p heads, tall valve covers for 1.7 rockers etc etc, and it's been a non stop game of chase the next "problem". Lots of custom work and figuring out clearance etc. Luckily we barely had a winter here in Kelowna so I've been able to get at it super early (outside carport is my shop lol). Almost ready to start it up as well. Your channel has helped me through a bunch of these processes and my final install will be a pair of your 3d printed vent gauges.
Thanks for your support. Yeah, this car is a trial. When someone else takes it all apart and doesn’t label anything and it has a totally unknown but dubious history, it’s a real puzzle to put back together. Actually, the roller was supposed to have come from out your way. I’d be interested in catching up with anyone who actually knows some of the history of the car!
One step at a time. The Godzilla is a future iteration but the first step is to turn a mess into a running driving car, then build it up from a position of strength. I found the right deal on the Godzilla so I put it in stock to be ready for another step.
Thanks! Of course I have done this a lot, but it's always a trial when you are putting together a basket case like this. I think you get the idea from the video how happy and even surprised I was to see it just fire up like that. In fact, I had to edit an expletive out of the startup audio for RU-vid!
Great content love the channel. I have a quick question for you. I have a stock Foxbody and I want to eliminate the PVC system, so what I did is I put a new screen and the grommet back in and I plugged the grommet with a small filter wrapped in a sponge, do you think this is OK? I don’t want any oil in my intake as I got it hot dipped.
You can run an open breather or PCV but not both. If I was you I think I would consider a closed loop catch can assembly which would retain the positive crank ventilation but separate the oil so that you don't contaminate the inside of your manifold.
