Project (Part 9)- Linear Transfer Function Estimation Using System Identification Toolbox in Matlab

This video introduces one of the techniques used to estimate your plant linear transfer function (hobby DC Motor in this case). We injected an input and monitored the DC Motor response output. We then used the System Identification Toolbox in Matlab to estimate the linear transfer function. Continuous and discrete time transfer functions with both first and second orders were briefly discussed. Non-linear transfer functions estimation is not covered here as it requires many more different inputs to capture the dynamics of the plant.

Sorry for my english. How do you measure the data? In my point of view, i only know 2 ways to do that, you count the pulse or you measure frequency. The second method is much better but the arduino's clock is just 16MHz so i dont think this method is possible to do, and if you use the first method, it will not be accuracy.

Can I extract the parameters like resistence inductance etcetera... using the estimated transfer function?

the model at 21:34 is incorrect, it is basically an integrating system, it will probably still work for short time periods because it is integrating so slowly, but it is not correct
