It's a MUST that popular Japanese games get dubbing, I like that theres Japanese voice acting it makes it authentic but... I don't speak Japanese... and too often are the Japanese male voice actors sounding like women
@@Brian-ti7xm Haha, yeah. I like that we have diverse choices for voice acting, but I prefer to listen in English. English and Japanese just have different styles when it comes to voice acting. But the quality of English VA is... questionable at times. I think all gacha games should take Genshin's VA choice as the standard.
i wouldn't say "as good as genshin", i would like to them be as good as reverse1999. i feel like every anime style game have "i speak anime" way to speak which is something i don't find in western game (they sound more natural in western game than eastern game). reverse1999 va mostly speak like they actually acting without being tied with "i speak anime" concept, they speak normal not like in monologue
@@prohanta9360 That would be an interesting choice that will depend on the game vibe. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I got the frel that r1999 are about celebrating european sophistication. I don't think yelling in anime work well in that kind of game. Mugen is more of an easy-going vibe, so I think the classic yelling out attacks would fit well in this game. Maybe your taste will fit better for certain "serious" character. Dila is a good example to not yell out attacks, I think.
@@FeyHunt it's not, r1999 still speak in all around globe languages (British, french, Spanish, German, Cantonese, japanese, american, etc) incl their original region accent, but they way they voicing the characters aren't like monologuing. In genshin or hsr, they kinda trying to replicate japanese VA due to "this is anime, so I speak anime", so they sound like narrating than having conversations. You can check game like Apex legends (fps game) and they talk like they're acting, like animated movie without having feel like they monologuing. For example you can check mirrage voice line, he's goofy and when he talks, he sounds like having conversations and actually being in a dialogue, not in monologue. This is just me for some reason I only find the "problem" in eastern game with English voiceover, but when it's western game, they just pretty much fine
I really doubt the world as big as we imagine to be & doubt they have the same budget as genshin. I dont believe anything until we see the gameplay with ui. But ngl, the urban style and character design are really good.
Yes, I think we can expect around half Spiderman world size. As a game developer, I can say it may be around Genshin's budget if they want to put that much details into the game. Again, we have to see how it turns out. It has a internal playable version already, so we just need to wait and see.
I'm legitimately more hyped about this game than GTA 6😂 Considering it seems to be Spiderman, GTA, Genshin all in one, the graphics look really pretty and playable on mobile! It looks almost too good to be true as a concept, but im hoping for the best!
Yeah! The only difference is that it's a live service and probably will shut down someday, while those games are permanently available. But hey, if it's fun, I don't see a problem with that! You will need a very pricey phone for this, though!
There are few NE games that are fine so if this doesn't get abandoned it might actually survive but ofc the main problem here is the gacha system. This one is a gacha game unlike the other 1-2 games from them that I consider good. Only time will tell and tbh I've long lost the so called _hype_ for any of the newer games anyway. Idk if it's just me but nowadays no new game excites me maybe because at least 70% of the newer games are all GACHA (at least the ones I'm aware of, not like I know about every new game releases).
Yeah, I think there are some devs who are inherently good developers in there. One of the news I heard is that the former devs of Disco Elysium (indie game masterpiece) is making a studio under NetEase. Maybe they are changing their approach, if so we just have to wait and see. I am also quite disappointed about Wuthering Waves as I explained in my latest video here. I guess that "Genshin-killer" is a shifting goalpost after all. But if you want to look at single player indie games, I've been waiting so long for Hollow Knight Silksong. A neat metroidvania. Check it out!
Thanks man, I was hoping someone speak about the overpromising. My biggest concern rn is that there are no update or news from the developers which is a red flag but hey I hope they cook the game properly
Well, to be fair I think it's way too early for them to report progress reports. Different game developers have different ways to publish their progress report. Kuro Games is one of the most forthcoming that I've seen so far for Wuthering Waves. But if we take a look at FromSoftware, we have almost no update until Elden Ring just about to come out aside from few beta tests. As a game developer myself, there is a point where you don't want to share further progress to keep the surprise to the players later when they actually play the game. That being said, I think what we're shown in the Mugen trailer is more like a "Vertical Slice" or an alpha footage, which is basically a "proof of concept". The actual game is far from completion. Of course, as a player, I wish they are going to be more forthcoming and transparent. I think Kuro Game approach will be much appreciated in the industry.
people seems to keep forgetting that it's netease, they are notorious when it come to microtransaction and how mismanage they are with handling their own game to other ip games
btw i am speaking as one of the player who years ago regularly played lifeafter (because i was bored and needed a distraction mobile game with survival aspect), when the game first comes out it was already ridden with ingame currency but i didn't pay no mind because its common for them to have those, it was honestly fun at the time shooting zombie, managing and creating your own base/home and crafting stuff, but years goes by and i lost my account even when i linked them. so i just kind of dip but years later i return to the game only to find out how overwhelming the state of the game is to the point it felt like not a lifeafter anymore, luckly i was a free to play player so i don't really waste money to this scummy devs.
Yeah, I would have quit too if my account got lost just like that, especially if my money was gone there. I don't care about account transfer and whatnot, you should always own what you bought, except if the game closed down. I am speaking in this video to be as fair as possible. But they have a lot to proof to clean up their name.
This is such an annoying misinformation, NakedRain is the developers, NetEase is the publisher. Imagine Dark Souls and Elden Ring, the developers is FromSoft but the publisher is Tencent. Please learn to differentiate the 2.
@@Mihreszs You're right, but you kinda miss a very important info. NakedRain is a subsidiary of Thunder Fire Studio, and Thunder Fire Studio is a subsidiary of NetEase Games. So that means NetEase owns NakedRain. Calling them the same thing is still correct.
i miss cyber hunter ! it was such a unique and good game with so cool mechanics and super good graphics and genre with good characters and arts as well as the story. ive been waiting it to have a urban map in future but seems netease abandoned it. it has so many potential on that game the battle royale feels fluid and fun. the game now is filled with hackers with no updates i feel bad for it :(( it was my fav game
That seems to be the case for all of NetEase games. Why the heck won't they do the bare minimum to maintain their games? Seems like an easy passive income if they want to do it well.
@@bbokari9880 I can't speak for him, but for me, the idea of a packed open world is definitely way more appealing. WuWa's main appeal is in its combat, but their open world is still filled with mostly empty spaces and puzzles, while Mugen appears to be more dense. Again, it may come to personal preferences. But I'm curious how they handle the open world aspect. Plus, it's a breath of fresh air from the Genshin/Breath of the Wild formula. We can only judge it once it's out. But until then, we can only speculate. For all I know, Mugen's "living world" might just be set dressings that does nothing important to the gameplay.
Im a bigtime nerd so.... if you are, read this long comment. So long as its custom characters only with a currency system similar to gta5 onlines as in its very easy to make money and fun but also selling in-game currency with LOTS of things to buy... im keeping my hopes way up. The game can evolve and improve massively with fan feedback just like gta5 online did, just like no mans sky did. Personally i think both of those games are lacking in gameplay but their improvements are undeniable and gta5 onlines "lived in open world massive multiplayer" concept completely changed online action based console gaming for the better even if i really dislike a lot about gta5 online it did do a lot of things well. Had a bunch of fun with it for awhile. Probably wouldnt have stopped playing it if they just gave it wheel and peddle support with realistic driving, traffic laws and gas use tbh. But i expect a LOT of improvements from gta6. Im hoping project mugen is basically anime action mmo, with lots to do and lots to customize/collect. "Anime gta online" one could say Maybe they give the world a tenkaichi open world mmo game, maybe they give the world a one piece × black flag mmo game, idk, but i see project mugen having HUGE potential. And they can add to it over time.. Rumor is gta6 will eventually add liberty city as a dlc, and the official map leak for gta6 honestly looks kind of awesome.
I mean, anime GTA is a great concept on its own! Little problem in different parts of the small world. Just like how I like it. Good ideas, but had it been any other company, I would be excited for it. Looking at NetEase's track record, monetization will only ruin their games.
@@FeyHunt maybe, I don't enjoy any of their games due to lame gameplay but this has huge potential, and with the standard of earning game currency gta 5 introduced while allowing purchasable currency making it fair... I have hope I mean, it takes a hour to make a few million in gta with friends and it costs like 20$ for that much too, seems fair. I could get deep on how the economy doesn't make sense with organized inflation oppression but ummm for a game economy that's close to balanced id say Net ease games COULD learn from the standard gta5 online set with their economy... or they could lack intelligence and completely ruin yet another game with preset characters and overly costly items with basically no way to earn fair amounts of in-game currency with basically nothing to buy or customize
@@Brian-ti7xm Exactly. That's the thing I discuss in the video. They may want to take an extra careful approach on this golden goose. I haven't played any GTA games since the story and the artstyle don't stick with me. But if this is an anime GTA, then I am hyped for it! And hey, if they flood the entire cash shop with cosmetics that don't affect gameplay, I don't think I will complain. If the game is good, I will play it. We just need to wait 2-3 years I guess, hehe...
I don't think that an urban environment would become dull in this kind of game. While not open-world, Zenless Zone Zero is a very recent example of that aesthetic being done well.
@@didjargo It's too early to tell for ZZZ, since the game is barely 3 months old. Plus ZZZ has the advantage of Hollows, a supernatural place that is basically whatever you want it to be. Try games any single player urban open world like Batman Arkham Knight or Spiderman and you'll get what I mean. There's a finite playtime in that big area. I think ZZZ knew this and work around it to keep the illusion of a city by only providing the small explorable area to do so. Otherwise, big parts of the city would just be a Blank Store #2378 that you just zoom past through.
@FeyHunt looking at the trailers, supernatural world-bending elements may play a big part in the game. I don't think it's about cramming every square foot of the city with unique details, it's more about the atmosphere. Yes, it will likely copy assets to fill in the environmental details, but what game doesn't? There is a lot you can do with the verticality and density of an urban environment, especially with the traversal mechanics featured in this game.
@@didjargo Sure, but the trailer seems to convey that every single street in the game will be packed with interactibles. If it doesn't and it's more like copy-pasted buildings like you said, then I would argue it's much better to create a small open world with more contents than a giant city with empty buildings. That's how ZZZ managed to achieve that vibe. If they can achieve the same vibe with a bigger world, more power to them. I want to see how they'll do it. I'm just speaking from my experiences. Again, it's too early to tell which direction they'll go, or even if the game will be released at all. We have had zero updates since the trailer was released.
Jade chamber was buiilt for the purpose of being destroyed in the cutscene, it didnt exist in 1.0 was built in 1.1 and only came back by popular demand ~2 years later.
Yes, I know. I did play Genshin from launch. But it does prove my point, doesn't it? Gacha games would always seek to reuse assets whenever possible. The rebuilding of Jade Chamber would be a great opportunity to improve and expand the original even more. But as far as I know, there's no difference between the two. That's a shame. It would be a lot more interesting if the second Jade Chamber had some changes that reflected the weakness of the original. Maybe it will have additional towers or battlements in case there is an invading forces landing in the courtyard. Or one of those Tower Defense minigame structures that can blow them off the edge.
@@FeyHunt it's good at 70% in my opinion: the new western themed map need a lot of improvement and optimization, because it's very laggy, and the entire game need a good promotional campaign because there's very few people playing it (mostly are bots). But beside that, is a pretty good name, and it's mostly based on player's skills
Me neither. Performance-wise, it's almost impossible for their target device. Maybe they are targeting a release date when the phone specs have risen to meet it.
I play identity v, and the limited or high quality outfits are very unattainable especially the gacha ones, 500 dollars for ss skins and like 200 for s gacha skins tho tbh i rewlly enjoy the game to play with my friends and theyeve added a lot of QoL things i enjoy and things that arent s tier are still designed really well and arent hard to get and tbh i can enjoy with just them, but netease is very greedy so im kinda scared
500$!? That's insane! You could get 6 AAA games or make a decent PC with that money! Hot damn... I will never spend that much money on a live service game. That's just absurd. I guess that's why NetEase is very hated by the community.
@@FeyHunt To be fair I think that skin was in collaboration with a popular band. I know the only SS tier item was a danganronpa collaboration were you could upgrade the item from B up to SS by playing and the cosmetics effects it gave improved along side it. But you had to pay around the A tier mark. Doesn't justify the price, but it kinda shows that they'll try to do something especial for the premium stuff, Instead of charging and delivering a the slightest thing
im keeping my popcorn until everyone experience the taste of NetEase garbage management lmao. me as Onmyoji enjoyer still pissed that they discontinued (ghosted) the onmyoji Open world projects just to announce this.
@@FeyHunt idk about left out but its definitely feels like they do the minimum on international server. onmyoji it is the favorite by far, they have turn-based, card game, autochess, moba under its IP. theres also idol/dating , idle, racing, and open world project that player dont know the news at all after announcement.
@@Cephalon_inviss Huh, so it seems they want to expand the IP, but they sort of change their mind and decided to develop other projects instead. Well, with the ex-developers of Disco Elysium going to NetEase as well, it might be pretty hard for Onmyouji fans to get what they want these days.
Let's give them a chance, but don't hold your breath for it. I think they sort of similar to Ubisoft right now: - Just throw every random games that nobody wants - Add unnecessary microtransactions - Abandon games when it fails. Did you have any personal experience with them?
PGR is one of the coolest looking game when it comes to combat. I've been wondering if I should try the game myself, but a lot of people dissuade me from doing it because the grind requirement. What do you think?
@@FeyHunt the grind surely is there and the game becomes repetitive quite quickly but I going past that and enjoying crimson weave combat, I don't think it has a lot of content to offer like genshin so ig it's your decision, not like you have to commit to it totally so give it try
@@user-nc8iz7ff5r Thank you 😄😄Wuthering Waves video is in editing right now. So hopefully in a few days. Just like PGR, I have some concerns about the combat in that game. Like really bad. We'll talk about it in the comment section of that video 😄😄
Exactly! What kind of phone can support indoor-outdoor world with breakable interactions everywhere. It may be possible with iPhones, but that's a recipe for failures right there. The biggest market is still Android for now. The only way they can pull this off is if they wait another 5 years for phones to be that powerful.
Yeah... I mean it has potential as we have seen in the trailer. Unless those are all CG prototypes instead of actual playable Unity games. My biggest concern is that it's the former. Having that open area is just not realistic for a mobile game. No matter how you look at it.
Yeah, unless you got a beefy 500$+ phone, this game won't run well. That's the overpromising part that I don't like. Optimizing phone build for a seamless open world and destructible environment is NOT going to be easy.
The sponsor spots they put on Genshin content creators told me otherwise. Even then, they didn't manage their audience expectations correctly. I am open to discussion if you have solid proof that support your argument. Some kind of company statements.
Of course. This video is more like a concern letter to the developers and to set up expectations for the players. Usually, the more the consumer get surprised, the angrier they become. This is not those silly doomposting for no reason. As I said in the video, I want them to succeed.
@@kouttakes That's a common industry standard, which is almost the same as preordering in steam. The purpose is to drum up hype for the consumer. For NetEase, the numbers of players preregistering can be used to boost their stock, with the promise that if Mugen succeed, their investment will pay up big time.
Hmmm, can you elaborate why? I don't mind the idea of "solo party" combo, and apparently it's a mainstay for gacha games for the forseeable future. It forces players to have many characters, therefore pushes more of them to get more character from gacha.
diablo mobile is already an example so there's that. The only game they care that much is their own ip which is onmoyoji. They also have terrible marketing for smaller studios that make games for them@@FeyHunt
Based on NetEase track record and this trailer, they are severely overpromising. I doubt this game will come out exactly as promised here. But it will come out, and probably closed down in months.
@@mybeaniebooz9601 I have some hope that NetEase will clean house soon. On indie game space, the developers of Disco Elysium had gotten a promising start with NetEase, after their studio got closed down. Maybe it could be the start for NetEase redemption arc, just like Nexon. NetEase also purchased Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, Fahrenheit, Detroit: Become Human) in 2022, so they are clearly trying to diversify their games into AAA and console space. But then again, they haven't actually published a game after the acquisition. So the result is yet to show up. Worst case scenario, this might be like Embracer Group gobbling up game companies only to lay them off.
Gacha game is just gacha game, you play for a month, and then you realize you actually have an actual life, so you stop. At least if you are aware enough that your time is actually worth something
I think that's an unfair statement if applied generally to all players. There are many people out there who enjoy playing the same live service game over and over again, including me. I have played various gacha games regularly for the last 4 years. I find it weird that people bashed gacha games when they are actively playing MMORPGs or other live service games with lootboxes such as Fortnite or Apex Legends. In fact, I'd say that modern gacha games these days have less predatory practices than those games. If you don't enjoy those kinds of games, fair enough... but that's just you. But there are a considerable amount of people who do, as their profits have shown.
