First map is slightly expanded with adding a two new rooms, keeping the secrets as same as before, the level is also slightly more difficult but in overall its in my opinion still a vanilla style easy first level. The Underhalls are pretty much the same as before with little additions to the level, but it's also a first time with added Hell Knights such early in the game to face it. Third map is slightly changed with adding some nice texture work to it + a switch to open the place to Megaarmor, a quite fast level but also might be difficult due to more monsters than before. The Focus is greatly expanded with adding some new rooms plus a path for obtaining the blue keycard is way longer than before, plus it's a really dark level so flashlight addon might be recommended. Waste Tunnels it's another slightly changed and expanded map, it also changes few secrets a little bit, the level might also feel harder than before but it might be just my prejudice. The Crusher however is probably the most changed level so far with many changed areas and new rooms, completely different outdoor area in parking lot and a quite bit different final of this level. Downtown being probably one of the frustrating and confusing levels of DOOM 2 has a nice look overhaul, map resembles more a residential area than before with adding some offices, bathrooms and stores to explore. And of course, Icon of Sin at the end of this demo, just destroy it for good till it dies.
On the surface this seems to be a nice little reskin but there are so many subtle changes that are great design choices. I think this is a fantastic enchancement without detracting from the heart of the original maps.
@@donovanteale6502 Crusher was never one of my favourite levels, especially since so much more could have been done with crushers on a level called crusher but the original maps pillar room was very dark and claustrophobic, it's also the first time you meet a revenant. I think in this recreation the map is a lot more light an open and thematically fits well with the rest of it's maps.
I've played through Doom 1 and 2 on Project Brutality 2.03 so many times that I've came up with a personal challenge that I like to call "the armor and health profit run." The way it works is that you must end up with more health and armor at the end of the level than what you started the level with and so on and so forth. It requires that you have a mod installed that allows you to collect health and armor and build it up past the usual 200 points. I think Project Brutality ver 2.03 has a bug in it that allows you to progress past the 200 point limit if you're skilled enough to not get your ass kicked. Try it out sometime.
I'm so happy that DOOM 2 recreation Project is almost done, an the funny part is that I'm remaking DOOM 2 as well lol, an there's many other remakes coming LMAO
Nobody responded, so I'll chip in. The mod had broken secret sectors at the time, making them unobtainable. The bug has been noted in the projects thread.
Any modern iGPU (CPU-integrated GPU), not to mention dGPU (dedicated GPU), will run this fine, of course depending on the texture pack and the particle/decals/resolution/anti-aliasing settings; you need a GPU from early 2000s to go THAT low. Hell, the Vulkan renderer runs much better than OpenGL and GZDoom has made big performance improvements in the last few months, so it's fine.
take a doubt?, what basic video settings do you use for this game to look so beautiful? gzdoom, zandronum or other? I use gzdoom but it doesn't look anything like yours and I'm also afraid to change a lot because I have no experience! sorry for the bad english, thank you for your attention!
I wish the project brutality team would give the player the option to turn off all the constant talking for the zombie men as I find it rather annoying after a while. It would be good if you could choose between bd v21 and pb style!
For some reason, when I use the HUD mod linked in the description, I get script errors that prevent the game from launching. I am using the latest 4.10 version of GZDoom and loading the HUD mod after Project Brutality, but I still get script errors. Am I perhaps using the wrong file? Is there an alternative version of the HUD file I need to use or something?
Hey, I'm wondering if someone can help me. I'm trying to play Project Brutality 3.0 but the WASD movement isn't working. I'm dragging the "Project_Brutality-master" folder into GZDoom. But when I load up a new game I can't move or jump using the keyboard. Even if I don't load any other mods I still can't move or jump.
Could it be possible to have a list of music used linked in the videos or a source for them? I've been trying to find the tune to ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-svzXXUVZxaA.html Downtown a while now.
